What are you all up to

Another long and busy day.
We started on the dining room painting
got all the walls done by lunchtime. Decided then to do the kitchen as well
no big walls in the kitchen just lots of fiddly bits, they took longer than the big walls. Once the walls were done I started on the coving while OH had a break before starting the laborious job of cleaning and putting everything back. All now done and looking good. Two very tired people.Weather today same as yesterday, sun, wind snow showers.
Glad to hear you got away ok WN, have a good break. Can't wait until we can get away.

Good to hear that you are set up and already enjoying being away, WN.
TG, it's no wonder you're tired after all that painting, I feel exhausted just reading about your exploits.
Do you have a day yet for when the Wee One will let you all up there get away? After a snow free yesterday and morning today we've had a few flurries this afternoon, the latest lasting long enough to coat the roof of the caravan, and that could well remain there till tomorrow now as there's no warmth in the sun to melt it.
Not sure of how far I've walked in the last year, but since 1st Jan I've done over 950 mls.

Have you two got worms ????

You're taking all the enjoyment out of doing nothing away! Stop it.
We'll have to go for a long walk now tomorrow. (Ok it was planned anyway). Will take in the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and walk down to Llangollen I think.

Started off the day cleaning the trap of the bathroom washbasin. Being on a bit of a roll, I decided that a fettle of the kitchen sink might be a good idea. Turned into a bit of a Bazalgette special. Like the black hole of Calcutta. Because it's a double sink and the dishwasher outlet is also connected to it, it's a bit "convoluted". Just as I was on the final stretch, Southdown MH's rang and asked if I could drop the van in today instead of in the morning. At least it saves an early rise. Finally got back under the sink and tightened everything up to find one of the rubber grommets had distorted in reassembly. Mopped up and all now secure. Hopefully it earned me some brownie points.

Glad you got away safely WN. Hope you have a good few days. Relax and enjoy.

WN, enjoy your walk tomorrow
we are are only going shopping so nothing to energetic
NTH, if we all behave ourselves the wee one says we can come out to play on the 26th April but we are not allowed our English to join us just yet 😂😂
CY, what you did today OH did last week, bathroom no problem, kitchen like you had issues. All sorted but its a horrible job to do, at least the cupboard under the sink got a good clear out 😀😀
Only our bedroom left to paint now and that's the whole bungalow done since Christmas

Off to bed now, night night.😴😴😴

Glad to read that some (WN) are able to get away. It won't be long now, folks, before we can all get away. We have earned our van this last week. Just got to put some of the stuff back in and make the bed... It won't be too long now....

We seem to have escaped the bad weather that was forecast. It has been very cold, but hardly any rain or snow. Some wind, but not too bad, and it has been very sunny. Solar panels performing well.
Yesterday I finished installing the new towel radiator in Callum's bathroom, it is about twice the size of the old one so should keep him cosy. Then had to bleed all the rads and top up the system. i need to add inhibitor too, but DD thinks there may be a leak somewhere under the floor, so we will monitor the pressure for a couple of weeks first.
If there is a leak, I will have to go under the floor AGAIN to find it.......not one of my favourite jobs. Little Callum is desperate to go under the floor, Mummy has bought him a boiler suit so he reckons he is "good to go". So if I do have to go down there he will be wanting to come too.
Spent today sorting the floor between the new bedroom and the hall, and putting in the door thresholds there and between the bedroom and en suite bathroom.
Tomorrow I apparently have some shelves to secure and a couple of dents on the laminate floor to fix, then it will be on to the next item on DD's very long list!
Our dealer sent us a note of the first service date they now have available.......23rd June........we will be away then so have arranged for 21st July instead.
Very surprised to learn that our Ikea opened yesterday, before those in England, not that we are planning to go there, but DD does need some stuff from them, and has quite a few items to return.
New LED lights for the caravan came today, so something else to do.

Micheldever Wood yesterday and here they are, Blue Bells, not great but an aweful lot looked to be blind, also lots of Primroses, great afternoon in the sunshine, but had to drive home in a snow blizzard almost a white out and close to pulling over, but got home safe, but very cold night and very cold this morning

Looks like another week or two and the woods will look wonderful Rufs!
We sometimes venture into the woods at Montacute, where the "Ladies Walk" is the popular bluebell wood.
I love late April and May when all the hedgerows come out. We have new people in the village who think Cow Parsley on the verges should be mown down, to me it's a lovely sight. I am trying to cultivate it on our right of way, even then some walkers knock it down.

I love Cow Parsley, when it’s out with the hedgerows in blossom, we think of it as the “fluffy” time of year. I am currently cultivating the lovely purple variety, my plant in a pot last year had “babies” so I have carefully dug up the seedlings and transplanted them.

Bitterly cold here. Still frost on the cars at 0830. That cleared but was still some on the grass in the shade on our dog walk about 1000. Quite a stiff breeze but the sun was warm for the moments it was out. Washing has already dried and smells lovely, but wintry.
OH had his 2nd jab this morning - all good so far. Carpark almost at capacity but gate volunteers allocated you a vacant space which saved chaos as it's a small area and they're not always easy to spot. I sat in the car, interesting to watch some folks get their car into their spot! Thanked them as we left, both said they weren't sure if they had fingers and toes.........
If those bluebells and the other about to flower/blossom have any sense they'll hang back for a while. I love this time of the year all the lovely blossoms and flowers buusting out with the promise of brighter days. Not quite so keen on the winds from the northeast!
I wish Tammygirl would take a chill pill, I'm exhausted reading about how much she achieves in same hours as me. You do know we're human beings not human doings don't you? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Stay warm and enjoy your day
Ps I love cow parsley, my mum called it queen Ann's lace. Lovely memories of happy days dragging a stick along and watching it spring up again. Not to mention picking it for the rabbit and Guinea pig. I hope you succeed in establishing on your right of way brue.

Sadly though, the Eastern Bluebell fields wont look quite as pretty this year, due to some evil toads digging up eight thousand { 8000 } bulbs this week
. At least they did not get away with them, but I have little doubt that a number will not be successfully replanted, curse them .0 -
I hope they got backache doing it ABM, it's human ingenuity gone mad along with those who dug up a village pavement not long ago. They must be dim as well because they usually get caught! 🤷
PS I've read recently that emojjis tend to be used by those over a certain age...we're just not cool past sixty....😈

Spent a lovely day walking and admiring all of the first sightings of flowers. So many to enjoy, including Wood Sorrel and Cowslips.
The sun didn't put in an appearance during the walk but the wind relented enough to enjoy the walk. It's still a long way down from the Aqueduct.
Cold to start with and then you suddenly realise you've over-clothed. Back to the caravan for a shower and dinner. Sun now shining.
Sorry to say this folks, but it felt great sleeping in the caravan again last night. Not long to wait now for those in England.
How many will be venturing forth?

Much slower lazier day today for us
just did the food shopping this morning then the ironing this afternoon. Slept like a log last night and didn't get up once. That rarely happens
Bakers2, apologies for working so hard, chill pill taken today

WN, rub it in why don't you
some of us have to wait another 3 weeks yet, glad you had a good day
Off to hairdresser tomorrow

OH going to see his Mum at the care home, he gets a test before being allowed to see her. They then sit in a room all to themselves. The home seem to be coping well with all the changes they have had to make, it must be more work for them as they now have to set appointments every visitor as well as testing them.
Slightly less sun today and still freezing cold, solar panels have been doing well though so can't complain.

Good news Kj. Hope all goes well. Mine was only 9 weeks which was a nice surprise. They seem to be concentrating on the 2nd jabs rather than the 1st at the moment.

Hi Kj, good news for you.
Same for my sister, she got a letter last week inviting her for her second jab this Saturday, that will be her 8th week, she is going to the mass vaccination centre.
My BIL got his letter asking him to go to his Dr (again) for his second jab next Tuesday, that will be his 9th week.
Its funny because BIL was before my sister for his first.
We've not heard yet but we were 5 days after my sister for the first one, so expecting to hear something in the next few days as we all went to the same place for our first.

Good to hear that many are now getting their second jabs. It does mean that they don't have to postpone going away or change plans to fit it in.
You should sleep well tonight, WN, after the walking and fresh country air.
I had to queue for over 30 mins to get into our BS this morning as it's only a small branch and are operating a single person in at a time. Then went for a bracing walk by the shore. This afternoon blew up the tyres on both the caravan and the car in preparation for the off in a week's time.

We've walked our usual four and bit miles each day this week. Cloudless blue skies but the wind has been nithering. Out of the north or thereabouts and quite strong on the tops.
I was reminded of a line from Sea Fever by John Masefield " where the wind's like a whetted knife"
I had my second jab last Sunday but my OH who had the first jab a fortnight after me got her second three days before me!
