Don't they say that success breeds success? In my case it might just breed more misery as he is threatening to take a picture of them sitting in the middle of his artificial turf to create a second jigsaw, so they will be in a sea of green which could be even worseyell

No, nothing in local news. It’s a good few miles from where we live, but it should be in local news if anything bad has happened, so I am hoping no news means she has been found ok. I get so upset about such folks living their lives alone, they are just so vulnerable, not just health wise but to fraudsters and other nasty folks. But some won’t have it any other way, so difficult.

I would be all guns blazing about the cat as well TG. Too many humans think cats, dogs, other pets are disposable items, makes my blood fair boil. Same sort who are usually bad at parenting as well😡

Meanwhile, today is going well so far.....all expected parcels are here, our gardener team are dropping off two loads of applewood for us to dry and then store for stove, staircase is going well, and the Jeep has just sailed through its MOT. Just the ruddy scaffolders now, again, and again. Good mind to put a sale on EBay and offer it free if someone collects😂

That is one thing that we get via our neighborhood watch local police team they will always ask for sitings of missing persons and advise of results of any searches

They are always sending out emails to advise of any national and local news that is thought to be of "interest"

Security for surprise parcel deliveries and scam calls also advise on keeping vehicles with catalitic converters safer are recent advise emails

During the first lockdown Mrs WN had words with the neighbour who had brought a stray back from his static caravan site. He intended to revisit said site and leave his stray to be fed by his neighbours so she had strong words about his attitude. He ran into the house😪 We did ask whether he had the cat checked for ID chip but he hadn't. We did notice he took the cat with him. Mrs WN doesn't speak out very often but worth taking notice of when she does.🤔

We had a local who had Dementia and disappeared a few times. Both times Police in Liverpool were altered as that is where she tended to go and both times she was found there in the city centre. Hope your lady turns up well Ttda.

Miserable day weather wise here. Waiting on call from caravan servicers.

I see Wales will accept cross border travel from 6 pm Friday into Tier 1&2 areas in England and their equivalent in Scotland.

Very cold overnight, had to scrape the car windows this morning and that was at 09.15. Drove into Perth they had snowsurprised no sign of it 7 miles north where we live, that's a turn up for the books its usually the other way round.

Food shopping this morning, shops not that busy was surprised. Did the elderly neighbours shopping as usual, she says she is saving money with us doing it, normally she gets her groceries in the village shop oops!  I know we are supposed to support the local shops but they just don't have everything, so what can one do. .

The return of our travelling TV today, OH has had it connected to the satellite dish to check it out. All seems to be working properly now. He has made a Madeira cake this afternoon using my sisters recipe. Turned out not to bad, not as good as the Banana loaf he made the other day, next cake bake is a cherry cakesmile. He has no interest in cooking meals but he likes making cakes, only problem is he likes eating them as well laughing

TDA, glad no adverse media reports on the missing lady, my Mum used to go walk about at all hours, before she went into care, scared the life out of us. She even managed it once from the first care home she was in, they can be so clever at escaping.

Neighbours must be in hiding, as no sign of them, they must know I'm going to have words laughing

More cards made this afternoon, that's all the Christmas ones done. Working my way through all the birthdays for next year now. I've got 3 birthdays this month, big sis, niece and eldest son, all made smile

Had promised myself that I would tidy up the big freezer today but its so cold out in the utility room, its going to have to wait for another day.

WN, good for Mrs WN, we don't have pets at the moment but it really does get my goat when folk buy animals then don't bother to look after them. Why it had to be another kitten and not one of the many abandoned cats I don't know. I hope this one is a cuddly cat, if it is it might get to stay. That was the reason she ditched the other one she says it wouldn't let her cuddle it yell

If she ditches it TG, get Cats Protection onto her😡 If it’s a Tom explain neutering, it helps stop them being so aggressive and of course neutering prevents endless rounds of kittens.

Staircase is finished, looks good. Scaffolding? Still here.🙄😡

Well TDA, if the scaffolding stays up much longer you can do a Christmas lights display on it!

I crawled around our front garden this morning, festooning lights here, there and everywhere, ready for the big street switch on at the weekend, we just can't compete with some of the wiring experts round here but I've tried my best. I got OH to put the icicles up round the guttering, a job too far for me! laughing

Sorry about the kitten TammyG, every cat, bar one of ours has been a rescue cat, someone's reject. frown 🐈 Our present one was left to fend for himself in Weymouth and a previous one came from a scrapyard.

Been a quiet few days for us here. Very cold today and Ice in places but we went out and put up the outside decorations not too much just a few lights and a couple of light up snow men also were kept busy as we were looking after the grand dog today so she keeps us on our toes.

We aren’t really doggy people Brue and have never owned our own but one of our sons and our daughter have dogs. We look after youngest sons dog 2-3 times a week she is very low maintenance and we take her walks along the beach near our house. It is nice to give her back at the end of the day though hehe

We are like that with children Francis😂 Happy to entertain them for a couple of hours (once did a whole day,😱) but more than delighted to hand them back, usually grubby and exhausted to where they really belong😁 They have to between a certain age as well, 7-12 is ideal🤣 And interested in Castles, football, horse riding and animals. No idea what they like beyond this🤣🤣

Heavy rain early on which continued for the rest of the morning, and included large flakes of wet snow when we were out on our second walk, but they soon changed back into rain fortunately. OH had her hair cut this afternoon while I called to the chemist for her prescription which we order on line on Monday. Having waited for over a week for an appointment at the hospital coming in the post I phoned up this afternoon and the kind lady receptionist fixed me up with one next Thursday afternoon. Hopefully after that we'll know where we stand with getting away in the van.

Hope you get the scaffolding down soon, Tda. I don't know why  but it seems a trend these days for builders to do part of a job then disappear for ages before coming back to complete the work and even later to tidy away their equipment.

Good to hear you have that appointment Nellie. You have reminded me to try for a haircut before Christmas, luckily mine is holding up well at the moment, but another few weeks will see me rocking a proper lockdown look😁

Four times scaffolders have had us waiting around now. It’s blocking in MH, we can’t shut our big gates, and it’s like an obstacle course getting into garage for things, which we do a lot. Grrrrrr🤨 Dog thinks it’s a special peeing station😬

Another cold wet day looming. Definitely a soup day. Must get on chopping.

I feel sorry sorry for the CCTV installers who are returning today. It's a comprehensive system covering everything and everywhere and they have to spend a lot of time in the Man Basket lifted up by the loader, running wires between ancient buildings. When it's done I'll be able to see what the cats get up to at night!

    Big Sister is watching you!

Had one of those scam telephone calls yesterday from, supposedly, BT regarding the security of my internet. Nothing unusual in that as we get them all the time. Slight difference this time was when I said I didn't have BT internet the caller pointed out to me that BT service all the internet in the UK. When I said to him that I had a non BT fibre connection he rang off!!! They are obviously getting wise to the fact that people are telling them they have Virgin or Sky broadband? I wonder how many fall for this?

Unless it is a completely contained internet ,all internet in the uk at some time will have to use  BT switching  via one of their exchangeswink according to BT and Virgin engineers ,we are on Sky and it still needs BT to be country wide

    Snowing here🤩But not settling.......yet!

I am fending off McAfee and Norton emails at the moment, apparently my PC has around 50 viruses now, my subscription for both is about to expire, and the end of the World is nigh! Don’t use the PC, (which is a Mac Book), never had a McAfee or Norton subscription, and so far the end of the World is a good six weeks coming, so I sniff a scam.......🤨

I am Mum wrangling today. A ride in the snow should entertain her.......heated seats, cosy blanket around legs, hot water bottle and a flask. 92 and game for anything😂

We might put Xmas lights on the scaffolding later.......🙄

Sunny here, road still dug up, can't walk out our usual way on foot so a diversion to the post box, got all the Christmas cards done, hooray. Mud everywhere.

Our frail elderly neighbours have announced they will be staying with the family in S Wales at Christmas (teenage grandchildren etc etc.) Consternation all round....!!

Our near neighbour has Sky for broadband and telephone. Their landline telephone system was out of order the other day and they were unable to get through to Sky on their mobile so they decided to ring BT as the landline is still operated by BT. BT refused to discuss the matter with her saying that they had to be contacted by the telephone supplier, ie Sky, to raise a query sheet. So if anyone gets another of these calls you'll know it is a scam.

We had an automated call from someone purporting to be from our Credit Card supplier stating that our card had been used on Amazon to buy an item worth £1499. Press 1 if you believe this, 2 if you wish to have a rant or 3 if you wish to have some fun and keep the people talking until they hang up.

Grey miserable day here but no Thunder Snow like they had in Scotland.

The family in Wales don't seem to have managed the "looking after" scenario very well for the whole of the pandemic Brue so not really surprised that they seem intent on finishing the poor old folks off. Must be quite distressing for you to see it all unfold.

Had a phone call from the caravan people. Just one more job to do so we'll be heading that way in about an hour after they've confirmed it. Snowflakes starting to appear very now and then. Not enough to concern us though.

Trust me.....she’d have a go😱 Has to be watched every single minute of the day. Bit of a “diva” as well. Apparently today’s fashion statement wasn’t Wintery enough, so a full outfit change required. She’s a fully serviced model today, hair done, pedicured, manicured, just awaiting her carriage now, before we have an hour out looking at the views.😁

No snow here just lots of rain, woke me this morning battering on the bedroom windows around 5am.

Hairdressers this morning for a quick crop, thankfully the rain went off for awhile so didn't get wet, although I did remember to take a brolly.

Very grey skies, no wind and though its not as cold as yesterday it feels colder due to the dampness.

More making of cards this afternoon, once I can persuade the cat to get off the table laughing not mind as you know but she does come and make herself at home, I haven't got the heart to turf her out.

OH went and checked the MH and caravan after the very heavy rain in the early hours, just want to make sure nothing untoward, everything finesmile garage checked as well, not ours we rent it. The bikes are in the garage along with the trailer and a few other bits and pieces. All ok but the garage is showing signs of damp frown might have to get onto owners to see what they can do about it.

Had a phone call this morning to say that the care home OH's mum is in has Covid. They have gone all the way through this pandemic without a single case. They now have 20, 13 staff and 7 residents. OH's mum is in a separate unit ( dementia)  where so far they are still free from the virus. It is upsetting that now we are so close to them getting the vaccine they have started to get cases.

There has been a lot of changes to staff in the last month or so, a new manager and more care workers, I guess you can't help but wonder if something has changed or is it that we have more cases circulating in the community now, more than we have ever had all year. A few weeks ago we went up to tier 3 but cases seem to still be persistently stubborn, I don't think folk are as careful now as earlier on. Nothing we can do for his Mum just keep our fingers crossed that she remains safe.

Sorry to hear about the care home TG, I think it shows how rapidly the virus grows and spreads. We've had a lot more cases locally than the first time round when we thought we were doing quite well. Just starting to go down a bit but from a higher base line.

WN, yes to the comments about our neighbours. I assumed someone from the family might visit with some treats etc not whisk them away to an area with a lot more Covid cases than here!

Hope your Mum enjoys her trip out TDA.

Looks like some parts of the North have seen some snow. 🐧

Just keep a weather eye out for Prince Charming then,  I'm told that since the panto's are more or less scrapped, that the characters are out looking for the main chance again  surprised
