Just thought I would look in to wish everyone on CT a Very Merry Christmas πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

It has been quite a while since my last post as 2021 has been a difficult year, but I'am really hoping 2022 will be better.

My news is our  eldest son  and his girlfriend got married at the beginning of December and I will be a first time Grandma in February as they are expecting a baby.

Finished at work now for Christmas  so now looking forward to the break, and seeing the family tomorrow.πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Update,  dinner now at my house. Just us and my sister and BIL.

Would you believe it my nieces step son was visiting them yesterday from Glasgow where he lives with his Mum. He's13, he kept sneezing and sniffling. "Get him tested" she told her OH, oh yes he's  positive.yell

To say she is fizzing doesn't cover it. She had asked for him not to visit until after Christmas day, because of her dad and us going for dinner.

However he did, she also asked his Mum to make sure that when he does come to make sure he does a test first. Now his Mum won't have him back home, my niece is stuck with him for the next 10 days and her and hubby aren't on the best of terms.

She is a GPs receptionist has worked all throughout the pandemic and managed to keep herself safe.

This virus isn't finished with us yet.

Brue, dory to hear about your family it must be worrying for you.

TDA, I echo Millies comment wear the dress to celebrate.

WN, I didn't know you were one of Santa's elfs laughing

H&T, lovely to hear from you, congrats to the newly Wed's and the soon to be grandparents. What a great way to start a New Year, all the very best wishes.

Finally  got all the presents wrapped, so we are almost organised for tomorrow, just got to pack a small bag as we will stay overnight.

Little party with some of the in-laws yesterday went well.  Too much food as usual, so we had the left-overs today.

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.......God Jul......as we say in Norway!

For a change the sun was up when we rose this morning so we decided on a walk along the edges above Baslow. As we started the walk the mist began  to roll in from the north and for most of the walk we couldn't see more than 100 mtrs. Still it was good to be out in fresh air. We were surprised how many others were out too. We now have quite heavy rain.

Managed to get this photo before the mist obscured the view over Chatsworth.

Tda, I go along with the majority, wear the dress tomorrow. You can always get another for that special occasion if the exercise etc results in even more weight loss.laughing

Robsail, all my best wishes too and hope the new year is better all round for you and your family. Enjoy your visit tomorrow.

Nice to hear from you H&T, and congratulations to you both, your son and his wife. Hope 2022 is a big improvement than this one has been.

All the very best to each and everyone who posts or just looks in. Happy Christmas!!

    Well that is THAT !!

Had a late evening visit from eight legs and feet today ~~ a nephew, his Lady & a strange Collie which does not like any fussing, so it just sat there looking disgruntled as only a collie can look smile.  All their work finished for the weekend so they had been to do the very last shopping.  Nephew works in the Offices of a Transport firm , GIST, so hard at it until the full time whistle blew and his lady working in the local Hospital offices. She was transferred there from the Children's  section 'cos, like so many , she is waiting for a new hip but nothing on the horizon yet.  Indeed it is that bad that she cannot enjoy her very fave form of exercise astride a medium sized horse !

Still at least their sense of humour is still intact  so they are looking forward to the two children, upper twenties, popping round for their dinners tomorrow !!

Take care all of you, please,  I will Post as and when the washing up is done  wink

    Merry Christmas !

Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas whatever you're doing πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰

We are with son and family, nice supper with extended family last night, less of the same group for the day at son's MIL today, same group at another house tomorrow. More company than we've had since the pandemic start πŸ˜±πŸ™‚. Lovely but tiring...... LFT each daily. Gave church a swerve last night as a distant realitive caught IT from the Carol service they went to, Lancashire, but you can't be too careful at the moment!

Chatted with the Kiwi crew early doors, they had a great day - too hot πŸ”₯ πŸ₯΅  30c so basically 9 hours in the pool. Offered them our damp dank grey day - offer refused.....

The wheels of the move grind slowly, fingers crossed, maybe by next year.....

Nice to see HelenandTrevor posting, congratulations on becoming in-laws and prospective grandparents.

Edit posted before catching up with all posts - robsail thinking of you and your son, hopefully he'll start the new year in a normal ward xx

    Afternoon one and all.

I've escaped from the kitchen, glass of cold Sauvignon Blanc in hand, for 10 minutes just to wish everyone a hassle free rest of the day. Hope the cooking goes well and that there have been no tears.

Whatever you are doing (and whoever you are doing it to) please be careful.surprisedlaughing

Not long got back from our second walk of the day, and just finished a glass of mulled wine with a hot mince pie and clotted cream. Will shortly be getting ready to assist OH with our Xmas dinner.

Christmas greetings to one and all.

How's this for a Christmas present We got the Pathology back on the polyp that was removed from my son tummy........ they found a small cancerous cell but it was a level one cancer and as it was cut out and all the tests showed no spread. No worries according to the surgeon!

Robsail, it depends whether you are a man with glass half full or half empty but the end result sounds like a nearly full glass to me.

Wishing you, your wife and your son better fortunes in 2022. You certainly deserve it.

Robsail - that sounds like great news to me - must be such a relief.  As WN says - wishing you, your wife and son, better times next year.

We've had a lazy day today at Sandringham. Cheated a bit and cooked the turkey before we left home but had a nice lunch and a few glasses of bubbles for Ros and wine for me. Meg got loads of treats as presents from her doggy friends at home, so I think she's a bit stuffed as well!

We've been a bit anti-social and declined to go to the Wardens drinks and nibbles party last night.  It just didn't seem sensible and apparently, even though it was outside, there were loads of people there - packed in around each other.  With me going into hospital on the 9th January (if it happens), it wasn't worth taking the risk of possibly catching Covid. Brought home a bit by the news that our grandson has tested positive today - it seems to be everywhere at the moment. My real hope is that this Omicron turns out to be comparatively mild and if it does become the dominant virus, our problems are virtually solved.

Great news, robsail, just the sort of news one wants. Hope that your son can get home soon.

Sorry to hear about your grandson, RandR, hope that it is a mild dose that he has and soon tests negative. Shame that you missed the get together, but better safe than sorry with chance of you going into hospital in the New Year.

It's been a grey and chilly day here but at least we've not had any of yesterday's thick mist nor any rain or snow. Our morning walk was around 2 of the Linacre lakes and this afternoon just a shorter one around the local lanes. Site is very quiet with just one other van on the CL. Watched The Last Bus before coming on here while OH enjoys Call the Midwife.
