I wonder if this post is going to work!
been up to lots of different things over the last few days, my design for sliding driveway gates is coming along having now welded the wheel brackets to the bottom of the (really heavy) galvanised gates and measured up for the gate post for a foot gate so the three gates all meet at the correct points.
I said in a previous post I need a better camera so have now obtained a canon SX540HS bridge camera, so took bramble for a wonder, here are some samples of my first trial. Enjoy

Busy day once again, last of the snagging on the drive done and caravan is now sitting in its new home.

This afternoon I cut the grass and strimmed the edges, the newly seeded areas are coming on a treat, as are the broad beans and French beans.
More orders for face masks, think these will be the last lot I'll do that's around 150 I've done now.
Need to get things ready for going away in the caravan, first thing is to wash and polish it
the inside is all ready I did it a few weeks ago. Still looking at CL's hoping to get a few more booked. The day started off rather dull and damp but the sun came out this afternoon and it got quite warm.
Off shopping in the morning, then OH will make another trip to the skip, that should be the last (for awhile) of the garden waste. Might just get a cycle ride in with a bit of look in the afternoon.

Yesterday was very hot and, as it turned out, rather muggy. We went out to Grizedale Forest for a walk, but as OH doesn't like walking when it's so warm we were only out for a couple of hours or so. At least Flyte was able to be off the lead for nearly all the time and he managed a few dips in the streams and the small Tran. We saw only 7 walkers and a single cyclist while we were out. Spent the latter part of the afternoon reading back at home.
This morning was much cooler with a bit of a sea mist, so walking up the old playing fields was very pleasant. The sun eventually burnt off the mist and the afternoon was a good bit warmer although we did have the odd short shower, however Flyte and I did get in a 4ml walk without getting wet. The very heavy thundery looking clouds that were over the Lakeland hills for most of the afternoon have now disappeared, although it looks as if we could get rain at any time.

Brilliant photos there, thanks for posting.
How did you get them one underneath the other? Is that a new feature on CT?

Yes indeed, it still works by the way. Although I doubt it's a smart charger.
If anyone knows of a museum that wants it?

Good to see things working on CT.

Very muggy here but hope to get out for the day.
Yesterday the skies were fantastic, we did some cloud watching as the thunder rolled around in the background. The local TV weathermen mentioned it too so it wasn't just us!

Appalling heavy storm yesterday evening -- I had to walk out of the front door, all round the block { I'm in the middle of a terrace } to get to the drain at the back that was blocked by half a roof's worth of moss !! Neighbour did not have that problem tho', the rain came straight over the top of his guttering
. Think that will be yet another visit from his tame { but talent free
} roofing 'expert' .Hope everybody is awake and chirpy for a Wednesday morning. So stay safe & enjoy all those little jobs that OH's everywhere have planned for you

Thunder and lightening here overnight the loudest thunder I have ever heard. The rain was also very heavy and has flooded parts of our town and the town next door calmed down a bit now but think it is to rain again later on. Hopefully not as bad as during the night

Well done TG, Mrs One and the other ladies have 600 more to do for care homes, respite establishments and other charity organisation looking after adults with learning difficulties.
Watery sun out at the moment and quite humid. Went out early for my walk and watched a large tank reverse down the river and out to sea.
Just booked a CL in Cheshire in preparation for our trip on the Fellsman train to Carlisle. Lot's of rules for travelling on the train, including reducing passengers numbers by 40%

Just finished playing 'radio-controlled caravans' with the motor mover on the van. Yesterday, SiL came to fit new plastic soffit, fascia and guttering to the garage and since the van is usually parked across the front of the garage, it had to be moved. That meant taking it onto the road over the service strip and then back onto the drive to park in front of the house - and the reverse trip today. I was dreading the possibility that there might not be enough capacity in the battery - especially as I have just had the E&P auto levelling system fitted which also takes power. Neighbours wouldn't have been too happy if the van had been stuck across the road!
Thankfully, it just made it - and I breathed a sigh of relief

At least it provided a bit of entertainment for the neighbours!

Me too. Real bit of nostalgia there. Mine eventually packed up about fifteen years ago. Mind you, it was probably best part of thirty five years old.

I use a free third party hosting service (http://www.23hq.com)
which I open in a new window, then select the required photo and 'more sizes for sharing' , normally you can post one of the different links into a forum or web page, but not with CT!
with CT grab the phot from the hosting site (left click)and drop it into the post, getting them in the correct order is difficult though, which is why my photos are a bit back and forth, still makes a nice montage though

of course if you use more spaces between the pictures you can also type in a description of the picture etc.

I've tried your link, but it didn't work for me - but this did -

Thanks for showing the correct link!
I have used this hosting site for about 3 years now and not had any issues or problems, I use to use Photobucket until they started plying adverts and watermarks over my own pictures and wanted money to remove the dross.
I see sadly the body of the missing young spear fisher was found this morning (3 weeks) I wondered why the skies were buzzing with helicopters all morning

A couple of years ago I got a lily plant in a pot from Morrisons, only cost £1 so I think it's done me rather well!!!
David
Edit - This was uploaded from my website by tiling Club Together and Website in Firefox and dragging picture across into Club Together. I have had to manually resize but some picture hosting websites might not require that.

thanks, I'll look into it

I’ve tried to upload some photos, so I could test posting on here. They were all normal jpegs but some it rejected as “wrong file type”. I may try renaming them (some had dashes in the file name ) and have another go
it did this to me yesterday, I closed the site then reopened and it uploaded the pictures the next time round, a small glitch I think a bit like CT!

Uughh! Dull but very warm here. Been waiting 2 days to oil the deck, but the forecast keeps saying thunderstorms and flooding due.
I have however been using my time usefully and am almost finished tidying my study. I can now see the floor, which needs to be vacuumed, and I have nice dust free surfaces to use, just a few odds and ends to deal with now. Even OH is pleased with my efforts! 🙂
Pity I still have another room and a garage to deal with.

Despite now still having quite a bit of empty space in my cupboards , strangely there is not that much waiting to be disposed of, mainly a few items such as old wifi routers from previous providers to be recycled. Most of the other stuff was empty boxes and old paperwork, which has been sent to the paper recycling, or shredded and binned.OH has spent hours doing the shredding, there was much muttering about 20 year old credit card bills! I had taken them to scan and then shred, but for some unknown reason had never got around to it. 🤔
DD has sent us a video of SIL mowing the lawn with the cordless mower, so it seems to be a success. 👍 Took him 25 minutes and only used half of the available battery power apparently. Hedge trimmer has been tested to make sure it works, but not actually used as yet.

First time I've been able to get into CT through latest activity since Thursday today (I'm too lazy to wade through all the discussions to spot anything of interest!
).Have I missed anything crucial?

We had a torrential thunderstorm last night - today's been better but it's got very muggy again this afternoon and I think we're in for more of the same soon.
The good news is that they are starting to allow visits to Dad's care home again - strictly by appointment only, outdoors for 30 minutes and we have to keep 3 metres apart - I think we're going to need a bigger blackboard to make ourselves understood!
But at least it's a start and he'll be able to see the dogs - I think he's missed them more than us!
2 -
Pleased to hear your good news about the care home, Moulesy, but 3 { THREE
} does seem a lot especially in view of the almost universal clamour for a reduction to 1 Metre on going !! Still, if it keeps you and yours safe and well, then who am I to quibble
.With respect to your weather, it's raining here now and I'm sure I can hear a few rumblings ~~ unless its a bit close to feeding time of course.

Great news on the visiting M, he will no doubt be overjoyed to see you. Beautiful lily DK, very unusual colours, and what a bargain!
Photos are good rajohno, those ponies look very fat though😁
A day of mooching about doing bits and bobs today for us. OH tickling MG in garage, me sorting out wardrobe and plying the Brasso again. I forgot we had an old GWR lamp that we tend not to notice, anyway it’s back to gleaming now.

We've had a good day out with the motorhome, up to Exmoor, over Dunkery Beacon, down to Porlock Weir then onto Minehead sea front and Dunster Beach. It was like going back forty years, quiet and everyone out with picnics! Hit stormy weather on the way home but the weather was better than the forecast.

Moulsey great news that you can visit your dad, I presume you've booked your slot! Of course he'll have missed the dogs - it's the British way of saying things 😉. I hope you haven't forgotten to write clearly in the chalkboard!
We still haven't had rain but its muggy again, it seems like it's all around but missing us, even using my water butts sparingly they're almost empty! Bound to arrive tomorrow as were having our block paving cleaned, it'll take 2 days, so well go to mums to do some sorting and Dora will be free to go in and out as she wishes. I've earmarked some more plants to dig out and the hedges need a trim. Not sure I'll be able to do the latter as my tennis elbow seems easier for strapping but I don't want to antagonize it further! All pots and furniture moved off the block paving, interesting looking garden, far more pots of flowers and veg than I thought 27 of them shifted. OH was able to help too thankfully.
Last evening I actually read the essential maintenance notice - quite interesting so I copied it. I particularly liked the italic underlined bit. Has anyone else actually read it? I must say it certainly seems better than for a good while, fingers crossed.
Essential Maintenance
Sorry - we're working on the website.
We're carrying out some essential maintenance to try and improve our services to you.
We'll be back shortly.
Dora has had 2 street walks, well stroll a few yards and sniff today, and a playdate in our garden, socially distanced for the humans, with her sugar daddy it almost felt normal. Plenty of coffee and biscuits plus chat. All went very well. She's exhausted. On our 2nd street stroll there was a lady PSCO walking our streets, there have been some incidents recently 😢 we've lived here 35 years and never known it 😤.
We had a chat and she remarked on the speed of the traffic, its 20mph. Whilst we chatted not one vehicle slowed down even if they spotted her! As I type this I reckon they're doing double that........... she has promised to feed it back, will it help? The 20mph was introduced a year ago. The area has been used as a rat run because the way the council has 'directed traffic's but there's no bottlenecks currently, and must folk dont have time pressures at present! There have been 3 cats knocked over and killed during lockdown which has devastated their owners, maybe the cats had got used to quieter roads, but 20mph should give you time to react.......

Not a bad day today here, warm and sunny with some light clouds.
Did the food shopping this morning, as usual 3 lots. Still getting next door neighbours shopping and sisters bits she cant get online.
Back home and food all put away, then a nice cup of tea

OH then fitted a new (second hand) worktop in the utility room. The old one got damaged a while back. Luckily one of his friends is a joiner/kitchen fitter and recently had removed then fitted a new kitchen. He remembered we were looking for a new top and kindly offered the one he had removed. Perfect, looks good not a mark on it, OH cut it to size and fitted it no bother. Makes all the difference to the utility room and saves going to landfill

This afternoon I did a bit of pottering in the garden then we both went for a bike ride.
On return we then tested the water pump on the caravan that OH had made a housing for, works great, the noise has reduced so much.
Think I might just keep OH he seems to be very handy

Grand new, M. Bet the dogs will be as glad to see him as he the dogs. Hope you are able to get a booking very soon.
Lovely photos, especially of the Lily, David, now that was a real bargain.
We had thunder and lightning around midnight last night but no rain. Today was fine and dry up till about an hour ago when we had a shower followed by more thunder. OH had an appointment at the doctors for a blood test this morning, and then we went over to the beach for a walk. It was too hot to take Flyte too far this afternoon so just a shortish walk before our evening meal and thankfully a gentle breeze had got up. Then it was out again to do our food shopping for the week. No queues so no problems.

No queues in or around Crewe South Cheshire this evening, mainly 'cos we got a re-run of yesterdays down pour and oodles of thunder n' lightning as well. Anybody out in that must have been Emergency Workers or blooming potty !
