HEADS UP.
An Amazon Prime scam is doing the rounds I’ve just got a call from an electronic voice claiming my Amazon Prime is due for renewal & will be increasing if I don’t agree then press #1 on the keypad to talk to a manager. I pay monthly, I also know they inform by mail not phone. Also they have our card details. Beware👍🏻

The "full "pitches shown at a lot of sites may just be "full with available pitches"
It will be interesting on here after the 4th july if comments come in that there were no empty pitches or there were empty pitches but the site showed full,
I was "advised" recentlythat some site will not be able to let all pitches and keep social distancing (ie near some service points)

I put the phone down on one of those calls yesterday, I don't have Amazon Prime. I bet quite a few will be taken in by it!

Nice hot day today and sunny to
managed to get out in the back garden once we got back from doing the shopping.Managed to trim the cotoneaster that climbs the trellising all along the back. It was rather hot standing up the top of the steps 6ft up. Looks a lot better now though. Garden then hoed over to remove the footprints. Grass cut, the new reseeded areas looking good. Decided I'd had enough for the time being as it was getting a bit to hot for gardening, that and the fact the kids were all out in the gardens screaming their little heads off.
This afternoon we went for a cycle ride and on the way home we called into the farm shop/ice cream dairy near to us 'Stewart Towers' very busy today, lots of cars parked and we had to queue for around 15 minutes to get an ice cream, nice though.
Quite a few of the CCC sites will not be offering any facilities at all when they open.
They will be the ones we will use, once we use sites rather than CL's

There always is & that’s what keeps em phishing☹️. All it takes is a little thought.

Another scorching day here but there was a pleasant breeze blowing when out in the open , otherwise it would have been nearly unbearable. Took Flyte down to the beach before 10:00 and we had about a 4 ml walk along the sands. After yesterday's exertions we both could feel the effects on out thighs, and walking in soft sand at times didn't help. Spent a restful afternoon sitting in the shade in the garden, reading.

why does everyone think the social distance will be reduced. it hasn't
it will be 1m plus in area's where 2m cannot be maintained, the plus means putting a barrier between ie Perspex screen, face covering, turning away etc.
It was that hot here that the breeze blowing through the house with the windows open set the fire alarms off, took a while to understand what was happening, shut a few doors and all was ok!
did some weeding in the front garden, then set up the submersible pump with the right length power lead and hose ready for future use to top up the fresh water tank when needed. Then managed to strim the back garden this evening when it was a bit cooler.
The sky has now turned black as the thunder-storms approach.
I am glad we are not going away until August even then I am keeping an eye on what develops before deciding whether to go or cancel, I think it is going to be absolute carnage through July considering what we are seeing now.

Another one that's doing the rounds is the TV Licensing one. I regularly get emails from what appears to be a genuine TV Licensing source telling me that they've been unable to take my monthly direct debit (which I do have). Clink on this link, to renew etc.
The email itself looks totally genuine - it's only when you look at the email source that you see it's some obscure email address in Belgium.
I've binned it straightaway and reported it to the National Cyber Security Centre - so be aware.
Whether it is being sent to random email addresses or there has been a breach of data security at TV Licensing is anyone's guess.

It does make you wonder if there are leaks in companies systems. I recieved one from BT the other day, not long after changing my broadband contract. It was the same one I have recieved several times over the last couple of years. Looks very genuine, all the correct BT headers and names but an obscure email source. Says there is a problem with your account and asks you to log on etc.
If it was the first time you received it and had just actioned a change as I had, you can imagine folk being taken in. I also reported the first few to the National Cyber Security Centre. However, they are still operating, after more than a year.☹️

Absolutely glorious day yesterday. It's a shame this sort of weather only usually lasts a few days before the thunderstorms start.
After listening to the countryfile forecast on Sunday, I managed to book Chatsworth for Thursday. We packed up a picnic, collected the MH from storage and set off. Found a nice place to park with a bit of shade, my only complaint is that everything slopes in Chatsworth car parks.😂
Everything seemed very well organised. Even the toilets, although we had brought our own. Plenty there but all very socially distanced, unlike Bournemouth beach. Plenty of young kids playing in the cascade but again their parents seemed to be making sure they distanced. We spent a couple of hours wandering about. The gardens were as normal immaculate. I do really like their rockery on a grand scale. Then back to the van for a pleasant lunch.
The fish eye lense clips to my phone, I have had it for ages but always forget to take it.

It's a great place to visit. Although not everyone's cup of tea, Chatsworth CAMC site provides direct pedestrian access to the park. The entrance to the garden is about a mile from the site. The Duke of Devonshire is fairly generous with the access arrangements. You are free to walk in the park at any time and cycle on the tarmac roads. There is a charge for the gardens and house but the miles and miles of estate are accessible without charge. A much better arrangement than Longleat where you need an expensive ticket to go almost anywhere.

Steve
Chatsworth is probably our most visited stately home. The CMC campsite makes it an easy destination unless you live nearby. More often than not it's a winter visit because of what is happening in the "Big House". I find it difficult to imagine that people would not like it but I have heard negative comments often without any sort of explanation. One year we went and who should be selling us our tickets was no less than the Dowager Duchess herself!!! ( I don't mean Maggie Smith

It’s interesting. But you need a deep wallet to do the whole place. They charge for almost everything. We were regular visitors to the Game Fair first week in September, but it’s years now since we have been. We much prefer Haddon Hall. Smaller, but the house and gardens are much more interesting. Credit to the earlier Devonshires, they were amongst the first to realise the value of opening up their Estate to the masses, they have survived and prospered.

Nice breeze today, no thunderstorms so still dry and sunny. Got to buy some largish pots for the garden, OH ordered two big grass like plants and they arrived today. Trying to find a garden centre where we can take the dog, can't leave her at home yet. Still haven't managed this week's planned day out with the motorhome, last chance before things get busy!
Steve. That sounded like a good day out. I got stuck outside the gate to the site at Chatsworth, no phone and OH back in the van! It's a long walk round without a key!

Just spent a happy half hour with the latest { July } edition of Old Glory Vintage & Steam magazine
. They have a report on the Twitter Steam Rally held in May. It was the only Rally to go ahead so far this year and it was a "Virtual" one with a 14year old girl as the instigator !! Entrants from as far away as Canada, Greece, Australia and New Zealand as well as Europe just to prove that Steam Fever covers the world and similar age groups as well. Even better to see that the "Award Winner" was given £200 by the sponsors, Legacy Vehicles, and that was passed totally to the three charities the show had selected to help.Kids, don't you just love 'em

No sun today, grey skies, still warm and none of the wet stuff that Francis is getting. We have been warned for it but nothing yet, went out and did some pottering in the front garden this morning.
OH has been busy in his shed doing 'things'
Now indoor having had a late lunch.
The Kuga is SOLD someone coming to collect it tonight but not until the money is in the bank
I've seen a nice little Kia Picanto that I think I will get for me to run around town in and get the shopping. I've miss my little car, the Kuga is nice but we don't need 2 tow cars and its a bit big for just nipping into town and back, OH will miss it though. Not sure what I'm doing for the rest of the day, might just spend a bit more time looking for CL's going to cancel White Water, not sure I fancy being on a site full of folk, mostly kids I would think.

Overcast this morning when we set out on our walk. We just got in and it started to rain. This didn't last long and we then had sunshine.
All the local forecasts are for thunder with vastly different start times however the clouds are now building so we might get the promised thunder at last.

I can just imagine WWP in Summer😱😱😱 We used this CL when up there, https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/certificated-locations/england/north-yorkshire/guisborough/how-la-hay-farm/
Enjoyed it, direct walking from Site out onto Cleveland Hills. Little bit of road noise at busy times. It’s close enough to Saltburn, but away from all the busy places. There are other options nearby at bottom of that page, but we haven’t used them. Guisborough has a lovely little Abbey ruins park, Supermarket, local shops, garages. Think Supermarket is a Sainsbury’s 🤔

Nice and cool today with a sea mist enshrouding the Isle, keeps the visitors away

Took a drive into Weymouth Asda to do the weekly shopping, very quiet no queues and most keeping there distance.
Been out with the new camera for some phots for you all to enjoy.
Baby seagull on a neighbours roof at about 100meters

2 seagull chicks on the adjacent flats roof at 200 meters

Who were then joined by a third

I tried to catch the German air sea rescue training Seaking, I think my action phots need more work, distance was about 2 miles

very impressed with this camera can't wait for taking some more adventurous pictures

That's White Water now cancelled if anyone is brave enough to use it.

Had a message from the C&CC club that they will be opening some of their sites in Scotland from 3rd of July, the caveat the Gov has put on them is that they are not allowed to open the facilities until the 15th July. So we are now booked into Tarland by Deeside for a few days, much better than driving down to Middlesbourgh
it will be much quieter to. I've found a nice couple of CL's (they look nice) on the West coast, so have given them a call to see if they have spaces on any of the dates that suit us. Waiting to hear back so fingers crossed, note to self get midge repellent.

Sun has now come out after about 90 mins of rain, not heavy just nice gentle rain to make everything nice and fresh again
