We are staying at Troutbeck TtDA. We have a larger cabin, sleeps 6, so not sure about beds - assume not bunks, well, not for just us 2! Will see if it would suit our son and family sometime as we have stayed at Troutbeck many times with the caravan, last time in April this year so we’ve seen the cabins from the outside. I think I’ll pop our Remoska in the car as a back up for cooking.

Splendid weekend in East G. Puppy meet up, my how quickly they grow all had a great time rtving from a very large pond, luckily they all are part spaniel so they are good at swimming and rtving, arriving home late PM yesterday and Bentley has slept since we arrived, has his rabies jab today in preparation for our planned visit to Spain early next year, more expense, but we love our dogs and wouldnt be without them, so just cracking on with what ever is required to keep them safe.
This is mum and 2 of the pups, she was a great mum and still is, was still bossing them around.

Our son and family tried out one of the "WigWam" holidays cabin offerings, there are various levels of comfort on offer. Theirs was fairly basic up on Loch Ness but they're going to try a fully equipped one next time. They enjoyed it.

Well Well Well, Brian's escaped without any TOO strict sanctions being imposed except the obvious :--
Lose some weight, Better control of Blood Sugars Try using the Blood-pressure monitor more often and GET MORE TIME ON THE EXERCISE BIKE { Happy Bunnies don't use such things do they
}
Hoping that the New Year Rules for C & MC permit more freedom especially for those with owners like Rufs , Moulesy, etc, etc even R2B as well
~~ Bathing in the cold cold sea or just largish ponds should get the blood moving for the owners
Now it's time to shift my stumps & transfer a load of just arrived bird foods from the porch into the Workshop { shed }

We had a lovely day with our grandchildren yesterday at the school. Whole school on parade along with the piped band. Great turn out from the families that could get there. For once it wasn't that cold standing on the parade square, its usually either snowing/freezing or raining with a gale blowing for remembrance day service.
We took our 2 out for lunch in a 'posh' restaurant (not a burger or pizza place) afterwards and as an early birthday treat for our eldest grand daughter. Lovely place will definitely go there again, food was excellent, service spot on and the atmosphere was just right. All in all a great but slightly expensive day
This morning I was up sharp, sat with phone in hand ready to try the lottery of getting through to the GPs surgery. Only took 27 mins to get an answer
success. Arranged for Dr to call me this morning
he duly did and I even got to speak to him on 2 matters
both sorted out to my satisfaction and his. I won't push my luck anymore today as I'm feeling quite up beat.
OH bought a new phone yesterday and is sat trying to set it up and transfer everything from old phone to new. Then I get his old phone, its not that old but has better memory and functions than the one I have.
Lovely day here now after what was a very foggy morning, sun is out sky is blue and everything is glistening with water droplets, think we might go for a walk this afternoon.
Isn't it great when things go well

Glad you had a good day yesterday with grandchildren TG, I did watch Saturday night remembrance programme on BBC1 and the service yesterday in London.
Had a foggy morning here then sun came out so did the washing nearly all dry and now got wind from the north brr and very cloudy did think of a walk but found the local hunt are out and about where I usually go, OH trying our local doctors for an appointment as they now advise pm only as am for emergencies and no luck so far of getting through too much music.
Did a few outside chores before it got to chilly, had chinooks and other helicopters flying about yesterday and some today, the military exercise will finish on Wednesday.

Catching up after a week away. Needed food supplies so took the ladies down to Broughton Shopping centre and they disappeared looking for Sheep Wool lined slippers for MiL. She insists on having some for Christmas. Fair enough.
I did my Tesco shop and we met up again. No slippers but she decided to try on a pair of UGG boots and liked them so much that she bought 2, one for outside and the other as a pair of indoor slippers. Most expensive pair of slippers I've had the misfortune of buying.
Just to make my day even more joyous I returned home to find an envelope with a bowel test kit inside with my name on it!
House and Caravan insurance sorted out. Wish I could say the same about our energy tariff.
Sounds like an absolutely smashing stand out day TG.👍

The Brues have been listening to nocturnal visitors in the roof recently ( a not infrequent occurence but usually sorted...) We were guessing on bats or squirrels, maybe mice, worst case scenario, rats.
Anyway lying in bed listening to the sound of tiny feet in the early hours I heard the humane trap go and we retrieved a "happy little" field mouse this morning, peanut butter on the menu.
So more trap setting tonight. Can't quite work out the entrance tactics but we did have some roses growing up near the guttering, now trimmed back.
It surprising how loud the noise is, I actually expected a huge rat!!
So to re-use TGs happy phrase "isn't it great when things go well."
(Good to hear you all had such a nice time TG.)

And you thought 'pooh sticks' was an AA Milne thing, WN.
Although a grass site here in Oxford, the wardens have creatively parked the MH's on the access tarmac spurs utilising them as impromptu 'hard standing'. It's a bit like a giant Tetris puzzle for them so that they don't end up with trade union rules -first in last out. MH's and camper vans outnumber caravans by a ratio of about four to one. Unfortunately, being a bit of an old-fashioned site, there is no drive-over grey waste so a few trips with a bucket on Wednesday morning.

Thanks for this, will see if I can access it online👍

It will be a comfy double😁 the Remoska sounds a great idea.
OH has been wrangling with Mum’s dishwasher today, trying to fit the part that the machine indicates is faulty. No joy, so it’s going. Replacement ordered. It’s done eight hard years, so not too bad as things go.
Got MH all sorted out for a nice day out tomorrow, including having a meal in her. Hope it stays dry now, hasn’t been a bad day at all here.

WN, Brue, Redkite, thanks it was a lovely day, expensive but lovely.
Glad to hear MIL has some new slippers that meet her very strict criteria.
I miss the noise of military exercises RK, living next to Army camps for 20 years you get used to them, the big Chinook helicopters were my favourite you could 'feel' when they were coming in to land.
Although we live in the country, mice is something we have not yet had the pleasure of. Bats could be something we might get as there is quiet a colony of them down at the Mill, we often see them flying around at dusk in the summer time.
Phones are now all set up, OH had a bit of an issue with his new one. He thought everything had transferred across to the new one but after taking his old one back to factory settings so I could use it he discovered his note book hadn't transferred across
he keeps lots of info in the note book so he was rather annoyed and that's putting it mildly, the air was several shades of blue
Have a nice day out TDA.
CY one of the sites we stayed on in northern Spain had to put the MHs on the site roads, the grass was like a wet sponge if you put even a foot on it. It was the only site open for miles as lots had closed up early. We were very grateful to have found it so no complaints at all, had a good night actually.

Especially for ABM, yesterday as we towed up Lindale Hill we passed a convoy, moving at about 10mph, of 2 traction engines towing a trailer on which was an old locomotive with a further one pushing it along, heading towards Haverthwaite Railway station. I was only able to get this photo of the front half as it passed our road end. Perhaps you will be able to see better shots in one of your magazine.

Why, That's most kind of you my Friend
But er er er Don't know how to phrase this BUT the rear engine ain't actually pushing -- it's the one providing the brakes
.
Just think though that the COP thingy would see my beloved T.E.'s off the road as well as things that run on rails like wot they do in Yorkshire etc -- lots of charity trains etc have a dark tunnel in front of them. Very Sad

I suppose I should have set an alarm for the start of Tesco Christmas ordering. Logged on at 8am two hours after the opening and there was a 20 minute queue with 20,000 in it.☹️ It did flow smoothly, but by the time I got in at 8:22, every single home delivery slot for Christmas week had gone. Fortunately I did manage to pick up a click and collect, although there weren’t many of them left. They did at least still have everything we wanted in stock.😀 I don’t know if they are going to release any more slots, as today was supposed to be for those with a delivery pass and without you had to wait until next week to book. Perhaps it’s the rumours of shortages that has prompted it, but it seems much busier / difficult to get a slot than last year.

A bit of a challenge Steve, at least you can collect. I've noticed with Waitrose that quite a few Christmas type items are already unavailable, waiting to see if they appear later. Has someone ordered all the nuts with shells...?!

We have had our Waitrose Christmas slot booked for at least a month now. I hope Brue is wrong about the availability, otherwise it will be egg and chips for Christmas Lunch

Tesco wouldn’t let you until today and then only for delivery pass customers. Last year they were pushing the pass and I think there might now be so many with one, it has resulted in slots being massively oversubscribed. They did at least have availability on everything we wanted, so that was a plus. The pick up point is under petrol station like canopies in the car park, so well ventilated.
I was going to default back to M&S, picking up in store. However, having popped in the other day, for the first time since February 2020. I decided there was no way you would get me in this Christmas. It a rather old store, the only one still open in North Nottinghamshire and with its narrow aisles, even on a quiet day seemed busy. On a Christmas it is normally like a rugby scrum.😂

We used M&S for several years too. OH did the collecting, we liked the food. Yes I hope stocks keep up with demand but we've been informed by our faithful co-op that they will have "real" nuts in nearer Christmas...so hopefully all is not lost.

We have ordered a nice piece of beef for Christmas day but have no idea until it comes to the delivery day whether we will get it or whether there will be a substitute? I suppose they might let us know if there is a problem before the delivery? The delivery slot is a couple of days before Christmas so if it goes pear shaped I suppose we can always risk a run into the shop to see what else they have?

We get much of our food from M&S but we get it delivered through Ocado. I wouldn’t want go near a supermarket around Christmastime!!! We have found Ocado very good, yes as usual, there are items missing and M&S has been no different from Waitrose or Sainsbury’s in that respect - so far.

Running out of essential tablets so I phoned the GPs last Friday, receptionist said, ‘fine, it will be pinged to the pharmacy today”. Still very under the weather so OH went today (tues afternoon)to collect them for me. Told,’oh we can’t make them up that quickly they won’t be ready until tomorrow’. Seriously they are a packet of essential but off the shelf tablets. OH said, well I’ve queued for 25 mins can’t you just do it now? ‘No, and she must give us more time in future!’ They were fortunate that he went not me. I remember before Covid you could take the script in and wait for medication. Is it me being unreasonable or our chemist?
0 -
A similar length of time for our GP. I did my repeat prescription online on Sunday ( so would have been dealt with Monday) and it said can be collected from tomorrow, Wednesday. I will not be collecting it until Friday, the only time I tried on the day it wasn’t ready until the afternoon.
0 -
Sorry didn’t make it clear that is collected from the Chemist tomorrow. I’ve no idea how long they take pinging it across. I agree though I do not see why the chemist couldn’t do it there and then, or in a short time if the pharmacist was absent. In the past I have had to wait because, although medication could be assembled, it had to be signed off by the pharmacist who was not on the premises.

We have to wait five working days for prescriptions, which usually means a week. They text me when it's ready. We have to order on line or use a gp group phone line, not our own gp.
Went to see the James Bond film, No Time to Die this afternoon. I went equipped with a flask and biscuits! OH didn't put enough in the car park machine so nearly missed the end...a quick sprint out to top up! Good film but too long and a bit sad at the end....
will miss Daniel Craig.
Haven't seen a Bond film at the cinema for years, this one wasn't a typical Bond.
