What an interesting stay at FM, we leave tomorrow, First a major power outage affecting the whole Park, very large shipping container size ICE generators keep site and some of park going for three days while the main underground power supply was in the words of those doing it "patched up as many we are doing"surprised

Another power cut last Saturday on site this time ,again a temp repairundecided

Yesterday a campervan arrived and not noticed by anyone until he had done the servic point and driven round looking for a "good" pitch his fuel pump was spewing diesel where ever he went smell is still quite pungent in places despite efforts by site staff to mitigate it frown

Contractors on site today to fix power fault ,so power off again,, and have detected fault as underground cable failed ,so have now isolated power to whole area we are on,  meaning site has lost 20+pitches until new cable laidsurprised,

We and two other pitches  next to us still have powerwink lucky it is not peak holiday periodembarassed

Weather was ok this morning for Rosa and myself walks and OHs buggy trip ,cool

All change this afternoon with very heavy thunder storms which has resulted in a couple of LVs having to move off really flooded pitchessurprised

Happy birthday DSB from us over here.

A mix bag of weather today some sun then heavy rain and an awful thunderstorm in the middle of the night and the rest of week not looking much better think we have got April weather instead of May.

Can remember staying at Hunter's moon site a few years ago and had a bad thunderstorm and the ground was rather wet and the site staff said that a member had asked if they could clear the water out of his awning as it had flooded with the rain they just made a channel in the hardstanding but his wife not happy as her shoes would get wet when she stepped into the awning from the caravan and the site was full heyho.

Very wet this morning, which hung on longer than forecast, so waited until this afternoon to go for our exercise. Walked to take a look at four burial cairns. They are only about 2km from the Culloden battlefield, as the crow flys, but are much older, by almost 4000 years. A really impressive nearby viaduct takes the main north south railway line over the river Nairn. The train is the 3:20 into Inverness, having just completed its transit of the Grampians.

    Happy birthday DSBsmile

Lovely sunny day till just now when it's started raining! Had my second jab yesterday and got the same reaction as last time, aches and pains, feeling very cold and very tired, and had to take a few naps throughout the day. Still it's starting to wear off now and all that reaction is better than the alternative!

Why not let them out as non EHU for a suitably adjusted fee. Is CAMC that lacking in imagination?

We learnt from experience that if heavy rain was forecast not to leave our shoes or coats in the awning but to bring them into the caravan!

What a wonderful day we have had. Today we went up to Fort William to board the 'Jacobite' steam train to Mallaig. First class carriage, table for 2 window seats, cream tea on our return journey.

We were a bit apprehensive this morning as we had awful rain last night and it was still raining as we arrived in Fort William but within a short time the rain stopped and it dried up.

By the time we got to Mallaig the sun had made an appearance so we decided to go on a boat trip. We saw seals and a porpoise, then back to the train for our journey back. After so much rain we saw some wonderful water falls.

If anyone is in this part of Scotland or planning a visit I can recommend this for a day out.

Yesterday we went to Oban, tomorrow our last day here we are hoping to go for a cycle ride, the cycle path runs past  the end of the private road this site is on, Oban one way, Fort William the other.

Poolewe is our next stop, not sure yet which way to go, follow the coast from here north or over to Inverness then back again to the west coast. As we are towing it may well be the latter.

Thanks for the good wishes folks.  Had a quiet day, but some good news from our eldest daughter (who lives on Lewis/ Harris). After several rounds of IVF, all of which failed, and after giving up on the idea of a family completely, she announced today that she is expecting a baby boy later in the year (she is 17 weeks on) - and not the result of IVF....😃.  We are all really pleased and are now hoping and praying for a successful 'conclusion'.  What great birthday news....

    Hi Tammy

Glad to hear that the planned trip went so well. Funnily enough we should have been in that area, Fort William, this week and OH fancied that train trip so who knows we may well have pinched some of your cream teas.smile

Had an easy drive along the North Wales coast to a smashing CL, new to us and only been going a couple of years. Pitched up in the warm dry weather and after setting up and having had a coffee we drove the short distance to one of the free car parks just outside Newborough on Angelsey and had a 2 hour walk amongst the dunes and forest. Birdlife was in full swing and the trees exploding with new growth. The mountains of Snowdonia looked brooding with heavy cloud but we were in shirt sleeves. What a backdrop.

Back to a full CL but with hedges between units it feels quite isolated in a nice way.

Millie, I am really pleased the sale went better than planned and good to see a dealer who was prepared to up his offer. Well done that dealer.

Having had root canal treatment in the last couple of years my sympathy goes to anyone with toothache.

Rain finally just arrived. Hope it's a sign of how the weather is going to behave for our stay.smile

A bit of a belated birthday greetings from me DSB, and what a love present from your daughter. Hope bbc you had a good day and all goes well for your daughter and baby.

Good news about the van, millie. Nice to hear that some sales person was on your side.

Sorry to hear of your OH's problems with her tooth, and glad that she was able to get the problem fixed so quickly. Are you with Denplan, as we get similar service from our dentist.

Hope your visit to the hospital is a success, M, as I'm sure it will be.

Sounds like a great day out TG, one we must consider for a future trip.

Glad to hear that you got to Anglesey safely and in the dry, and that the sites is a good one.

Our last day on The Gower has been another fine and less windy  one, with just a short shower this evening. We completed the other part of the Cefn Bryn Ridge before lunch, and, with clear views all round, could see that the English side of Bristol Channel were having prolonged and heavy rain showers moving through from the South. After lunch we found a small N/T car park at Penmaen from where we walked down to view Three Cliffs Bay.

Onward to Pembrokeshire tomorrow to stay at another new to us CL.

I think you will be fine just carrying on north up the coast.   We have twice done that route with previous caravans, somewhat smaller than we have now.  In the 70s in our Cavalier, and in the late 90s in our Sterling Emerald (4 berth).  We were coming the other way round having started from Aberdeen and  going via Inverness.

Great news from your daughter DSB, hope all goes well.

We have heard back from the 2 CLs we were looking to book instead of CAMC sites, one has space and one does not, so moderate success.  OH has one more possible alternative still to contact.  Each site swap will save £10-12 per night, so worthwhile as we would not use the facilities anyway.

DD has been waiting for ages for the builders to come and do her new roof (in zinc) and Velux  windows, and today has heard they will come in 4 weeks time......just when we are off on holiday.   So we will help them pack everything up and move the furniture, then leave them to it.

Just hope they have all the dust cleaned up before we get back!

DSB belated birthday greetings. What fantastic news from your daughter many many congratulations to you all.

Milliehull sad that your caravan has actually gone but a bonus to be given more than first offered originally. Your new adventures can begin before long.

Good to hear folks enjoying their trips away.

We seem to be having April weather but the showers are very welcome, however the breeze gets up and is very chilly. Today has started beautifully.

I have sorted the boxes from the loft, more to come down. Found good homes for several items via fb, some free some sold. Our daughter's dolls pram and cot, which our NZ granddaughters would love 😪, have gone to a lovely little girl down the road and will be well cherished. Been rather an emotional roller coaster but I'm glad with progress. The charity shop I chose was happy to take all the rest. Hopefully the rest of the stored stuff will come down at the weekend and be sorted and I can breathe a sigh of relief. At least until I start on the sheds 😱😱. There will be no more storing of bits no longer needed........

Well done bakers2! I am still trying to persuade OH to tackle the loft but he is a hoarder and likes to keep things 'just in case' 🤔. How nice that your daughter's doll's pram and cot have gone to such a good home. It is a breezy sunny morning here so the lawnmower is about to come out of the shed. I cant believe how much the grass has grown in the past week. OH is then talking about clearing our shed so hopefully some stuff can be put on our local fb group or freecycle.

Your day out sounds wonderful TG. I think Lochs and Glens include that in one of their tours so it is something for us to consider..What did you think of Oban? We  spent a day there on a L and G tour some years ago and after we had done a tour of the distilllery thought that there wasnt much else to do there

Woke up to rain this morning. Looks to be coming to an end so we'll get ourselves out for a walk.

Millie you could always take the trip across the water from Oban to Iona. Would have thought that would have some appeal to you. We were going there for the wildlife, Iona and cycling.

Well done Bakers. Fortunately neither of us are hoarders but we still accumulate stuff that needs to go. Hard to get rid of things that are family related though but at least you know the cot and pram will be used and appreciated.

WN We did that on the same L&G tour on a different day. It was absolutely wonderful and we were really lucky with the weather. We went to Mull first and then on to Iona. Such a beautiful place.
