Nope! Still waiting to hear from Bath RUH, the dentist did say she would be referring it at my last check up, but not sure how urgent she thought it was. It doesn't give me any great problems pain wise so quite happy to wait a while.
Nellie - I spotted that you'd got a pair of those walking boots from MH the other day - hope they suit you as much as they did me.

A lovely sunny day here so a but of leaf clearing this morning and then down to local tyre garage as when I came back from having a coffee with friends yesterday and got home only to find a bit later that front tyre was going own OH has taken tyre off and found a screw had embedded itself grr so at tyre place they had a look and screw not into the tread enough for repair so now new tyre ordered and to be collected next Wednesday not a happy bunny as it is only 2 months old heyho so went and bought a couple of plants from diy and home store next door.

We've had car tyre problems this week as well. My car has been loosing air very slowly, some tyres worse than others. OH took it to the tyre place yesterday, they removed all four tyres cleaned up the wheels then refitted them. Seems when they were replaced last year the rims were not cleaned up properly so the seal was not as good as it should have been.
This morning I went out and cleaned the inside of the MH, it had a quick flick through when we got back home but today its had the full works.
This afternoon we went for a walk then back home started sorting some clothes out ready for packing for Lanzarote.
Worked out how many nights we've been away this year since they let us out to play again on the 26th April. We've been away 132 nts, 71 in the MH and 61 in the caravan, of those 60 were spent abroad and 72 in the UK. Quite pleased with that as it means we are getting pretty even usage of both vehicles. No more away in the vans until after Christmas.

Apart from my appointment (telephone call) the other day, its been 6 mths since I spoke to the surgery.
I usually go once a year for my HRT prescription (have to have BP checked) but since Covid its been changed to every 6 mths.
The Dr I spoke to the other day (not my usual one) either had time on his hands or he was just being a bit keen.
He asked for full blood check, turns out my Cholesterol is a bit high, good to know. So now we are addressing that, if he hadn't ask for bloods, I might not have known, which could if left unchecked turn into a problem. Better to have check ups and be informed than not know until its to late.

I have been on BP meds for about 20 years now, so have regular checks, but OH has no contact with our surgery, unless required, despite being 72+ and having physical disabilities dating back to the early 1970s.
She is not on any drugs, perhaps they do not bother much when that is the case.

Both OH and I had texts from our GPs surgery asking us to text our BP (if we have a BP machine) or vist surgery to use their machine ,as their records show we have not been tested for some time?
As both OH and I are both on medication ,and OH has been tested,at hospitals and we have copies of all the tests we have had ,where do they look at the surgery?
Ps I have now been instructed by as doctors and nurses on several occasions ,that if my OH falls,(quite often) i must not lift her ,but call 999 for assistance ,since my heart problems ,as if they are not busy enough

Glad you are not suffering from problems with your tooth.
The boots fit fine and I will certainly make good use of them, as they could well be the last pair that I buy. I have a couple of pairs of full winter boots that I'll use should we ever get enough snow to warrant their use. Thanks for the recommendation.

That's good going, TG. We managed to get away a couple of days after the release in England, so from 14th April We have managed 165 nights in the caravan so far, and with the Christmas weeks booked maybe another 15 nights this year. Guess JVB will have been away even more by the year's end.

Its probably sound advice to call 999 for help in such circumstances. A few years ago when we were at the Brecon Beacons site Margaret passed out, fortunately onto the double bed. (she was reaching to one of the cupboards and they think she had a sudden drop in her BP) There was no way I could have moved her and she is not a large lady. Similarly at work once one of my staff passed out nearby and the was no way I could have lifted her up despite then being a lot younger and fitter!! It might depend on whether your OH can help her self but I imagine not? As sad as it is we all have to face our own limitations as we get older.

Sunny start to the day with the moon still visible in the west. Where we live we have a good view of the sun's yearly journey, it's very low on the horizon just now as the earth has tilted back from it. But when it's low it lights up our conservatory nicely and we have somewhere warm to sit. So there are benefits of winter sun!
We tackled mounds of leaves yesterday, they make good leaf mould, bagged up for a year. We spread the remainder with chopped twigs on the right of way to keep the access dry and walkable. We still get complaints, maybe some prefer mud?!
Yesterday I also tried to copy Goldie's efforts, making inroads into some Christmas on line shopping. But didnt get far!
I watched the recordings of Paul McCartney's music last night. Enjoyed seeing him. OH, who is the least musical in our family, was lucky enough to see him live at the O2, our son had free tickets through his radio work. OH said he was good, which is a rare compliment!

Brue we did some leaf clearing yesterday but a lot still to come down and on our way back from our trip out we saw somebody was having a small bonfire in their gateway and it was a pile of leaves bet the neighbour opposite was not pleased as they were getting all the smoke and the rules here now are no garden bonfires but of course this is France what rules.
A duller day here but no rain now until Wednesday so will get a few more outside chores done on Monday, just fed the birds so they will be happy for awhile.
We also watched Paul McCartney last night not much else on even OH enjoyed it and he does not watch much tv he likes to see what guitars folk are playing as he used to play in a band just before he left grammar school many years ago and he has two guitars a bass and a 12 string that I bought him for his 40th.
Take care folks.

Kj's ventures in his garage has prompted me to start things rolling. I hate throwing things out which I think may come in useful at a later date or have some value! I recently changed the steel wheels on my motorhome to alloys so now have the steel rims cluttering up the place. I have posted them for sale on a couple of Facebook Motorhome Groups just in case someone wants a spare wheel. If not they will have to go to the dump! I also discovered a space saver spare from my previous car. I kept it (having paid separately for it) as the replacement car was the same model but the new one came with one supplied. At a guess I would think its eight years old and I am now thinking I should throw it away given its age? When I eventually uncover them I might be able to get to the electric bikes as one needs a new battery and by the time I get to them the other one could as well. Apparently there is a place in Corby who very good at new bike batteries but because of the pandemic I haven't got there. I think I will need to take the bikes and the batteries for them to sort them out. That won't be cheap but it will be cheaper than new bikes!

We're still waiting on our new ebikes arriving in the country and yes, they are expensive DK, but needs must as they say.
Had a lovely walk in the autumn sun this morning for a couple of hours. Spent another couple of hours tidying up the garden, doing quite a bit of edging where the lawn meets the gravel. Back killing me now!
Mrs.WN tackled the ivy and some hedges. Her back is the same. Anyone would think we're old!
We've decided that Murdoch has got to go so will be going Freesat soon. Haven't told MiL who just loves the ease of programming etc. on Sky. Had a look at getting Humax boxes as we've had them pre Sky and always found them good enough and hopefully their technology has come on a lot since 2008. Did they sort out that time lapse problem David K when the clocks changed? Which box do you actually have? I did notice that a quick search showed a lot of Out of Stock next to them.

I made the Christmas cake yesterday - a bit late but better late than never! We are all going to our daughter's this year so I haven't got a lot else to do. I will help her out with the finances though as there are a lot of us to cater for. I have also started the Christmas shopping (mostly online). I will probably now do what I do most years and think that I have made a good start, sit back and then panic just before Christmas!
There has been a service at the Cathedral today in commemoration of the dreadful fire. Twenty years ago tomorrow.

Didn’t know anything about the near disaster at Peterborough Cathedral Millie😱 Damage done sounded bad enough, but could have been far worse. It’s set me off researching church fires now, I do recall what happened at York Minster. We had an acquaintance from our horsey days who worked as a stone mason on the renovations at the Minster. I think St Mary’s church in Warwick was badly damaged by fire as well. Thankfully the fabulous Beauchamp Chantry area was saved, and the crypt is still there. But much of it is relatively new.

Yes nth it was devastating at the time. It all looked absolutely dreadful. We nearly lost our wonderful medieval wooden ceiling which is so beautiful and so rare. Luckily it turned out to be smoke damage so could be cleaned and restored. Lucky the fire brigade got there so quickly. Staff say that when they go up into the roof you can still smell the smoke in some areas. There was a silver lining though as all the inside stonework had to be cleaned as there was such a lot of smoke damage so it all looks much cleaner and brighter now.

Would you believe we switched off the Humax satellite box! We only wanted the satellite as a back up as we sometimes lose BBC4 and BBC News HD (both ok on non HD) . However we had two issues. Firstly, because we also have a Humax Freeview player they tended to interfere with each other. However the main issue was that I couldn't find the in setting how to switch the power save off so it was on all the time. It it's current mode it doesn't wake up! In fairness we didn't pay for the satellite Humax so can't complain. The Humax Freeview is pretty good but we do have to power it down frequently as unless we do that it stops recording programmes. I don't know if this is to do with the EPG or our aerial. We have had the aerial checked but some high trees in line of the signal I think messes it up some times. I was just wondering if Sky still do a Freesat service, that way the system would remain the same but it wouldn't cost on a monthly basis?

David.....if you do not get any takers for those wheels, do not dump them, take them to a scrapyard. They pay by the weight of the metal, and usually more if you separate bits that are of a different metal or material.
You can ring the scrapyard and ask what they will pay for different materials. Lead gets a very good price, but even old steel radiators and wheels are worth something.

Hi DK.
Many thanks for your reply. No, I didn't know Sky did such a thing, not something one would imagine them advertising. I'll look into it. We want to change as our Sky Box which is greatly underused, is causing problems and I definitely don't want to get a new one but MiLs which seems to be on most of the day that she is in continues on regardless so if we can at least keep hers going with her box that would save on having to buy 2 Humax, or Humaxes or Humaxs
.
I'll eventually let you know when we do get around to it.

It certainly is the right advice but given the waiting times these days for an ambulance getting to you, it could be more hours than you would want a loved one lying on a floor.
Having watched the 'Ambulance' series it is heart breaking seeing the times some folk have to wait for emergency treatment.
Not the medics fault, it must be hard for them going out to folk who have been lying on floors for more than 6 hours.

Cheers TG but MiL would divorce us!! (Where do we get one?
) Mrs WN just been doing some research and it seems that Sky stopped offering this to "new" clients this year. We'll give them a call as there's conflicting advice on t'internet.

Yes, a bit earlier than I though😁 The older bits are lovely though👍

I will certainly follow that up as it would be a shame to just dump them. A lot of new motorhomes are be supplied with 16 inch wheels now so there may not be the demand for 15 inch rims now. Also like cars spare wheels are heavy and often some motorhome payloads are borderline. I will give it a week or two before deciding.

A good frosty start, glad to see the cold but not feel it too much!
Waiting for the piano tuner, an afternoon of bing bong sounds coming up.
Visiting dog has arrived, his home is being re-roofed and there's too much activity going on. The gods are with the roofers this week, nice dry weather and I hope that will be the end of hearing about rainwater coming in, tiles cracking, chimney looking a bit wobbly etc etc. I fear Mum & Dad are going to have to contribute to this one, it's a major overhaul on an old terraced house.

TG, there was an interesting snippet on the BBC lunchtime news. Apparently a minuscule percentage of patients account for 16% of A&E emergency call-outs with multiple attendances each year.

A morning spent travelling to and from hospital to give bloods. Everything ship shape hopefully. Got home and tried to find a way online to cancel the original blood test appointment made for middle of December only to find that it's not possible to do this online.🤔 You can make a booking but not cancel one so I waited on the phone for 15 minutes to get through to booking centre just to cancel it. And they wonder why people don't turn up for appointments and not let them know.🤷♂️
Did some shopping on the way home from Wrexham and arrived home to find out that the new chairs we ordered last week will be arriving tomorrow. Panic. Arranged money transfer quickly. We were told about 4 weeks. Looks like the hoover might be getting a run out later as well.😂

Hope you like them when you get them in place, WN. Good to hear that the blood extraction went without a hitch, hope the results are favourable.
Frosty start to the day here too, brue, with lovely blue skies. Finished off hoovering out they van, so just the polishing to do now and then we'll be ready for the off again, once all our appointments are fulfilled.
