Currently I'm sitting with my finger poised by the mouse, waiting for 10:00 when I can click and book tickets for Bellowhead's reunion tour in November 2022.

Dinner made, and ready to reheat, so I'm not distracted. Woe betide anyone who disturbs me at the vital time.

Brue. For years our family have been going to the Winter Lights at Anglesey Abbey but this year the children are all teenagers and most of them have decided they don't want to go sadlyfrown. Our daughter's village have a similar thing to your village with their Christmas lights.  However they all use the white lights,  Last year some new neighbours moved it and theirs are all very bright and colourful. People are not happylaughing

Did a tip run yesterday having cropped a rowan and bay tree in the back garden. Had previously strained my back prepping OHs car for MOT and heaving the hippo bag out of the car has exacerbated the strain so I'm shuffling around a bit. At least I had previously drained down the water in the Moho prior to tomorrows anticipated snowfall.

Update - tickets booked for Harrogate. And by good luck, or the swiftness of my fingers, we've got front row seats.

Millie. We have someone in our street who is a technical whizz with lights, the rest of us do the best we can! The village as a whole have been asked to do window displays, which is OK for the roadside cottages but not everyone, at least it cheers us all up and will raise funds for projects. Mr Brue grumbles at my "need" for a few extra new lights but it's me who climbs through the trees and bushes with them.....winklaughing

We are both in a bad way at the moment.  Callum has shared a bug from the nursery with us, so we have terrible chesty coughs, and now colds.  He on the other hand shrugged it off in a couple of days.   Mummy and Nathan are suffering too.

I think I am now starting to get better, but OH is a couple of days behind me, so is still getting worse.   Hopefully we will be much better by Monday when DD next comes to carry on with the garage project.

We've had a snowfall of sorts. Leaves, leaves and more leaves. The cars have turned Brown, the green lawn is no more and looking at the woods there is still a lot more to come. Think I'll wait a while to go out and sort them out.

Blowing a bit in this neck of the woods. Assume it's nationwide. Had an email saying that our new bikes are in the shop and being tested and assembled. We'll pick them up next week hopefully. No money left for any BF deals following the purchase of 2 new chairs and the bikes.

Just answered the phone, literally in the middle of this post. Doctor wants me to have blood tests as my BP meds need increasing in dosage. I wrote on the prescription the reason why they needed it and have had to point out to them that I had blood tests done only this last Monday gone and asked them to liaise with Renal Unit at Wrexham. What's the point of more being done so soon? Receptionist will refer back to doctor. yellyell As I've said previously Admin in the NHS is rubbish. The amount of time wasted in sorting things out is mind boggling.

Good to hear you arrived safe Corners. Beautiful view. We had a terrific storm here around midday, it was like dusk it was so dark. Winds, torrential rain, all for around 20 minutes. It’s glorious again now. But more to come I think.

Stay safe all. Hoping those ailing, and their loved ones soon start to feel better. Good news on the tickets Goldie👍

Re the tickets and all this talk of deposits. I’ve paid just over £80 for an event in 364 days time. No insurance etc, who knows what will happen in the meantime. But by we go I will have forgotten about the cost and it will seem like a free night out!

We are similar in outlook to be honest Goldie. You can end up worrying too much about stuff, and end up doing nothing. My Sister took Mum and Dad to see Luciano Pavarotti a few years ago. Cost a fortune. He managed 20 minutes on stage, then was taken ill. But it all came right in the end, they were given free tickets for another date, so they got double the excitement! Hope it’s a good concert, we haven’t been to one for far too long now. Possibly Kaiser Chiefs at Manchester🤔

The weather is looking decidely ropey, very strong winds coming in from the south west just now....hoping all the leaves will exit somwhere else. wink

Wow, Cornersteady that’s a gorgeous picture.  Enjoy your stay.

View of Ullswater taken on Tuesday.  We had our few days in one of the Cabins at Troutbeck site, we were lucky with the weather, and had a couple of glorious days, except for Wednesday morning when it was typical Lakes!  The cabins are fine and well equipped, just rather chilly. No carpets, cold floor and a ‘french style’ bed made things not as comfortable as they could have been, for us anyway.  I suppose if one used them in warmer weather it would be fine.  I’m not sure the insulation in them is as good as our caravan as it got cold very quickly as soon as the heating went off, I wondered why there was an extra electric heater in there - we found out!

Sounds like you had a lucky purchase for the van Nellie

Yes, brue, and we only went in on the off chance. Not as successful with a 280x280mm replacement fly screen for the shower for vent. Ordered one on line, and it came quickly enough, and although the package label stated the correct item size the screen turned out to be 250x250mm. Now waiting for word from the supplier about what he's going to do about it.

Jealous of you Goldie being able to get tickets for that tour. I would go but don't think OH would want to do it's a no go for me.

Quite breeze here with the occasional shower of rain but we managed our walks without getting wet, so far. Just read a post from Northumberland where the writer had snow this afternoon, and the storm is the worst he has experienced and has resulted in loss of power.

    Morning

Off for a site walk to check for damage in a bit. I can see from the window two trees leaning over badly already. Our chainsaw man is going to be very busy this week!!

My concern is the storage yard and with visitors coming to see their vans today. Fingers crossed.

Hope not to much damage JK. We see that Broadway has had some snow brr.

After a very cold damp day yesterday and overnight we now have some sunshine hooray but very chilly, have topped up the bird feeders and the birds are non stop feeding, we may get some snow showers overnight and tomorrow so not go to far, also the local hunt are out and about as have heard gunshots already but a lot of the local woods here have a no hunting signs in them now.

    Take care folks.

Apparently the website for booking boosters went into overdrive after the latest corvid updates 1.2 million slots booked we have got ours next Wednesday and have had at least 2 emails telling us do not forget your booster and now down to 5 months instead of six months after the second which there is a lot more bookings and from 15th if you have not had your booster your corvid pass will be invalid so that makes a lot of folk think to get it done.

Yep, it’s been a bad storm, still raging here. Some very bad damage up and down the country. Sadly two deaths as well. We woke up to a white covering, and a few things blown over. I bet there are a few trees down in our park and close woodlands as well.

We caught a fascinating music documentary last night on BBC4. All about Alan Hull of Lindisfarne. What a writer, musician he was, and much revered in the North East. We are perhaps a tad too young to have a lot of memories of Lindisfarne, although we did recognise some of the big hits like Fog on the Tyne and Lady Eleanor. Well worth a watch, and see how his legacy lives on. Link

I watched the Alan Hull programme too TDA but only half so will catch up later. I like to watch Have I Got News....  I used to visit Newcastle in that era I was trying to tell our son in the NE what it was like then. We were having a parallel conversation on whatsapp. This morning not so good, son in back garden sweeping up parts of their kitchen roof, all the locals have had some sort of damage, they're a few minutes in from the coast.

The winds ease off here around 2pm but I've got to go to the dentist before then. Got up early for 10am appointment and found out it was 1pm.

That’s bad Brue, lots of property damage as well sadly. Hope things get sorted quickly for them. I think we might have a Lindisfarne LP somewhere🤔 We got the leftovers when OHs Mum passed away, quite a while now. Anything not collected was sorted by us before house was sold, we have got the odd treasure, and that LP might well be one. It belongs to OHs older brother, so we might reunited them. After sorting out a digital copy👍😂

OH has had the dreaded cold all week. I had survived well until last night, now sniffling and sneezing again. Something is going on, we haven’t had colds for decades, then wham, two in two months, both of us😡 We haven’t been far, use masks, sanitise, not mixing, no children spreading it. I might have to blame the dog, he socialises more than we do. Another week of feeling grotty coming up😢

The winds that were forecast for last night didn't materialise - but it's now blowing an absolute hoolie - coming straight off the sea onto the back of our house.  Not good.  Already lost two panes of glass from the greenhouse and I can see more going the same way before long. This is definitely the worst storm we have had in the 9 years we have been here. Neither Meg nor I were very keen on going for a walk this morning but needs must.  Needless to say, we didn't venture onto the beach as we usually dosurprised

It's forecast to get up to 60 mph by 2pm and it can't be far off that now.

Slates off the house, roof light off the milking parlour, a few trees down (or falling down) round the farm, but nothing too bad. Most roads round the village were blocked overnight with fallen trees, and our milk tanker couldn't get through until this morning (and then by a circuitous route). Power was off for most of the village, but ours comes another way so we were OK.

But I'm vey cold, despite the Aga and the woodburner. Time to put another layer on. Our house is very well ventilated!

And in other news - we feature on pages 10/11 of this RSPB report.

After a little rain and high wind in the night, enough to blow a couple of bins over, it is now blue skies and bright sunshine, and even the wind has dropped, although it is still on the chilly side. It was a bit fresh for our morning walk but should feel reasonably pleasant when we head out in an hour time. At least we can wrap up warm and not have to bother with wet weather clothes.

Boosters for us this afternoon, 3rd time lucky not been able to make previous dates. Didn't feel the liquid enter my arm like I did with AZ, Pfizer this time, fingers crossed won't get reaction like last time - 3 weeks to shake off 1st jab.

    Been complaining about l

Lack of masks and distancing on in my very occasional visits to town - glad I've worn a mask indoors and out as we have one of the 2 known new variant cases in the country!

Dull, cold and breezy here, but not bad as some of you.

Hope you are ok with the booster B2. I read that your area had the new variant but no doubt it's in other places too. frown

Also hope the TDAs and Kjs recover from their rotten colds.

Just been to dentists, a bit surpised that hygienist didn't wear full face gear but her assistant did! Back again next week to see dentist proper who usually wears the full kit, face shield and goggles etc. They did ask if I'd been to Africa?!! undecided

Goldie, I can't get your link to work.

Made a third Christmas cake...thinks that's enough to satisfy family demands! wink

Rotten night. Most of it spent visiting the toilet. Food Poisoning of some sort although all three of us had exactly the same meal with the same ingredients for everything and the other 2 were fine, no problems at all. We suspect that there may well have been some cross contamination somewhere along the line in one of the products and it's kicked my allergy in.

Still, had to be early this morning as Mrs WNs booster due and after she suffered a bit of a reaction in her arm with the last one I decided to drive her to the centre. All went well and she had the Moderna vaccine. Sore arm but nothing else to this moment.

Not cooking anything tonight. Probably hit the sack early as well.

Surprised like you Brue with your hygienist. Ours comes dressed like an extra for Dr.Who.

Can't get Goldie's link to work either.

Best to those fellow members ailing.
