Very cold wind and grey today when out with Rosa ,really suprised as both parks we walk via ,no litter, not been blown into edges either
last weeks really warm day, they were as seen in other places on news reports 7 full bags of litter from one park with chidrens play areas
Went to OHs son and partners new ,1868 old house yesterday ,row of 3 cottages now converted in 1995 into two houses with extentions very up and down inside
,lovely day, sat in the garden with tea and buns
They had been to a timed visits birthday party on Saturday

Good walk this morning with both dogs, the forecast is better than expected, dry all day and sunshine but cold northern winds. We watched the one daily plane heading for the Atlantic, the only vapour trail in the sky.
Bluebell wood Rufs?! Ours our only just coming out and will need a week or so to look really good.
Too cold to sit outside today but OH is doing some building repairs.

The bluebells were only just coming out when we went for our walk yesterday. It will be a week or two before they are at their best. Snow all gone and we have clear blue sky here but it is bitterly cold.

We woke up very surprised to no snow, and glorious sunshine. Wind is very cold, but out if it is quite nice. Odd bluebell out in our woods, but I always think of them as a late April, early May thing anyway, so ours are ahead here. OH hoping to do his delayed bike ride, no more unexpected water in the stairs area, and I might just tackle the inside of the MH today. That’s if the lure of the garden doesn’t kick in again😱

Gorgeous brilliant blue sky with full unclouded sunshine but it's oh so very c c cold in that wind
-- even the birds are huddled together in the shrubbery and, amazingly, ignoring all that fresh food
.I do hope that all the 'van cleaning etc does not cause any silting up of the rivers, drains etc I would not wish to hear of flooding as the snow melts

I thought it was rather early for bluebells. Not been anywhere to see any here but cowslips/peggles really beginning to show on yesterday's walk, not out but colour showing, lovely clumps along the ditches and field margins.
Walked along the navigation canal/river this morning made a nice change, Dora had good off lead time and a couple of doggy chases so she's nicely tried. It snowed on us 3 times 🌬 and the wind is jolly chilly, but the sun came out shortly after the last flurries. Cow parsley knee high in some places.
Back home now and in the sunny conservatory it's beautiful, dog panting as laying in the full sun........ I've had to ask to move! Just dropped my tablet and cracked the screen really cross with myself. Luckily it has a protective covering on the glass and doesn't effect its use. Another job for when the shops open.
OH preparing rolls for lunch then it's off to get different dining chairs from the loft. The ones were using seem to be wobbly, possibly the joints?? I need to check out loft ones, from late in laws and work hard on not just a straight swop........

Like most others we have had a few snow flurries but nothing untoward. Sun out now.
Finishing off packing the caravan and a few small jobs that needed doing around the house and garden as the brown bins collected this week and I like to get my moneys worth.

Sunny day here but bitterly cold and very windy. Our local car dealer opened this morning (we have bought most of our cars here over the past 20 years) so we took a walk around there they were quite busy and according the the salesman we normally deal with he has had a few sales already. We aren’t really looking to change the car at the moment but like to keep an eye on the market so that when the time comes we have an idea of what we can get.

You could be right, but we may be just a tad ahead of you, a lot of our blosom is now on its last legs, the magnolias are in splendid bloom so hopefully the wind and rain will stay away for a while.
Blue Bell wood only 20 mins drive and is a good walk for pooch, if not in full bloom we can always pay another visit.
Just done a quick cycle along the front into Lee, beautiful in the sunshine and great going as wind at my back but a bu**** coming back, no snow thankfully, but Daughter in East G. said they had a slight covering this morning.
Wonder what exciting news BJ will have for us, after all that has been leaked in the press, nothing we dont already know would be my guess

Sunny day here too but windy and bitterly cold, a few snow flurries.
Bought paint yesterday at B&Qs, today we painted the living room, dining room tomorrow😀 everything back in place and polished, all looking good. May as well get on with indoors just now as its to cold outside for anything.
WN have a good wee trip, it will be good to get away even if its just a short one.
Bluebells all still hiding up here😂😂😂

I was looking at an advert for a small handbag, following an ad on fb, which I thought might do as a present. I was reading the description and was somewhat puzzled by
Premium quality: Made of soft vegan PU leather, and available in a variety of colors. Finished with a strong polyester fabric, it will keep its shape under all conditions.
Is it me or is it a ridiculous claim??

Looks as if we've been fortunate as we've had no snow, at least so far, and mostly clear blue skies. Although there was a bitterly cold wind this morning it was nowhere near as strong as forecast and it had warmed up a little this afternoon, sufficiently enough for me to take my coat off for the second half of our post noon walk.

Polyurethane leather will stretch when it gets hot😁. Tis plastic.

You should see the price of some of Stella McCartney’s designer vegan leather stuff😵 £600 for a handbag. And it’s neither a silk purse, or a sow’s ear😂 Still plastic. Not harming animals, but ain’t doing the planet too much good......
Just mulling over a year on. This time last year, we were making homemade ice cream, experimenting with gloopy sweet popcorn toppings, wondering where to get bread flour and yeast from🤷♀️ This week has been about stir fries, veg crudités, and wondering how far I can go before falling off bike in attic. Gardening has featured heavily all year though, as has teasing the dog (who loves it🥰)
OH did a bike ride today. He climbed the equivalent of Ben Nevis by the end of the ride. It sure isn’t flat around us........

Just mulling over a year on. . . . . We were making . . . . ice cream, . . . .gloopy sweet popcorn toppings. . . . .
Oh TtDA There's cruel ~~ just reading your post and I've put a couple or three pounds on

please ask your OH to cycle a lap or six of Anglesey for me to remove it

Very cruel ABM, my favourite was a sort of soft toffee coating made with Golden Syrup, butter and brown sugar....😋
OH has just totted up his cycle mileage for the last year. Includes some virtual stuff up in attic, as he was shielding from 24th March to 12th July, and then didn’t go out again on road from New Years Day to mid February. He has done total of 2996 miles one way or another. I think that is more than the Jeep did last year🤣🤣🤣

My son in law does about 4K per year. Did a ride from Putney to Brighton and back at the weekend. Probably not as hilly a route as TDA. I walked just over 1K miles last year, about the same as OH's car.

I'm afraid my exercise has been doing all our village walks, the main benefits being getting out on a daily basis and chatting with those doing the same. We've noticed a lot more walkers on the right of way by our garden, we have regulars and some we don't recognise who are doing much longer walks. We're lucky as we have a lot of off road paths used by farm workers and quarry men in the past to get to work.

Gosh you make me feel guilty TG, we just brought in a decorator and he did the whole lot in 6 days. He told me that the paint the professionals buy "trade paint" is far superior re coverage than what you can buy at B&Q he gave me a card to use at a place called decorators warehouse where he says you can buy the trade stuff, not sure if true and i certainly wont be trying to confirm this

Brilliant day again, although very cold overnight, even the raditor in the bedroom flashed up at 0630 hrs when heating came on and it is on number 1 on the thermostat so doesnt often cut in.
Hopefully will see some Blue Bells p.m. today,

got some white bells in the garden0 -
All the blue skies have gone here this morning, grey and very cold, not that we have seen the warmer temperatures others seem to have experienced here over Easter, just the blue skies. Gardening yesterday in the cold wind took me straight back to childhood memories of cold Easters spent in the Cotswolds. I used to visit my cousins and help with the lambing on the farm. We would come home freezing to steaming mugs of hot chocolate. Strange how little things bring back such long ago memories these days.

Lovely bright day so far, frost when out with Rosa but no cold wind as we had yesterday
Bumped into local man of the cloth with his dog (not friends with Rosa) he was saying they have had much larger attendances since reopened and were very busy Sunday
When he came 3yrs ago the church was expected to be closed but now on a sure footing for now
The Virus seems to have given some momentum to attendances
One thing he did say that as funerals are restricted to so few able to attend ,they now have the coffin in the church (family permission) early, to enable those unable to attend to pay their respects

I've got similar memories of seeing my grandparents in N Wales at Easter, walks to the farm for duck eggs, walks to the dairy for cream...the lane where they first lived is now a mass of housing with a big caravan site in place of the farm.
The weather has been surprisingly good here, cold but sunny.
Our daughter and pals did their 10 mile coastal walk in Dorset yesterday and said Weymouth was quiet, that must be a first for this time of the year.

CY, Have now got this image in my head of you walking whilst waving a red flag!!!

It's a bit sad Brue, as similar. The lambing sheds are now turned into holiday lets, the old barn is now a million + pound house. Most of the houses that were farming labourer cottages are around three quarters of a million. In fact most of the people living in the hamlet are millionaires. No new buildings in 40 years though.

A nice easy drive to our site for 4 nights.
Sunny afternoon spent talking to the owners and sorting out our caravan, mostly me asking Mrs WN "where's so and so?"
Just had a hail storm so the ground a bit white. There's just the 3 of us at the moment on site all very, very well spaced. The owner did say she had to turn down over 20 enquiries from naughty people living in England. Site full next week.
Sitting here with a lovely glass of red listening to some Bach with the odd interruption from bleating lambs and a couple of Curlew that have just flown over.
Bliss!
