Thanks WN, hope all goes well for you as well. I know what you mean about Sites, I had Wirral planned, but it’s shut now, so elsewhere calling.  Wales still on our radar, but depends on weather next month, and a few other things. We have a plan B, and a plan C😂

Definitely a car transporter and looks as though it's empty as she is riding quite high. Container ships wouldn't generally affect her schedule though as they don't use the same berths.

Solent down to 11C now, so definitely a wet suit job. Mine is up in the loft somewhere, not having struggled into it for about 20 years. Must put it on EBay.

Talking of HGV drivers........we followed an absolutely huge logistics HGV (triple rear axles) around one big local roundabout, and through the uniquely engineered go cart course that masquerades as our main through town route for traffic last night. It was fairly obvious he wasn’t familiar with the challenge, so we hung back and let him weave, overhang, his way round the roundabout (which is, I kid you not, square🤷‍♀️), then veer back into the lane he suddenly found he needed to be in, before trying to tackle the hair pin bend into our big Tesco unloading area. He got round with a shunt or two, but it’s a good job we realised the challenge he had on, or we might have been squeezed if not squashed had we been up alongside him. I can see a bit of traffic furniture needing replacing in the future.........

Yup probably right, but still nothing in the deep water channel this morning, news reports said that many container ships waiting offshore as no room in the ports for them to off load. I will try to get a photie of a container ship next time i see one, in the meantime you will just have to make do with the ice cream man laughing

CY, - Never too late in life to wear a wetsuit. We both wore our new ones in Cornwall this year.-  Any fool can be cold!

Hopefully if we get abroad next year I won't need it as much but have worn a shorty in lots of places.

Having a lazy morning so far, OH gone to see his friends at the Men's Shed then going on to see his Mum in the care home. No appointments needed now just make sure you take a LFT and have the result on your phone when you arrive.

GP's not sure how good/bad ours are at the moment, I know they are short staffed at times. We still have the system in place that you call at 08.00 to fight for an appointment, which could be a telephone call first to check if they need to see you in person or depending on what your complaint is an appointment face to face will be offered. We can NOT email our surgery re medical matters. we can ask for repeat prescriptions, we can complain by email but it clearly states NO Medical queries. Good job we are both in good health (fingers crossed)

Not sure about syringing of ears, I know it was halted during Covid but if audiology say it needs doing, then it needs doing and you shouldn't have to pay for it. Our practice stopped  doing anything that required 'freezing' due to cost and lack of staff to do it. The cost of the gas used to be covered by the NHS but now GPs have to pay for it themselves. The Nurse who was qualified to carry out the work retired.

Just had a call from OH he can't see his Mum after all, despite doing LFT, why, because we haven't been back from abroad for 10 days yet. Would have been nice if they had told him that yesterday when he phoned them. yell Guess I'd better go and get dressed now he's on his way home surprisedembarassed

GPs: Even before Covid we had to phone at 8am, tell the receptionist the symptoms, then a Dr or maybe a nurse calls you back, sometime that day, up until the evening. Neither of us have actually got to see a GP in a decade, despite OH having a big operation two years ago. OH should go for an issue that he has but he says what is the point, they wont see me. Before our lovely GP partners retired it was the best service ever, then it all changed overnight.

     I like wetsuits! - I've got 2 full length (a 5/3 and a new 3/2) and a shorty.

Like you, the shorty is normally taken in the suitcase and is ideal in the warm seas of the carribbean etc, the extra buoyancy allowing you to float and stay out longer whilst marvelling at the sealife.

We are trying to decide on our January escape to warmer places - Gran Canaria or the Carribbean - one of those is leading at present!

    Thanks Francis.

It's definitely handy for a lot of things.

We just find the hustle and bustle around the area not to our liking rather than the actual site itself.

No contest, the Caribbean at that time of year.

Exactly the way we use ours, the full suits are left over from our diving days. Suppose we could take up paddle boarding and get some use out of them undecidedlaughing

We are considering a cruise out to the southern Caribbean for Jan as its our golden wedding anniversary, just not sure I'm ready to mix with hundreds of people in a confined space yet.

. I hear Nellie's making tracks to somewhere nearby next week and I might grace them with our presence, if he behaves himself.🤣

There's no chance of that, not my way, but I think OH will make sure I rein in my excesses, so hopefully you will see your way for both of you to put in an appearance.😂

Tda, that sounds like a grand day out yesterday. Hope the scan results are good for your OH.

A fine but chilly day, cold enough for me to abandon my shorts!!surprised Drove over to Elmley Castle where we had a walk around the village and up some of the way onto Brecon Hill. Then onto Broadway for a further village walk. Last night here before a short drive tomorrow to one of our favourite CLs, The Old Orchard at Ombersley, where we plan to meet up with our son & DIL.

Just recovering from a disturbed night  yell, followed by a S...L...O...W  drive from Crewe to Nantwich following a trailer being towed by a cloud of smoke n steam  laughingsmile.

Up in the night ( old men  harumph  embarassed ) to see the outside lights come on  --  saw a shadow doing a runner, but kept awake a good half hour using a big fully charged handlamp, nobody to be seen tho' .  Later gave the Ducky a charging run ( must get a new battery for its Christmas prezzy, )  only to be held up  by an Aveling and Porter steam roller towing its living van  innocentsmilecool  Not complaining about that of course -- just wish they had textededed me to say where they were bound and in time for me to get the Canon & telephoto lens dusted off grrrrrr  wink.

The people opposite us are having their house re-roofed so a lorry arrived first thing this morning with the scaffolding, The men spent the first half an hour sitting in the lorry having a tea break surprised

My cousin who lives in Poole rang this afternoon so we had a lovely half an hour catching up on all the news.

Another day spent trying to clear out our garage.  DD was not here to supervise me, but I have been cutting wood to send to our son for his woodburner.  Keeping it in the garage meantime, so OH is complaining that the garage floor is not getting any clearer.

We are going  to buy some IKEA IVAR shelving for the garage, but have just discovered that our Glasgow store has hardly any shelves, which are essential, so we may need to go all the way to Edinburgh to get the parts we need, which will add at least £25 in fuel costs.   😟

A LOT of very loud fireworks going off here, mainly from our Indian neighbours who apparently have plenty of money to burn!

No prejudice on our part, we are friendly with many of them, especially a widowed lady up the road who has a daughter the same age as our son and often invites us for a  very delicious meal.

The main problem here is between the Indian families themselves, we keep strictly out of it!

Chexk it out before you go; our neighbours wanted some specific items back in August, they were told it wouldn't be in stock until end October. Couldn't reserve items either. So they checked, double-checked and triple-checked before going last week. Make sure Edinburgh have got what you want before setting off.

Yes, they are in stock at present, we plan to do a "click and collect" order this evening to make sure we can get all we want.  Free if you spend over £100.

Moved what must be the shortest distance we have ever done changing sites, all of 12 mls, but to a totally different area. There has been a fireworks display going on for at least 90 mins somewhere in the distance. Not near enough to produce any loud bangs & Flyte is taking no notice thankfully.

Thankfully no fireworks here although we do sometimes see some locally on New year's eve, NTH our last Springer Jasper did not bother about firework noises even took him to the local one when we lived in Somerset and he watched them all going off as if to say well what is all the fuss about.

We went shopping to a different village yesterday and to find the local Utile is expanding in size must be doing well and on the way back through our village stopped to look at local notice board out the Maire's and seen from Monday until the 18th we have a huge military excercise going on as we are about 8 miles from Caylus military camp about 2000 personnel including 200 from the UK so there will be a lot of activity going on including planes flying over and a lot of parachutists dropping over a large area and helicopters flying around as well so will get camera out if any over here as we are in one of the marked areas for activity if it gets to noisy  will get a pair of ear defenders out of OH's shed haha.

A very chilly and foggy morning was -1.4C on the weather station at 8.30am brr.

    Have a good weekend folks.

Daughter unwell, she has a serious back problem, so there all day yesterday clearing up and four loads of washing done. Three loads brought home and now trying to get it dry, not easy in our shady, windless garden. Think the tumble dryer will be in use later. Our lovely teenage granddaughter, who is also disabled is stopping with us for the weekend to make things a little easier for our daughter, with the other two granddaughters stopping at home. Last week we packed up most of our static van for the winter. All the patio furniture wrapped up there now. Then home to clear the garden of a million leaves, and only half of them fallen from the trees in the wood at the end of our garden. This morning I am really feeling my age.

Sorry to hear about your daughter Debsc, hope she gets some relief soon, back, pain is never nice.

Quite a quiet night around here last night, just hope tonight is the same. It’s a lovely day here, bright and sunny, so we shall be off for a walk soon. Just pondering on when we can fit in a short local break, hopefully a nice CL we use will have a few nights free. Got my C19 booster tomorrow, then Jeep in for service and MOT Monday, my dreaded appointment with hospital dentist is this week, not looking forward to that😬.

Leaves🍁🍂🍁 We have beech trees at end of garden, it’s a major task. Lots still to come down, I like hand raking, good exercise, but it will take a few days.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter DEBSC and hope she feels better soon and that your work load decreases. Although I am sure that your are enjoying having you grand-daughter with you.

Best of luck with the hospital dentist TDA. Never nice and best of luck with the covid booster.

We had a very noisy evening here last night with the fireworks.  I hope we don't get a repeat this evening. At least we don't have our cats any more - they hated them.
