That sounds like a scary experience for both you and Mr H Millie I do hope they get to the bottom of it. Best wishes

Very glad to hear you went straight to A&E Millie, luckily you were the passenger not the driver, a very tiring end to your day. Hope the tests go well, look after yourself!
We had sad news that our son's disabled friend is very poorly, they have been pals for years, our son met him through riding for the disabled.
I've been up early getting "the studio" opened up etc. Visitors arrived early wanting to do prints, left daughter in charge, having a break with a coffee just now.
A bit damp and humid here.
Hope the weekend goes well for everyone.

Sorry to hear your medical problems Millie, just make sure you follow what they say in the stroke clinic
We were at FM last December with some friends when she had a full blown stroke
,Full marks to site managers who sent ambulance shortest route to their pitch
and waited at exit to get it out as quick as possible to Peterborough hospital,She is quite a large lady and it was thought the fire brigade might be needed to assist(they were sent for.but stood down) when several members all gave assistants to get he out of their MC and into ambulance she spent all Xmas in Hospital and her OH was "found a pitch"on site for the durationShe had had a Tia earlier and two since ,she has been told the stroke may have been avoided if she had followed instructions given after first Tia .
So listen and follow what your medical professionals say!!!!

Yes very frightening, and well done to your OH for getting you to A&E so quickly Millie. I hope things go well for you with the tests and onwards. My Mum had a TIA in her 70’s, she didn’t even know she had had one her symptoms were luckily so mild. She is 93 next, and never had a hint of one since thankfully, so I hope this follows for you😁

So sorry to hear about your daughter's problems EasyT. Though it sounds as though she has a very good support worker.
She seems a good lady Millie. I donated £100 to the charity this morning as a thankyou and sent an e-mail to my daughter to tell her as she can see that she is appreciated.

Milliehull I'm sorry to hear of your suspected TIA. Huge praise to your OH on acting fast. Good to be in the system, hopefully it will be the one and only. Nice that you'll get a few days with son, every cloud........
EasyT generous gift. Such a shame (don't want to be political but sometimes they operate better!) they are funded by donations. But oh how grateful we are for such services.
Very grey and humid here, but of damp this morning. I fear it may not burn off today 😫

About 24 years ago a McMillan Nurse who had attended my wife and a few years later spotted me going for a 5 year review with my oncologist. When she asked how I was I said 'Fine' and she asked how I really was and I told her truthfully. (I was in a deep depression and Psychiatry was useless). She asked to join me on my appointment and later arranged counselling at Nightingale House Hospice, Wrexham. The following Christmas I sent a card to both and donated £100 to each and in that case a donation has been given every year and so around £2,300 to each by now and worth every penny for giving me my life back.

MillieH, I Hope that you recover fully from your problems and congratulations to your OH because it is so very easy for the on-lookers / by-standers to over-react or freeze in such situations and end up doing the sufferer no good at all. Must be the benefits gained from gardening & waiting patiently ( pun intended
) for the grass to grow !Could have done with a touch of patience myself this very morning ~~ up like a lark, most unusually, and off to do some shopping at Tesco's in Crewe. Very nice to know that there is no national shortage of fuels and so no need to panic buy ~~ great pity the eejits blocking the s/market access ignored the information. I ended up behind two artic lorries delivering supplies of food to tescos stuck in the single lane access road. Eventually I got past the muppets, parked up, hit the ATM, grabbed a trolley & risked the travelator. On reaching the top I could see that the car I had been behind still had not got off the road onto the fuel pump access area ~~ didn't bother to look on my way out to see if they were still there .
Muppets ~~ Barmpots ~~ Numpties ~~ { add your own epithets

The transport secretary (our mp Grant Shapps) cancelled at short notice this morning a media meeting at our local Tesco store ,to promote the installation of "free?" (not really)EV charging points sponsored by VW at most of their stores

Was it anything to do with the idiots in queues obstructing both access roads to the retail park for fuel at the tesco fuel station

It has been good for us to give it a go Easyt, after a few panics!
Nice to read of your meeting up with someone who helped you when you needed it, you never forget these events.
Tea break here, I have been thinking about Goldie who welcomes lots of visitors!

No Brue, even now I tear up when I think of the goodness shown to me and my getting my life back. Such help allowed me to help others by running a singles/social group for over 20 years. A lot of work and a lot of fun and for me important as many people that joined had been damaged by life.

The queuing for fuel mayhem is happening here as well. We only wanted a gallon of petrol for MG, take her for a test run. Passed one garage with all pumps out of use, drove up to another, this had no diesel left but plenty of petrol. Tesco garage over the road, they were queuing down the dual carriageway.
I doubt your man didn’t want to get caught up in queues JV. More likely he didn’t want to be seen at all given what is happening generally at the moment. 😎

Test drive went well.😁Needs a few tweaks, but she flies again!

As others have said Millie I am glad to see it turned out fine at the end of the day but do keep on top of it. Good luck. At least the visit from your son should help take your mind off it.
We had a near 4 hour drive, too long for me nowadays, to our booked C.L. near Ironbridge en route home. We'll be here for a few nights. There were several hold ups but all of it due to the weight of traffic, although having cars queueing on the road to get into petrol stations didn't help.
Didn't do anything else after we arrived. Out tomorrow though.

A surprisingly straight forward journey across the Prince of Wales bridge (as we now seem to have to call it) into the principality this morning and perfectly timed for lunch at a really nice pub, The Ship at Port Eynon (they were very disappointed that we decided to sit outside and wouldn't bring the dogs inside to meet all the regulars!
)As we were asked not to arrive at the cottage until 3pm, we drove down to the NT car park at Rhossili (spelt correctly now
) for a coffee and a stroll down towards Worms Head. The path over looks a bit dodgy with dogs so I might decide to do it solo later in the week. The cottage is fabulous, looking out onto the Bristol Channel and hopefully a view of Lundy tomorrow.
Plenty of space, so I should be able to find a spare room to disappear to when Strictly starts shortly!

Take care Millie and glad now feeling better.
Had a very warm day here 28.5C and very little wind and now going very cloudy ready for the storm later, well all tyres done on both cars OH has checked all pressures and all too high so now adjusted he will also check wheel nuts with Torque wrench tomorrow just to make sure all ok, did do some diy and food shopping whilst waiting as shop next to tyre garage.
Great photos TDA a good looking car anymore work to be done?
Know what you mean re long drives WN I start fidgeting after two and half hours either as a driver or passenger so we find somewhere to stop and have a walk about to stretch the joints and glad now settled on your next CL.
Off to friends for lunch tomorrow and sort a few things out with them ie. me for a haircut before they go back to the UK.

nelliethehooker sorry to hear Flyte's eyes are not much better. Dora had a bit of a problem earlier, the suspected a pollen allergy, it was when the grasses were longer and pretty. 2 lots of drops, second lot with Piriton, worked really well, in fact if you were this way I could give you some of them!
B2, thanks for the offer, but it's a bit far from West Cornwall to just pop over for the drops
His left eye is the worst and has turned milky, so perhaps it's a bit more than just an allergy or conjunctivitis. We will see how it goes over the next couple of days before doing anything more as there is still some of his current drops left.0 -
We too are sorry to hear of your "funny turn" millie and it was certainly fortunate that you were not behind the steering wheel when it occurred. Glad to read that you are now feeling better and hopefully it will not happen again.
Glad that the test drive went well, tda. That MG is just the vehicle for a spin through the Dales. Daughter and SIL have recently got a small Mazda sports car, and are out most weekends on a run.
Sounds like a rather tiresome journey, WN, but pleased to read that you made it to the CL ok.
Brue, it looks like you and your daughter have had a very interesting, if busy, week
It has been a dull but pleasantly warm day today. Drove over to the N/T car park at Pentire and walked the round to the Rumps and Pentire Point, back by Pentireglaze Haven. Lots of people out in the water of Gayle Bay, swimming, surfing and on paddle boards. Drove back through Polzeath and Rock, where there was a queue of about 10 cars at the filling station, even with diesel at £1.44 per litre. Popped into the village inn for a jar of Doom Bar after getting back to the site.

we drove down to the NT car park at Rhossili (spelt correctly now wink) for a coffee and a stroll down towards Worms Head.
Moulesy, we were there earlier this year, but did the walk in the opposite direction, up over Rhossili Downs and back along the bottom before wandering out to the Look-out Station and beyond. Don't think OH would allow me to venture over to Worms Head on my own, and there would be no way that she would venture into those rocks these days. It's a great place for a walk though.

Thanks Red Kite. Tappets were knocking a bit, bit more paintwork, new LEDs to replace some of light fittings, and I did suggest we treat ourselves to a new hood. So OH has a big smile on his face now. We like the pack away hood rather than the fold down, at one time we had all three types as we had a Targa top as well. This leaked like a sieve, but some fool bought it off us on Ebay😂 we have owned it since 1996, used it regular for a few years, but when we got three dogs it was one too many to shoe horn them in😂 Not had a go at getting pooch in it yet, he’s probably too big to be honest. He won’t be impressed. The engine sounds lovely, that roar as you pull away. 40mph feels fast, but then it’s like sitting on a very low skateboard. We have found going over humps a bit easier than we thought, if we can straddle two, but low speed required. Given the state of our roads round here, it got a good shaking, but nothing fell off, so that’s a bonus. The interior is brand new. I bought it for my OH twenty years ago, shows how little use it has had in last two decades. Big decision might be respray, do we stick with Teal Blue🤔

Aha😁 you are in Cornwall. Hope you have some nice weather. Sorry to hear about Flyte. This is a very good vets practice we have used while down there, they might have a practice not too far away should you need one...https://www.kernowvetgroup.com/about-us/our-clinics
If you get further down, another good vets is Head and Head at Watermatrout (yes, really) Helston. Hope he picks up for you. Tinny or Moulesy might know of others as well of course.

We have used 2 of the Kernow Group in recent years and the Watermatrout one decades ago as an emergency. Penmellyn is another group practice. There’s no shortage of vets in Cornwall.

I think Nellie is near Wadebridge, we've used one of the vets there in the past. Hope Flyte is now OK Nellie. Plenty of big beach runs near Rock!
Our local filling station in a nearby village has sold out of fuel. Wonder how long it will take to refuel all these places?!

We fortunately managed to fill up on Friday morning. There was only a five minute queue. However, it was being constantly added to, so unless they had another deliver on the way their supplies wouldn’t last long. I must admit I didn’t heed the advice to fill as normal. Generally I would let the MH get to a quarter full but did it at a half. At least now with careful driving we could get close on 600 miles. Just as well I filled first thing, as when we called in at the Tesco close to our next site the fuel station was closed for refurbishment.
