Lucky you Millie, all jabbed first time. 👏👏👏 As you say, some generations will get on with it, while others will feel the need to discuss it with all and sundry via Twitface.

I havent had mine yet TDA. Hopefully in the next group. As OH said to son, 'Mum cant have hers yet because of her extreme youth' 🤣🤣 As an added bonus one of the lovely volunteers went down the queue handing out parking permits so we didnt have to pay for parking. Everyone was looked after very well.

Well the PM here has said we can travel a lot further from the 15th so Villefrance next week and diy shopping, but the curfew will not go down with the locals 8pm to 6am and only evening it will not apply will be 24th as that is when they give resent and celebrate here, so the only folk out after 8pm are folks who work, medical reasons and to walk the dog but not to far in the dark haha.

No bars or restaurants until 20th January and no cinemas or theatres  either also no football/rugby fans at matches.

Have not seen any xmas decorations around here yet although we are 600 metres from the village centre but have seen 2 santa claus hanging from a front porch and they usually are still there at end of January.

Did pop out today to another small town and got some more bird food and a bit of grocery shopping.

    Stay safe folks.

I can’t wait to take Mum for hers Millie, it’s been such a long year for her, but she’s done well, adapted to not seeing as many people, not being able to do her favourite browsing of shops, we haven’t been able to do as much, and for three months we were reduced to sitting on her lawn yelling at her😂

I really do feel for you TDA..It must have been so very difficult for you all. As much as I miss them all so much I am quite glad none of our parents have had to cope with all of this. I hope your mum gets her vaccine soon. We are so lucky as Peterborough is one of the hospital hubs. Best wishes.

Confirmed our bookings for Xmas, which we have extended by 2 nights, and for the New,Year. Also booked a,couple more sites enough route, so were away on Monday. All sites that we are familiar with, but might try a new one on the way back home in January.

My visit to the hospital went ok this afternoon, so now waiting for a Covid test before a minor operation in early to mid Jan.

😬Difficult AD, there are all sorts of issues for some folks and their loved ones. I hope everything goes well, and it’s safe for you all to see one another again.

Thank you Millie. We realised very early on just what this virus might be like, in terms of the need to keep Mum safe, and my OH, so we got very well organised back in March. Two separate households to start with, with me doing the “risky” bits like popping into the odd shop, and making sure everything was sanitised. A couple of weeks into early lockdown, and we had a good routine going, made sure we got plenty of exercise one way and another, learned some new techy skills to keep in touch, pay for things differently. It was hard not physically seeing Mum, and being able to help out though. We’ve kept our bubble right through to the two households, other than our recent boiler fitting. But I kept away again for two weeks to be safe. We won’t socialise with others this late now, getting close to that vaccine. We haven’t beaten ourselves up mentally about what we haven’t been able to do, just got on with enjoying whatever has come our way. Promised ourselves a really nice holiday together, actually doing the things we enjoy when it’s safe to do so. As for me and OH, Cornwall is top of our list next year, back to some of our favourite haunts. We hope to do some meet ups as well, missed seeing some of you out there👍😁

Nellie, glad things have worked out for you, and the hospital visit. Have a good break, safe getaway on Monday. Coming up for a year since Fox House and a muddy walk round Longshaw.😁

Pleased to hear that your husband had his first Covid jab Millie.  A friend has asked our Doctors surgery who apparently ‘know nothing about it’ so we could be waiting quite a while!!  Getting our decorations out today, not very much as we aren’t seeing anyone at home.  Hopefully will get to see our son and family at some point for a socially distanced meet up somewhere, if the Tier system allows, and he can make it up here from Hertfordshire.  Can’t help thinking of last Christmas when these decorations went away, what a different world we are now.  Having to shake myself out of getting maudlin!  Anyway, thankful that we are still here and hope that 2021 will be better for us all.

Haven't been on CT for a few days now so will catch up on everyone's news later.

It's been a very difficult few days and sadly, we lost my brother this week. He'd been in and out of hospital over the last couple of years since his spinal operation. He went in to RUH about a month ago with breathing difficulties, diagnosed as fluid on the lungs, developed pneumonia and then tested positive for coronavirus. He fought the infection bravely but his system had deteriorated so much that they could not risk giving him any more oxygen and certainly he wouldn't have coped with being put on a ventilator. In the end all they could do was keep him as comfortable as possible and, sadly,  he succumbed early yesterday morning. Only 66, no age at all,  really.

It must be difficult at this time Moulesy for you and the rest of the family. How is your father coping? Best wishes.

This really is a year to forget but sadly will be remembered for all of the pain it has caused.

Cheers, millie. Hope are soon able to get to meet up with your family over the water. Glad to hear that your OH has had his jab and fingers crossed that we all will be having ours soon, and without any side effects.
