I think some one has had a problem here, as when taking Rosa out there is a Black skidding tyre trail all round the site, seems to start at one of the car parks

Site very full only noted about two empty pitches and according to site map there are 199 touring pitches
Is there are two quite long wooded dog walks on site

Never talk about your posts to my OH, response would be "why cant you do all that stuff", never was great at DIY
was on pool cleaning duty yesterday at Alverstoke daughters place, dont mind too much as i use the pool quite often as well as my sea swimming, was quite surprised at just how much dirt there is at the water level, we have some special cleaning stuff specific for pools and it was quite noticeable just how clean it looked when i had done the whole perimeter.
Grass cutting today at home and down the Beach house, get it all done before the weekend, Sunday we are having a family picnic in Tring and will scatter MIL's ashes at the same time, she loved her picnics so will be a good send off.
Today it is a wee bit cloudy but no rain, Lee-onSolent festival weekend so hope it stays dry for them, funfair and parades so should bring some much needed revenue into the town

Not sure if all the details are up and running yet but they'll be on this web site, www.someresetartworks.org.co the event is Somerset Open Studios Sept 18th -Oct 3rd.
Another good event coming up is Wells 21 Contemporary "Temple Farrago" 28th Aug -28th Sept. A global art exhibition at Wells Cathedral.
So plenty to keep you busy!

Re the pool cleaning. The top six inches are where all the nasties lurk. Oil off bodies, sun tan creams and cosmetics, spit, snot, leaves and dust to mention a few!🤢 We used to call it “the scum line” I once spent a whole day doing the inside of a leisure pool, We used to find all sorts on the pool bottom as well, including diamond rings!😁

I know what you mean and although i never use sun tan creams except on my head where my bonnet is a bit thin, the Gkids and friends just pile in, expected you to comment as i remembered you had worked in the leisure industry, fortunately ours was not too bad as the pump has been broken so it has only been in service 3-4 weeks, but it took me a couple of hours

The water is warming up nicely in Cornwall TDA, not long before you can use these outdoor pools!

Thanks Brue😁 Another good reason for going in September. We like to swim at Porth Kidney, but I might brave the Lido in Penzance this year. OH has to use a wet suit nowadays, but I am still ok in just my cozzie at the moment. That looks like Cape Cornwall in your photo there😁 The huge tidal pools left in the caves at Chapel Porth are usually lovely this time of year, they get very warm on a hot day. But you don’t risk getting cut off by tide there😱

Mixture of sun and rain showers so far today.
Caravan now empty ready to go for its service.
Lots more kit discovered that has managed to creep in over the year. Some will need to go into MH but some can get put back in OHs shed. He is a one for clutter, sends me mad.

TDA. Yes it's Cape Cornwall and our lot have been in without their wet suits so it must be OK!? The lido will be lovely with it's thermal heating. Early September is the best for sea temps, I might be tempted on the Dorset coast when the crowds have gone. Doesn't look too busy in West Penwith does it?

We got back from NI a few days ago and life seems to have been rather busy since we got back for some reason. I should have been having my 2nd cataract op today but it has been cancelled. Lack of staff due to a 'pingdemic' apparently. It has been rescheduled for the 24th. It is a real nuisance as I have to self isolate beforehand and I had made all sort of plans for next weekend.
Pleased to hear that everyone's holiday plans seem to be going well and all are having a good time. I hope your scan goes well WN and you get a good result. What a little poppet hedlo. We are having a 'house guest' next week. Eldest son and DIL have got a new kitten so we are having her here while they go over to NI. It's years since we had a kitten so it will be a bit of a 'learning curve'.
We got to Mount Stewart last week but the rain was torrential so we didn't see much of the gardens unfortunately. We had a good look round the house though and there is a very good exhibition about the recent research they have done into a terrible boating accident in which a lot of the staff and some of the guests were drowned about 100 years ago.
I hope you are having a good day with your son and grandson bakers2.

Aha, that’s not Cape Cornwall, it’s The Gribben😁
Edit no I was right first time. West Penwith with is usually a bit quieter, away from St Ives etc. We usually don’t mind walking to a beach, but might be a bit more difficult this year with pooch. We can push him over dunes to Porth Kidney though luckily. Otherwise it might just have to be Mounts Bay. Not a bad compromise. We like to swim early morning or evening if it’s warm enough

Sorry your op has been cancelled Millie, but glad you got across the water to see your family. The kitten should be fun😂

Thanks Brue.
Looks like the Open studies are a bit too late for us as we'll have moved on to east Dorset. Might just catch one or two on the eastern fringes when we move up to near Marlborough after Dorset. We'll just make the Wells one before moving to North Devon at the end of August.
Good luck to you and your daughter.

Early lunch for me then off down the coast to the hospital. Have to take the back roads as don't want to risk the main A55 on a Friday in August. It's always chaos.
Thanks for well wishers but things should be straightforward. They better be.

Because Devon is so crowded, and because the van fridge freezer was on the blink, we decided on a quick trip to our static van at Stratford. We thought that Stratford wouldn’t be too busy as no overseas visitors. Wrong! It was packed. ( but still not as bad as Devon) Probably due to the school hols. We visited two NT properties which were also packed. At least our site was lovely and quiet. It seems the site are selling loads of new vans, and they are not cheap. They are buying older vans back from anyone who wants to sell at good prices this year as they want the plots. Sadly, due to personal circumstances our next door neighbour and a near neighbour have taken them up on this offer. We now wait as to who will be our new neighbours, the others were lovely, fingers crossed. In such a bad year it would seem there is still some money about.

"We like to swim early morning or evening if it’s warm enough"
always said us Lancastrians were made of sterner stuff than Yorkshire folk, only worn a wet suit once when i did a diving test to join the submarine service, been wild swimming since i was old enough to swim and sea swim at least 4 times per week May thru September, used to Loch swim when we lived in Scotland

The East Coast Bread basket is harvesting👍🏻. The Arable Farmers will be particularly happy this year, big profits on the horizon👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Have been listening to the combines here, can't see them, our hedges are very overgrown...another job on the list.
Millie sorry to hear about the op delay although good to hear you have the next date. A pity it poured with rain at Mount Stewart, maybe you'll see it again in the future?
Debsc, being fairly local to Stratford when young I can't remember it ever being quiet but I still like going there. Hope your new neighbours on site will be ok.
OH has just sent a whatsapp video of fully flushing new toilet in daughter's bathroom. He has had to move the loo so I expect it's a RELIEF!
They will have to manage with basic but now working facilities on return from their holiday as we are soon off on our short break to mid Devon near the Taw.. Our planned walks are curtailed due to my wonky foot but I can cope with a walk to the pub and a break from cooking on at least one day.
Have a good weekend one and all, I don't know what happened to the promised sunshine but at least it's dry and warm.

Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

Well Scafell Pike was a boulder minefield while the paths to Skiddaw are wide and smooth.
Yes coldish, about 10C but with a 30/40 mph wind on the summit.

Oye you😂 I have swum off Scarborough in February I will have you know! OH had a heart attack three years ago, he now HAS to wear a wet suit or the cold water shock might kill him. Mind, he could get knocked off his bike by a bus as well, but they haven’t designed a suit for that yet😂 River Dart was a tad chilly a couple of years ago🥶

...you'll have to be very careful you don't get mixed up.... jam or cream on first!! 😃 Here's one from our visit to Healey's Cyder Farm from yesterday......
