Yep, this last page is all I can get up. I wonder if it has anything to do with the size of the thread? This one is by far the longest, and probably has more photos than any other.
I have an ominous feeling that we might have had Summer for this year, at least until late August/September now. ☹️ It was rather like this last year, we got rained on in a succession of different places Wales, Dartmoor, Scottish Borders. It’s very wet here today. Parts of France, right down to South didn’t seem to be fairing much better at the moment either.
Never mind, still lots to do. Might be attic today for us, got lots of stuff up there to sort out. And some ice cream to churn. I found one with Golden Syrup in rather than sugar, should be interesting😋😁

We have had an interesting few days, after OH had her much delayed Mri scan monday and blood tests twice last week, ,
We had a call from our surgery last Wednesday advising that scan ok apart from slight age related issuse
We had another call from Doctor's on Tuesday ,asking if we would accept a home visit at 1100 on Wednesday, rather than us visit the surgery
Very nice Registrar came yesterday and spent about 35mins with OH doing all sorts of tests, ,outcome being she is basically "with it" and think majority of her "funny feelings" and unsteadyness are down to high blood and cholesterol levels, so medications and monitoring for now

Calm day started with a 5 mile walk along the beach and back. Had a call from a CL in North Norfolk so our booking although amended, due to caravan service is now confirmed. Looking forward to 4 July (Independence day) even if it’s only for 3 nights.
Just got to sort out a site somewhere close to Crewe for our trip on the Fellsman train
Hope that all works out for OH J
Now off to the garden to renovate some plant holders

A bit chilly here so have spent the morning messing around! Glad you've got your CL booking Oneputt. I've tentatively booked a local CAMC site as we are also dependent on our usual cattery being available so might have to cancel. Had a nice message from the cattery owner who is always very helpful. After that, if all goes well a CL would be preferable.
Just taken Waitrose delivery order from neighbours, this can take several goes as they remember what they want!

I tried a couple of posts myself, brue, and they appeared on my Profile but I cannot see 'em 'cos previous page is one of many blocked by server error grrrrrrr
.Hoping all is well with everybody now I'm back with a functioning PC at last even if CT is as sick as my old Hard Drive was

Very dull here and keeps trying to rain feels like we have gone back a couple of months and 20C is the warmer part of the day today but get warmer in next few days upto 24C but more rain forecast.
Have got friends here next week to help with DIY and mostly outside chores.
OP we bought two wooden plant holders before lockdown 5 euros each on our local buy and sell website and have restored them and they look good by the front door with large geraniums in.
Take care folks.
What has happened to this website more errors than seen before must all theses folks booking their holidays.

We have been having regular Waitrose deliveries now since late March and todays was the first I remember in the rain. I wonder if TDA is right about the summer!!!
When we first moved to MK we were not allowed to have outside TV aerials as we had a basic cable system but only 8 channels. When HD was introduced the system didn't have the capacity so from then on we were allowed aerials. The original aerial worked fine for years but we suddenly started to get a few signal problems. I had lost the details of the original fitter so got somebody else in. Never really been happy with the aerial he installed so bit the bullet and found our original fitter who came out today. In the house he found a strong signal but he decided to check at aerial height and discovered that the signal would drop slightly now and then. His view was that our aerial is in direct line of sight of a very tall tree which he thinks is causing our problem. We discussed alternatives and we may eventually go for a satellite system. This might be cheaper and easier than trying to persuade a householder or the Council to trim back the big tree?
He wouldn't take any money for his hour long visit!!!

I feel lightly better about the prospect of taking the van out after reading the C&CC updates this morning, details of sites with facilities closed or open etc and how things will be run. I sincerely hope CAMC does a similar update for members after the web site problems are sorted.

A conversation I have had seems to be that where facilities are able to open there will be add staff to enable additional cleans And that some pitches on site close to ccep and service points will not be let but as with anything to do with the virus , as in all things, the situation is quite fluid,
It is possible that is the reason of some site closeurs to find the add staff needed?

Is is good to see some update from the club regarding sites opening and what procedures will be in place. We have our main holiday booked starting from the 9th July for almost a month away and will be going (touch wood) however so suspect it will be a very different type of holiday than normal with more time spent outside such as in NT gardens etc. Still a bit of positivity in uncertain times can help and give us something to look forward to in what is and has been a difficult time for us all. Top marks to to Scotgov (as many on here know I’m no fan of the FM or her party) but credit to them for seeing that the tourist industry had to be opened at some point to save many small businesses from going under.

Good Afternoon, WN

Posted yesterday to say thank you for your kind thoughts a few days back but I cannot see if it's visible due to "Service Errors " so I'll say it again.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND THOUGHTS WN

My PC hard drive seemed to get friendly with this Website and both went out into the wilderness ! Took me a while to get it replaced but now I'm back with a new hard drive & lightened wallet

Spent a few hours with Springwatch but fell out strongly with that Buchannan Bloke rabbitting on about Ospreys in Scotland & also on the BBC website. And here is little Brian off line & half locked down in England
Still I'm Back as the drunken crop duster pilot shouted out in the film " Independence Day "

Went onto the Tesco website this morning and surprisingly managed to get two delivery slots. One for next week and one for 3 weeks time. Lately I have been struggling to get one. For speed I just copied a previous order and checked out, we will edit it nearer the delivery date. As there were two transactions in 10 minutes, I was quite surprised that the credit card page didn't prompt me for a code from my phone. About an hour later I recieved a text saying my card had been blocked due to unusual activity. Phoned the number on the back of the card and sure enough it was the two Tesco orders that did it.
In between the two rain bands, we went for a walk in the forest and came across something I had heard about but never witnessed. A sighting of the naked rambler of Sherwood Forest. Strolling as bold as brass along the track towards us, naked apart from his rucksack and boots.😱He was a guy about my age. Given the weather today wasn't very good, it is difficult to understand why anyone would want to do it. Just as well the Longhorns weren't in evidence, they might have been alarmed.😂

Oh my goodness Steve.
That's almost as unusual as being able to post about it.
We've just had a Tesco delivery, ordered 3 weeks ago and also haven't been able to get a new slot. Mrs WN mentioned something about Tesco's being taken to task for retracting deliveries for existing disabled customers but non shielding and they had to allocate spare capacity back to those people. Fair enough. I've just looked and there was one available but too close to this one so will keep an eye out.
I had to take MiL down to the retail complex to SpecSavers for a maintenance check up. On her hearing aids not her.
I reversed out of our drive only to see a beheaded and eviscerated squirrel where the car had been parked. We had a pigeon the same way last week and we've seen a new Tabby on the block carrying mice past the drive from the woods at the rear of the property so tomorrow we're off to find a cat deterrent. anyone know of one that actually works please let me know. Not a nice thing to have to clear up. The cat is huge so looks capable of inflicting some damage. Good news is that MiLs hearing aids sorted out. No swearing behind her back now.

Yes holidays will be very different, especially visiting places. Many local NT gardens are already booked up well in advance, I think they release new dates on Fridays. If anyone's planning a break I'd advise checking the different booking systems before you go. Our visit to Abbotsbury Gardens this week (missing post, presumed still there, somewhere
) required quite a bit of effort. Judging from the rucksacks and kit carried by other visitors we had all had to plan in advance. Quite tiring to get the old brain into gear after weeks of lockdown. A friend of ours who volunteers in a garden in Somerset had a preview of Montacute the other day and said the usually immaculate formal lawns where knee high. (Montacute is still closed.) So expect less than perfect surroundings!

WN. The old lady who used to live next door to us used to stick old CDs in the soiL all around her garden apparently the cats saw their reflection in them and it scared them off. I have no idea how effective this was but all the neighbours found it rather amusing to be fair she was a bit eccentric.

Just be thankful he had his rucksack and boots on

Thanks Francis but the drive is block paved. No grass or soil. Anyway, if it's the cat I saw he's likely to try to tear the throat out of the reflection.
We're thinking of putting a tub with soil in and one of those cat deterrents that emit a noise. I'd prefer a roar of a lion but these are just high pitched. There are so many of them. I looked on RSPB site but the recommended one only has a 33% reduction in frequency of visits. We don't want any visits! Not with the sort of presents he's leaving.
Looks like we'll be last in Wales to lift any restrictions.😢

We had one a few years ago. It ate batteries but could also be plugged into a transformer. It certainly deterred some cats, they used to run away as soon as they got in range. Others, possibly deaf, totally ignored it. The main problem with it was, I activated it when I went up the garden and could hear some of the output, which was most unpleasant. I didn't think folk my age were supposed to still hear those frequencies, OH couldn't. At least I know my hearing is still good, about the only thing that does work 100%.😂

A neighbour had one of those mole deterrents that emitted a high frequency sound, trouble is I could hear it and it drove me mad! Not much chance of stopping animal behaviours out in the "wild." Good luck, maybe that's the last of the hunting trophies.

Thought I'd try to post, haven't been able to for days this site so awful.
Weather today has been quite decent, we managed a trip to the skip to get rid of some of the garden waste. Another trip required but that can go another day.
OH been working on making the front driveway, posts now cemented in, just need to put a bit more to it to make a collar around the posts.
I've been alternating between making more masks had an order totalling 41, 2 lots of 10 and the rest just 3's or 4's, and pottering around the garden.
Started making bookings for going away come 15th July in Scotland, first stop Cruden bay then working our way up the east coast to Dunnet head, stopping off at Brora on the way Not sure where to after Dunnet will work that out later. Also made a booking for White Water for a few days, its the week earlier but hope we will be allowed to leave Scotland by then.
Brue, how are you feeling now? sorry if you've already posted but I can't seem to get previous pages.

TG we are in the same boat regarding having to leave the week earlier. We are booked to be at our first site in England on 9th July and have a 3 and a half week holiday planned. We can easily travel to our first site in one day from home only sticking point is this guideline of 5 miles and if that doesn’t get lifted until the 15th then we will be 5 days early but our sites are booked and we can’t postpone for a week as the sites are full the following weeks. We think that guideline will be dropped before the 15th to be honest but if not we are thinking of just going anyway a quick 2 hours down to the border then that’s us escaped lol. It’s good to be making plans again isn’t it.

Good day yesterday. Our lovely hairdresser contacted us to say that she was taking bookings from the beginning of July - did we want to make an appointment? YES PLEASE!!. All booked in for the first week in July. I just hope government restrictions allow it to happen.
We have finished decorating our daughter's old bedroom. It took longer than anticipated as there was a problem with the plaster on one of the walls. I have sorted and cleared the wardrobe and chest of drawers in there as well. The wardrobe was full of my stuff so I have had a good clear out. The chest of drawers was full of Christmas wrapping paper and Christmas gift bags. I felt quite sad as it made me wonder what Christmas will be like this year? I now just need to give the furniture and good clean and polish.
I managed to get OH out for a walk on Tuesday afternoon. We went on a walk that we did with our walking group a few years ago and not been on since. It was a lovely walk and the weather was great. So nice to get out and about. We took my car to give it a good run out as it has been playing up because of lack of use. OH put the battery on charge for a few days and it behaved just fine. It also gave me a chance to drive as I hadn't driven anywhere for months. I found that I can still do it!!
I went on to the Tesco website this morning and managed to get a slot for 3 weeks time. I have Morrisons orders booked for the next couple of weeks so we won't go hungry. I take what slots I can.
I am gad you had a good day out brue. How did your teenage dog cope with being in the MH?

Yesterday was pretty miserable weather wise, so although I have finished cleaning the deck, I still have to oil it. It was still damp this morning and by the time it had all dried off it was too late in the day to start work, so I spent a couple of hours on more tidying and pottering. Might get it done tomorrow, see what the forecast is and how things look after breakfast.
We had ordered a new aluminium hop-up from Argos and were scheduled to collect it tomorrow, but they texted yesterday to say it had arrived early so we went to the Sainsburys store to pick it up. HUGE queue, had to wait 40 minutes, will not be doing that again!
OH took the opportunity to do some food shopping and reported that although the store was very quiet, getting through the checkout was very slow and the cashier was very abrupt with the customers. Very different from the friendly approach at Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and M&S!
Afterwards we took the borrowed hop-up back to DD, along with some treats for Callum, who was allowed to come to the side door and wave to us, and picked up a few things she had got for us from Asda.

I'm hoping the 5 mile will be dropped by then as well, I think we will be a bit longer than 2 hours from here to the border going down via Edinburgh.
It certainly is good to be making plans again. Looking at visiting places we haven't been and some we have but not for a long time. Might even get to Orkney yet
we will be down your way come August sometime.0 -
Morning dull but calm and warm here weather wise.
I got back to the 'missing' pages of posts I think, they were ones I'd not seen before, but didn't read brue's account of her day out or ABM's which they both mention. Now the latest activity page, the way I like to check CT is still throwing server errors, but threads with tabs open are behaving.
Good to read of folks activities and plans.
I got OH and the puppy, in her backpack - not so keen now, for a stroll round the block. His first outing on foot since this all began. Saw a couple if people in the gardens and passed a distance chat.
Glad folks are getting delivery slots, we have one for Saturday 😀 and one a fortnight on. Did have one for 20th but cancelled that as a bit soon. My biggest issue has been fresh fruit and veg but local farm shop open in the old fashioned way, stand in a queue await your turn ask for your items 😀, all be it outside but they may try allowing folk in next week to test it out. They're not selling much other than what folks can see from the permanent outside display. So I can stock store cupboard/freezer easily every 14 or so days. However, I do find I'm spending much more - but getting frustrated by lack of stock - peanut butter this time, you put it in double check your order a day or so before, marked no longer available and removed from your basket as you checkout. Because I cancelled next week a few days back I moved items this happened, but when I logged in to double check this morning that items they removed are back in stock. Certainly fewer offers!
Enjoy your day folks.

Quite misty here this morning, during my early walk the ships in the harbour took on a ghostly appearance. Took a couple of photos and the results looked akin to a Monet painting.
Keep asking myself where time has gone, today is the Grandtwins 6th birthday so will get to see them later, at a distance of course 😷🎂🎂🍰
