Brue - I'll have to remember that one! Sadly, there have been no quizzes lately - all 3 Arthritis UK branches that I used to run them for have folded. I was due to do one for Chew Valley RNLI branch back in March but that went the way of so many other charity fundraisers this year. frown

Edit - if anyone out there is looking to organise a fundraiser after this is all over you know where to come - if there's one thing Mrs M can't stand it's Mr M having too much time on his hands! laughing

The cartoonists will have a field day if he doesn't make a dignified exit. Oh well it's free entertainment in the meantime.

Moulesy I hope your famous quizzes will return in the not too distant future! smile Better than our local ones where suspiciously the vicar and pals always won....they got banned in one pub..I think they had a smart phone when they were a rarity!! laughing

We used to go to a local pub quiz which was almost always won by the same two young men - had to admire their cheek when someone discovered that the same quiz was being run by another pub of the same chain 2 days earlier on the other side of town! They were banned too! wink

Just watching The Festival of Rememberance. I was upset to see an empty Royal Albert Hall at first, but have been moved by the choir in the seats and now listening to Prince Charles. Why did I doubt our services might not be able to do the festival justice?

Bakers.......they love comfort. This is our Airedale dog caught red handed up in four poster. And then two weeks after delivery, our new chairs proved too tempting for the chocolate one!🤣

Just catching up with all the latest news, so sorry if I miss out anyone.

Glad to hear that Mrs WN is feeling better and able to get out for a wander.

Love the photo of Dora, B2. Those members of the household certainly know when one's back is turned.

I too miss your quizzes, M, although I never got anywhere near completing them.

TG good to hear that you got home ok. It's must have been sudden that Malcolm at Dovochfin passed away, as we had read on FB only a week or so ago that he was intending putting up his site fees next year. They'd been £10 for quite a while so were not surprised that he was going to raise them. I wonder if the site will close or if his cousin will run it in future. Just had a look on the recent reviews and there's a new phone number and name, James, so hopefully it will continue....There are not very many CLs in that region and to loose such a good one would be such a shame.

Two good days in a row here, oh that could have still been away in the van. However I've been industrious and been able to get the outside of the caravan cleaned so some way to getting ready for our next trip, whenever that may be.

Raining all day today. Not too bad early on so we got some very fresh air but looks to have settled into a foggy mizzle now.

Not doing a great deal but have started to investigate possible areas that we might end up in come Summer next year. it will keep me quiet for quite a while and also out of trouble.

What a horrible day, had the lights and heating on all day.

Went out to do a bit of food shopping this morning (after remembrance parade) went to our usual Aldi it was very busy, no signs of social distancing going on at all.

Don't think it will be long before we are either in tier 3 or lockdown. Folk are just not taking any notice anymore.

Looking at the numbers for our area its going up every day, we had one of the lowest rates in Scotland but not anymore yell it was the same last night loads of drinkers stood around the village hotel car park, in freezing fog, so desperate are they for a drink and chat, total madness. I wonder how many of them were from neighbouring tier 3 areas yell

Not a lot happening today just catching up on admin, doing washing, oh and making soup.

Hope you all had a more entertaining day.

Very well controlled sentiments there, TG !!  I could say the conditions today were purely due to the news coming out of that country across the Atlantic , or from the occasional golf course up Scotland way surprised. But that would be unfair on the non-golf course owners, wouldn't it, so I'll just settle for the autumnal season we are in now wink. Well we have to moan about something other than those numpties out there unmasked and unseparated -- they just don't seem able to work out the safer things to do, either yell

Still I've thoroughly enjoyed flicking from channel to channel following the footie -- F.A. Cup first round with no replays but extra time , penalties and oodles of goals and a decent M&S curry to follow I think  or perhaps a salad from the same source laughing

Watched the Remembrance Service, I don't think I've ever heard birds singing in the background, London was so quiet.

It's been very mild here so I planted up the last bags of bulbs, mostly tulips in pots. Visiting dog is here for a night so we took both dogs out for a walk this afternoon, met quite a few people we know all doing the same. There's been an influx of new people and dogs and it doesn't look good if you have to keep asking their names... (the dogs) never mind the people's names they expect you to remmeber the pooch! laughing

There is a leafy corner where somone is keeping some very nice pigs...one has gone  cry but two more have joined the others. Due to the ban on Danish travel I wonder what will happen to the huge pork supplies we get from over there. Not that I eat pork but it seems they supply a lot of the uk.

And now I'm snookered once more, OH will be glued to the green table! wink

What has happened to Mr T, has he gone yet or is he going to say boo from behind the White House curtains?!....

Walked the dog in fog, far too many clothes as it was so mild after our frosty days! Home for radio coverage of rememberance service, odd to hear the footfall of those leaving the cenotaph before the reduced march past. 2 minutes silence observed.

This I posted on another thread,

Met my brother and sister in law at our parents grave, did a quick tidy. Brother had managed to get 2 poppies which we put on their grave. Felt better knowing they could 'wear' their poppies. Mum always did a lovely poppy arrangement in silk flowers for dad's grave, which I thought I brought home when we cleared their house, if I did I've put them in a very safe place!

Nice to see there had been an improvised service memorial in the churchyard, there is no cenotaph at that church just plaques on the inside church wall with the names of the fallen. There was a homemade wooden cross and about a dozen RBL rememberance crosses resembling a grave. Very poignant.

We then took ourselves off on a walk around the fields. Socially distanced too 😉.

It was a very foggy mild morning, then glorious sunshine for an hour or two, but it has clouded over all very atmospheric.

    Stay safe folks

Had a lovely here here after a dull but very strong winds yesterday and upto 24.4C today so coffee outside with cake late this morning very nice.  Went for 1km 1 hour walk this afternoon and surprised to see fresh common blue butterflies out in one local field plus brimstones and clouded yellow flying about. OH sorting his IT corner out too many cables now sorted and all hidden away.

I watched the remembrance service this morning very different from last year.
