Another one of those days where the rain arrived in the morning then disappeared after lunch so we drove the 2 miles to a car park and walked down towards Llanddwyn Island just off Newborough. There is the remains of a church on the island which is accessible at low tide. Unfortunately the tide wasn't low enough for us to venture that far down the empty beach.

Both photos taken from the same place. One looking to the opposite bank across the Malltreath Straits and the other towards the island with Snowdonia in the background. You can se the difference in the weather. Anyway it was pleasant 6 mile walk. Got back to the caravan, took our boots off locked the car and within 1 minute the heavens opened. Phew.

Tammy, can you add that site to Ttdas thread about small sites in UK section. I'll be making a note of it. Sounds a lovely day.

Ttda, Monsal tunnel is well lit. In fact we walked through it last year on the last day before both us and the Nellies went our separate ways and lockdown descended upon us.

I remember doing that walk the last time we were on Anglesey, WM, but the tide was out and we managed to get down into the sands.

It rain all night here too, JVB, but was dry when we got up. We went to Colby Woodland Garden (N/T) this morning and walked down to the shore at Amroth. We did have the odd short shower then the heavens opened just before we got back to the car. After lunch had a second walk up through the Rhododendron woods and luckily it stayed dry. Then drove over to Wiseman's Bridge and walk the old line, through the tunnels to the outskirts of Saundersfoot, which was rather busy so we soon about turned.

Those in Scotland seem to be having the best of the weather, and enjoying their stay. Will the restrictions in place in Moray affect those travelling there in any way?

SteveL, you are just down the road from us, we are at Poolewe, lovely area. Where are you heading next, we are going north to Clachtoll.

We are moving to where you are currently on Monday. Specifically to visit the gardens. Unfortunately then we have to start our homeward run as the MH is booked in for a service, delayed due to covid, Did think about putting it off but there are warranty implications. Hopefully back to Edinburgh in June.🤞

Shopping up here is a bit different, only one shop and quite often not much choice if the delivery man is due. Bread was £1.79 and 4 pints of milk £1.75. When you are used to Aldi and Lidl prices it comes as a shock. 😁

Only £1.79 eh? You lucky girl. Try buying Gluten Free bread and see how much that costs, especially per slice. £2.50 for about 12 slices for me.smile

We knew some rain was due about 11ish today so stayed local and went to the nature reserve just up the road for an hour and a half. Got home and, yep, rained. This afternoon though has been lovely but some on site complaining the north and east coast of the islands wet. We went for a walk for a good 5 miles on the west coast without any rain and a good bit of sunshine.

We had an email from some friends in Norfolk asking whether "You 2 Gypsies are likely to be home mid June as we're heading your way". Typical of their bad luck as we ARE.laughing So, it will be nice to see them again. Have to see if we can manage something as one of them can't walk very far.

Hope those away are having fun.

WN.....you have friends?😯😁🤣 Seriously, the thoughts of saying an outside based hello with friends and family again is something we are looking forward to, fingers crossed🤞

Wet day here as well, although we did manage a good walk this morning in the dry and sunshine. But the rain has kept me out of the garden today. Sadly couldn’t find an excuse not to do a bit of domestic drudgery, but at least house is tidier😂

Mum day for me tomorrow, then we have an evening vet appointment in Sheffield Tuesday, so going to take MH out for day, come back into City from West. Not sure where yet, might do Monsal Trail on bike, while OH gives pooch a long walk. Or maybe Ladybower.....🤔

We seem to be getting the better of the weather here in the NW. Yesterday was another dry one with lots of sunny periods. Took a walk from the site up through the remnants of the old Caledonian forest with it predominance of Scots Pine, some hundreds of years old, onto the flanks of Beinn Eighe. It was apparently the first designated UK National Nature Reserve back in 1951. If your lucky you might  get a glimpse of golden eagles. Unfortunately we had to content ourselves with the magnificent scenery. 😀

I've enjoyed reading about the various trips on here, Scotland is looking good Steve, especially with clear skies.

We had an amble out to Crossthwaite yesterday evening, I hadn't looked at the old church before, obviously can't go inside but the outside is very interesting, such an ancient spot.

We're taking it easy in Keswick!

    Very grey start here today,

Several aircraft this morning out of Luton, surprised gone quiet nowlaughing

Big  discussion last night  and a shuffle of our bookings, means we are not staying  at home now until 22nd June (possibly)have advised sprogs and our neighbours, will need a trip home via Commons Wood to readjust both vehicles  and can now lighten load carried

Now found OH much safer from falls in c/van, have also worked out easier method of transporting her buggycool

Wow, last 2 days have been great weather. So good yesterday that I caught the sun sitting outside the van when we got here.

What a drive that was, fantastic scenery. The last 5 miles were 'interesting' single roads passing places and blind summit's throw in a fair few bends and its like a rollercoaster. 😁😁😁

All worth it when you get here, the site is great, mix of mobiles, MHs, caravans and tents. The owners are everything you want them to be. We are very fortunate in that we have a front row pitch looking over the beach. The views take in Skye and Lewis and the coast going back to Ullapool. We did a nice walk this morning out across the beach and up the cliffs, lots of knee work and don't mine know it. This afternoon we did a 10 mile bike ride.

WN I will put both site's details on once I get back. If I can manage to put photos on I will if not I'll email you.

Nellie, Moray won't affect us on this trip as last stop is the CL at Dornoch

SteveL, enjoy Poolewe its a great place.

Hope everyone out and about is having as good a trip as us.

A full day out today as it was dry, occasionally sunny and sometimes even warm ( but not often).

Drove to Beaumaris and used our CADW membership to have a look around the castle. First day fully open. Nice if you like walls but as Edward 1 decided he needed the money to fight the pesky Scots instead of the pesky Welsh the castle remained incomplete. Cowboy builders if you ask me.

So we took ourselves off for a 6 mile circular walk along the beach and inland. A very enjoyable walk all told. Back for an ice cream.

Packed away most items as we're off home tomorrow. Enjoyed our stay on this new to us CL and have found something to do every day despite the weather trying hard to thwart us. Roll on next Tuesday as we're away again.

Went for my first paid for haircut in what must be 15 months today. When I got there it had changed hands having been run by the same guy for the last 10/15 years. The original owner has apparently set, I found this out later, up a new  barbers which is closer to me!!! Anyway it only cost me a tenner which included a tip.

Thanks Francis, we've had a nice time in Keswick, we tried the Bank Tavern last time we were here, working our way round! Moving on soon.

Not sure whether it's CT or site Wi-Fi but it's hard to get through.

A bit of a grey day yesterday, with only limited sunshine. It was however generally dry, which is the main thing. Currently at C&CC Poolewe, our first time on one of the other clubs sites. It is very well situated, just off the coast road along the side of Loch Ewe. (It is in the middle of the picture taken across the loch) Only a short walk one way into the village and the other way to NTS Inverewe Gardens. It’s a lovely little site, not quite as plush as the CC but perfectly adequate and substantially cheaper with old fogies discount.

Although it was its location that brought us here, to visit the gardens. However,I didn’t think it was going to be possible as the Web site said it was only open at the back end of the week, which was not the case when I checked a bit back. Fortunately although the visitors centre, shop etc are closed, the gardeners were working and access was allowed, although some paths were fenced off for maintenance. A gardener told us they currently haven’t enough people to open fully every day, although should be again in June. It was well worth the visit the Rhododendrons were large and spectacular. For anyone passing through rather than stopping at the site, there is plenty of dedicated MH parking.

Returned yesterday after 3 weeks in the sun in glorious Dorset, well not all the timefoot-in-mouth, we did have our moments when we thought the awning was going to end up in the sea, but in the main weather has been great, not very warm, but this makes for great walking weather, if anyone should visit can highly recommend Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens for a day out which has some fantastic views across Chisel beach and surrounding area, apparently the swanery is worth a visit also but not dog friendly so only saw from a distance>

Glad many are having great trips, we are off to Cornwall in a couple of weeks, are we missing Spain/France, not one bit and after speaking to our daughter yesterday it would appear they are going to introduce more visas just to make life difficult yell, so staycation for us certainly for this year

Glad everybody enjoying their breaks away and great photos, we are off 2 weeks this Saturday and staying in two different gites in the Cantal area an area I have always  wanted to go to, feel at this time better in a gite than our own van as it does not have a shower in, hopefully the weather is looking to improve and warmer.

Just been for 2nd jab a different nurse and more painful this time felt like a blunt needle even OH said his not as good as 1st jab, glad to be back home as I was driving, so a quiet afternoon, our friends are having theirs tomorrow, a friend of theirs is a senior nurse on Isle of Wight had hers a few days ago and ending up going to bed as she was so tired she has eased off give Corvid  jabs now as most of the island are done she has been doing a hundred jabs a day but also all the paperwork to go with it where as here we went into the waiting area and was called in and straight away to the nurse then 15 minute sit down and then given paperwork and will be sent certificate via email so from going in to jab 4 minutes not bad at all, got the shopping done as well even managed to get some new summer clothes from Leclerc when folk thought it was from tomorrow for clothes but assistant working with the clothes section no problem you can buy today so a lot folk looking at the clothes suddenly a lot of stuff going in the trolleys almost like a sale day ha ha.

Good to hear things are progressing for you RK.

We had a pleasant and easy drive home this morning. Bit of a faff when we pulled into the cul-de-sac as one removal van filling up whilst two others waiting to discharge. Still, managed to get the caravan parked up and unpacked. I was going to give it a quick wash but rain interrupted play.

    Did some food shopping instead.

    Feel refreshed.

Sunday started off sunny, so the washer came out, and while OH guarded the drying wash I took Flyte out for an hour's walk from the van. With the washing dry we headed off after lunch for a walk in Canaston Woods, and of course just as we arrived the rain came on so out with the brollies and we only walked down to Blackpool Bridge and Mill. Yesterday was a completely dry day,and we first visited Tenby. Not having been before we were pleasantly surprised, expecting a Blackpool clone and instead it was more like Whitby especially around the harbour and castle. From there we found a good car park up above the cliffs at Skrinkle Haven where we had lunch then a walk along the coastal path. Ended off the afternoon of our last day in Pembrokeshire with a visit to view Manorbier Castle.

Following a little rain overnight the morning started off fine so we got away dry. Ran into some rain as we headed north past the Presselli Hills, dry when we arrived on site but got caught in a shower as we finished setting up on our latest CL. Had a couple of light rain showers during our walk after lunch but we didn't get very wet, thankfully and now have a pleasant evening.

We've had a lovely run from west to east, leaving Keswick via Alston the views on Hartside were spectacular, as far as the Solway Firth. Hardly any traffic north via Rothbury and now on the coast near Seahouses..quite a change! Hope to have a family meet up at a local hostelry in a couple of days.

    Sites very busy.

Hope all the other breaks and home stays are good, I think our garden back home must be very soggy.

Brue sounds wonderful. Your garden maybe soggy but frost free fir at least another week, then hopefully all risk of frost will have gone.

Boring here but great progress being made on clearing loft items. Several dump and charity runs. New homes found for bits, including a delivery to grandson when we visit at the weekend 😃. One case for me to go through, the only box requiring OH attention still awaits him 🤐. Plus a suitcase of vinyl  which I suspect will require a dump run asconditions not conducive 😱🤐. I'll be putting a few bits back but aiming not to add further. Rest of house now neglected so will need a good clean!

Sounds like folks away are enjoying themselves.
