Now that is one piece of good news today, thanks, JVB. It goes along with us being tier 2 and the sites we've booked for the holiday period are both in tier 2 too, so we should get away, fingers crossed.
Just waiting to hear when I've to go to the Max-Fac clinic, B2, and then what will be their plan for me. Hope you get your vision sorted to your satisfaction.
Strange sort of a day here, as we had lots of sunshine early on so decided to head out of town for a walk. Drove a couple of mile straight into fog which persisted until nearly lunch time. Managed a couple of miles or so along and back by the straightest canal in England, then head off to the shore and another walk on the foreshore in sunshine for an hour or so.

I remember it well, and I am sure it was thee that took pity on Mrs Nellie and her sore knees, turning back when we did. Will have to try and sort out another such walk in better times.

We are in tier 2 but son who lives 12 miles away in South Holland is in tier 3 despite the fact that their infection rate per 100,000 of the population is less than ours
. I understood that the rules governing travelling between the tiers are relaxed over the 5 days of Christmas. Am I wrong?0 -
Glorious day here, got up to a wonderful sunny day, so just come in from four hours in garden, tidying and cutting back. OH has disappeared out on his mud velocipede for a few hours, so the pooch and me are having a break now. Garden is full of birds and squirrels again. Heard our Woodpecker yesterday, but not spotted yet.
No sign of scaffolders yet though😡 Supposed to be collecting it today.

A cold morning where we saw a little bit of sunshine but not a lot. Just clouded over this afternoon. Morning centred around getting to the church for a funeral. Seemed weird not having to sing.
Had to pay a visit to the opticians as I managed to break one of the arms off my specs late last night. Fortunately they had a spare to match. £35 down the drain though.
Forgot to mention yesterday that I was in trouble with Mrs WN. I had on a clean pair of walking trousers. Always likely to get a bit of mud on the leg but hadn't counted on sitting down on a bench and missing my seating mat but not missing the bird poop! Very ignominious for ones pride having your bottom wiped half way up a mountain by your wife.
Fortunately not too many walkers around to notice. So clean trousers were in the wash upon returning home and I was in the doghouse.Looks like a cold night.

Thanks brue. We are in a very difficult position in this area as we border 3 counties - cambs, lincs and leics. Cambs are tier 2 and latter two are tier 3. Sometimea the border runs through a village and sometimes a village or small town has a river that runs through it and are divided by the river boundary - essential shops, doctors etc on one side and houses the other. People are going to find it extremely difficult.

We're now separated from both sides of our family and two of our children! All in tier 3. Usually I see my sister quite often and we swap around at Christmas, but not this year.

Yes, it certainly will be difficult, even our area is split, N Somerset is tier 3, S Somerset 2.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that your family is split into different tiers brue. Our son is in tier 3 and we are in tier 2 so he and I are planning a walk with a takeaway coffee this weekend to have a catch up before the restrictions come into force. (we are allowed a 1 to 1 walk with a member of a different household at the moment). Here's hoping for some happier times by the spring.

On a happier note we have had a couple of lovely walks in the past 2 days in glorious sunshine. No.fog here luckily. We bumped into a couple of friends we hadnt seen for months this morning and managed a very quick catch up in passing
Beautiful photos WN. Such a glorious area. Thanks for posting.
Bakers2 I had a conversation about which lense I want when I get my cataract op when I had my appt in feb. I opted for long distance so I then only need glasses for reading. I am quite happy to wait a few months for my op until this virus has settled down and I might even have had the vaccine (hopefully) I am so pleased your appt well.

I hope your daughter's appt went well today brue. Not a pleasant experience from what I hear but I gather the staff are usually very kind and supportive so I hope your daughter got through it OK. I also hope that the result is good

Heads up for all ,just had an Email via our local police community team ,from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue, they had 385 fires last year caused by domestic/ and white goods ,,of which 34% had not been registered with the appliance maufacturer ,which in turn could have prevented some fires ,by getting recall and/ or updated safety information (ie possible dust build ups) and most if not all can be registered even if quite old

Milliehull lovely photos. Nice to catch up with friends. I trust you met one each 😉
Wherenext lovely photos, glad you did the climbing 😉
Very frosty foggy start to the day here. Heard some serious windscreen scraping around 7am. Surprised it was still very firm and required elbow grease on non heated windows when I went out at 9am! But the fog had cleared. I put my sun glasses on for the walk 😱. Lovely walk but over the hour and a half the frost hung around and the fog came down and the temperature plummeted payback for wearing sunglasses. It was 1c as I left but the fog lifted as I got nearer home, left the small river valley, very localised and the temperature reached 3c just 3 miles distance. Been grey and cold all day. Did the afternoon walk with with OH, just street walk, to see the street lights, the high street gets switched on Sunday apparently in a virtual view - I hope this means that the window rattling fireworks that usually follow it will be virtual too.
It seemed slightly warmer for our walk. Nice clear sky, but too early to see ISS, well look out in half an hour - did we remember? Nah.
Hedgehog still visiting but not having around in their house so they must have somewhere cosier!

Have just been catching up with the latest C&MC magazine while OH watched the football and spotted my 'bored husbands' photo in the Tail Lights section at the back!!

Just had a quick look Millie, nice to see the photo on there!

Also thanks for mentioning our daughter, it has been a worry, she has had some unexpected but successful treatment today and will now have to wait for further results. She was seen very quickly which was a bit of a shock but now we're relieved.

Glad today went well for your daughter brue. Our best wishes to her and to you also.

Oh as were no longer members I'm denied the opportunity to see a bored husband - don't know what one of those are or looks like 😉. Mine has always shown much interest in the shops, gossip and my conversations to know boredom 🤣🤣🤣.

Morning everyone, just had a catch up, lovely photos and lots of news,🙂
My week has been rather uninteresting, weather has been a bit grey and dismal. Did have a trip to the farm shop and came home with a Christmas Tree! Have been sorting the lights and decorations this morning, will put it up tomorrow for a bit of festive cheer. 🙂
Eldest son and his girlfriend exchanged contracts on their new build house this week, completion hopefully in January. Neighbours opposite completed the purchase of another house in our road, they now own 3! 😯 Some nice news this week our next door Neighbours are expecting a baby in March, their first, and very excited.
Haven't decided what we are doing at Christmas, may well just meet up with family for walks if the weather ok, not sure I want the extra stress of keeping everyone safe. 🤔 Many people on our estate haven't taken any notice of rules re mixing households. One neighbour who was sheilding in the last lockdown,( high risk) has had lots of visitors and has been visiting family during this lockdown.
Not had the club magazine yet, so not seen photo of your OH Millie, we have only been getting post a couple of days a week apparently lots of post people are off isolating and so some post not being delivered, will have to do some cards, they might arrive before Christmas! 😉
Enjoy the weekend, stay safe.

Having a tidy up before putting up decorations (yes I know...) and found a box full of old phones, not all mine but that big Motorola was!
Also a strange computer cable which had me very puzzled, I finally remembered it was a firewire cable.

Cornersteady I'm impressed the phones are in a box, ours, we can match at least 3 of yours, sit on a shelf and can quite often leap out and thwack you one as you innocently look for something completely unrelated. We have charges to match as well. Maybe if we knew where to hand them into for proper recycling we'd save a few planet resources??
No idea on the other item - passed me by or I wasnt important enough to need one?
On the charger part I thought there was an agreement to have a one size fits all charger, to help with resources, but my latest Samsung needs a different size, certainly larger, connector 🤔.
If I knew how too, and I certainly don't with this forum 😉 I'd share a seemingly funny fb post where all countries are clambering to be first to find a vaccine but not so keen to lead climate change!
