Still I've thoroughly enjoyed flicking from channel to channel following the footie -- F.A. Cup first round with no replays but extra time , penalties and oodles of goals

Go on tell the truth! That's because your team won, isn't it.wink

Watched most of the Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph this morning but chose to have a break and went out onto the front for 11:00. Strangely the same folk were there as were out 'clapping for the N.H.S. ' earlier this year.  Back in after the obligatory " Wave 'n Chat " and continued watching the wreath laying.  Had a late salad tea & whilst digesting had the repeat of Cenotaph on and had to raise a smile to hear that the BBC were on the ball, correcting slight slips of the tongue by Huw Edwards ( surprised ) almost unheard of !! That H. E. made slips not that the Beeb corrected 'em  of course wink.

Humour apart its still a rather emotional programme for some of us.

Quite a damp, still and mild day here but managed our 3 walks so far without getting wet. Not done a lot otherwise, apart from clean the fridge in the van, and move bird feeder nearer to the trees to see if that will attract more birds, then watched the FA cup ties on the box.

We did get our flu jabs done on Friday. We couldn't have been in the doctor's more than 5 mins in total....very efficient.

Waiting for our food delivery including our neighbours. A big difference this time round, more missing items and substitutions. Elderly neighbours are very set in their ways but I'm afraid it's Fairy instead of Ariel!

I seem to remember that on the occasion of our only ever delivery some years prior to COVID they substituted non-bio wash for bio wash! We now make use of unchecking the substitute allowed box. I did notice that you can add a note for the picker although we have not used that function yet.

Yes luckily the substitution was similar, both bio! I am having to look out for slots on a daily basis and today just as the delivery arrived a slot appeared for the next one, I nearly missed out on that too...7am or 3pm...went for the later one! wink

We are a not near a supermarket and only have one Waitrose to cover a big area. No Sainsburys, nearest 20 miles. Asda is fairly close but I couldn't get deliveries there earlier on so I've stuck with Waitrose. I was going to start home deliveries before Covid struck, I find supermarket shopping the least favourite of activities!

Another miserable day here but at least not as wet, could do with a good wind to clear away the grey skies. A friend who is currently on the Moray coast says it blue skies and lovely yell

Nothing exciting going on here just housework and more paperwork. Have finally got round to setting up our wills.smile

Tomorrow I will contact the club again about our tunnel booking, I've been waiting for 2 weeks now for them to contact me yell

Its that time once again to re negotiate out LPG contract, I get the pleasure of that as OH is far to soft when negotiating laughing

Off early supermarket shopping on Tuesday as they do not do click and collect yet, also OH rang the nurses re diabectic blood check and left a message and later one of them rang back how about 6am Tuesday morning that made me giggle he is not a morning person so she said the nurses station will be open from 8 to 9 am Tuesday so he will go then whilst I do the shopping, also he  has doctor's appointment Thursday so good timing with the blood test.

Have managed some more tidying up around the garden and again very warm 24C so coffee outside but changing to rain overnight then dry again and upto 18C.

    Stay safe folks.

Miserable weather yesterday. The early morning fog only lifted to dark grey heavy drizzly murk. We watched th Remembrance Day service from Peterborough Cathedral online yesterday morning. Like everywhere else the Cathedral was empty. Just the clergy, 6 well distanced adult choir, 2 flag bearers, the Mayor, and 2 'dignitaries'. It was a wonderful and very poignant service. Didnt do much for the rest of the day and felt very fed up by bedtime so this morning we went for a 2 hour walk round Ferry Meadows. It was a lovely bright and very mild morning. We found the cafe was open for takeaway only so had a very welcome coffee half way round. I am on duty on the Welcome desk at the Cathedral for 2 hours tomorrow morning.

Glad you managed to see your brother yesterday to tend to your parent's grave Bakers2. What a lovely thing to do for Remembrance Sunday.

I feel for you trying to shop for your elderly neighbours brue. We used to shop for MIL many years ago and woe betide us if we couldn't get exactly what she ordered!

I've booked a NT walk around tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if it's just locals visiting. So I don't whether travelling a distance for shopping is OK or not JVB? I expect some visitors will be from further away.

Millie, good to hear you enjoyed the walk. Hope the cathedral duty goes well.

RedKite, it's been very mild here, but 24c sounds very pleasant! It's not easy to put on a wide awake voice when you get an unexpected early morning call. wink

Another day just working around the house. We were on granddog duty so took her out a walk in the afternoon she’s a lovely dog a little pug so no bother we usually have her 3 days a week if we aren’t too busy keeps us active. Sorted out the insurance for the caravan and then booked the mobile service engineer to come out to do its annual service he is coming at the end of next week hoping there is nothing wrong with it had enough expense with the car over the past few months. We know there is a slight issue with the oven but apart from that everything. Seems fine to us so hopefully that’s the case

Our electric kettle started to leak at the weekend. It handy having the motorhome in the back garden as we can easily get things out of the van. Trouble is low wattage kettles are slow to boil so we needed a replacement. Found the one we wanted on JL website and placed an order. They are still doing Click and Collect as they can separate it from the shop. Off we went to CMK and as we approached there was hardly a car next the Shopping Building. Went into the Centre and saw Tensa Barriers stretching for about 100 yards along the side of the building. We were the only ones there, although another customer did arrive!!! This Click and Collect is usually very busy but perhaps people haven't cottoned on that it is still open. We can collect from Waitrose if we wish but CMK is a bit nearer.

Having listened to the Welsh FM today about the completion of lockdown, or whatever it was called, I'm a bit confused. He was stressing that only limited travel should be the norm for the time being but has allowed caravan sites to open! Surely the opening up of these will encourage many Welsh LV owners to head out in their units, as I've seen on FB requests for information on which CLs are open.undecided Wonder if WN has chosen somewhere to go to for a week or so?

    Nellie, the answer is Nope.

Too many appointments that were re-arranged such as Dentists, Builders for us and Chiropodist and SpecSavers for MiL plus a Click and Collect next week. Caravan goes in for work on 3rd December so I really will be looking after that.

Hobbling around today. Managed to play football with the bedroom wall and my bare feet at 4.30 this morning. You'd think I'd know my way to the bathroom by now.smile I have the Toe equivalent of Man Flu, that is to say not half as bad as I'm making out.laughing

Booked 2 cottages for summer for MiLs sojourn. We'll head to Yorkshire then Northumbria.

Poor neighbours relative in a bad way. She has now had to have a Tracheotemy as well as the respirator. This Covid is evil.

    Take care one and all.

    Millie

I am not really familiar with the Peterborough store (although I have been there a few times) so I would suggest you check if wanting to collect something. I think it might depend where the actual click and collect is. If it has access from the outside of the shop it could well be open. Mind you given how quiet it was at CMK I think there could be lots of people not sure if they are open. The Government did say before this lockdown that shops could operate their click and collects.

    IMHO  , JVB

You should be ok heading to a " supermarket " and not to a " corner shop ", especially if you don't stop and 'mingle' but go straight there !!

It has been my tactic from the start in March to cover a few miles to ensure the van battery is capable of at least three starts without worry.

We walked past the caravan site when walking at FM yesterday. It was surreal to see it completely empty.

One of our grandons is now having to self isolate as one of his 'bubble' has had a positive test. The whole year group has been told to stay home 😳

Enjoy your NT walk today brue.

Mixed news this morning on here. Kind wishes to those suffering or with friends and relatives in hospital or isolation.

We have quite a lockdown week to endure.....scaffolders, laggers, boiler fitters, electricians and gardeners😱 Not all together I hasten to add, and some will have no or limited access to house. Fingers crossed it all comes together now. There’s a vet visit in Sheffield to add on for next week as well, so it’s going to be a heavy week on masks, gloves, soap and anti bac wipes!

I wouldn’t have wanted the search through the poo bin JV🤢

I see Aldi are extending their click and collect to more stores.

Another very grey foggy day here, really hate this kind of weather.

Lights and heating on all day, to damp and soft to go into the garden, OH can't work outside in this weather either, can't even go and do anything in either of the vans as its just so cold and damp, wish were still away frown

On a day like this we would normally take the opportunity to go through to Edinburgh to the big retail outlet but we can't do that either as they are in tier 3, they are able to go but we can't frown

Good news about the vaccine, here's hoping it all goes to plan and we can get on with life sooner rather than later.

It was pleasant this morning so we had a morning stroll.

We were discussing Apple ear phones and Mrs WN mentioned that you can buy ear foam to wrap around them if needed. She then told me that some people sell these second hand. Big YUK!!! Who would want a pair of used ear foam pads? For goodness sake they're pittance to buy new. I did tell her it was a bit too much information first thing in the day but I'm happy to share it with you lot.wink

MiL decided that it was time for me to sort her finances out. She had paperwork going to back to bank accounts with companies that no longer exist and haven't for decades. So that sorted the rest of my day out.

Cheer up Tammy.smile Pretend it's a trial run for self isolation.

Cheer up Tammysmile Pretend it's a trial run for self isolation.

The day just got a whole lot better frown the little ginger one has put Perth and Kinross into tier 3 yell we don't have high levels of the virus but we are surrounded by tier 3 levels and we come under Tayside health board so tier 3 it is. To be honest it doesn't affect us other than we can't go away unless its within  Perth & Kinross, not sure there is anything open now frown

Oh well we bought decorating stuff weeks ago just in case this happened laughing and OH has a few more jobs he wants to do on the MH. I've been sorting out my card crafting things, looking to get rid of some of it. My knitting machine is sat in the spare bedroom so it may well get some use again smile and the sewing machine is still on the dinning table so more sewing to do smile

At least it will mean that the village idiots won't be standing around the hotel car park drinking until 22.30 smile no alcohol can be sold other than take away in tier 3 smile

There you go WN I'm a whole lot happier now laughinglaughinglaughing weather is still sh!!sealed

Looks like Tammy will be really fed up now!  frown Can't say things are improving around our area and we're really angry with a neighbour who is flaunting the covid rules, can't believe how this particular person sails so close to the wind in front of everyone! I wonder what it is that makes some feel above all this?

We had a good morning walking around Monatcute, first ones in, just nice to see somewhere other than home. We had a coffee and cake but as it was take away only had to find a seat in the garden with our goodies, so we sat in front of the house and enjoyed the views.

After that we've been busy...£80 lighter at the vets with the cat, he's a bit overweight (the cat not the vet wink) but we've put it down to winter blubber and maybe visits to other cat restaurants around the neighbourhood...?

Going to raid the farm shop box tonight for an easy meal. 🥑🍅🥦

Sorry to hear that you are now in tier 3 tammy. However, as you say there is an upside to it as people won't be travelling into your area to visit a pub.

brue, I would be very tempted to report your neighbour if they continue flouting the rules. It really does annoy me that people are so thoughtless and stupid. Glad you had a good day out. A change of scene always lifts the spirits.

I did my morning stint at the Cathedral.  We had about 20 people come in during my 2 hour stint. Just to sit and reflect - they can only use the nave so can't wander around.  It obviously shows that it is needed.  This afternoon I have been sorting out the paperwork to do Lasting Power of Attorney for both of us via the YouGov website. It is much cheaper than going to a solicitor.  A friend recommended that we use that.  It is not difficult but is going to be a bit of a hassle with getting all the signatures needed so will fill it in and then have to wait until we can meet up with people again.

Well done WN. Did you finish sorting all your MIL's paperwork in just one afternoon?
