I the world of oven cleaning we are glad we had a new oven with the kitchen. When it needs doing, hopefully not until after lockdown we will get our usual man out from Sparkle Oven Cleaners who always do an excellent job.

Lovely and sunny all day here in the end, we have fans running (solar powered) to move the warm air round the house and prevent us overheating.
OH was paper shredding, but I think she has overworked the shredder as it is now refusing to go. Hopefully a half hour rest will rejuvenate it.
Now that the first secret birthday present project is complete, we just have to figure out how to transfer it from here to its destination 20 miles away, without the recipient noticing.
We had FaceTime with Callum after lunch, but all he was interested in was seeing my cordless drill and getting me to fly my little radio controlled helicopter.
He and his Mummy have been planting seeds now they have compost, though whether many will come up is doubtful as they were mainly leftover packets of unknown age. Worth a try anyway.

Asda 'Click & Collect' completed but their systems seem to be struggling under the extra load. The promised email confirming that the order was ready for collection has not arrived, and the order was still shown as 'in the course of preparation'. There is a note on the Lockers to call the store if any problems, but when we did so, we were greeted with 'Overwhelming number of calls at present, cannot answer, please try later...' message.
We worked out the process after a couple of false starts [best for one of us to hold the locker door open whilst the other carries the bag to the car to stop the locker from re locking automatically], and, having gone through the process, we will be better prepared for the next trip. Another new experience in this strange new world!

Just had a rather worrying email from Dad's care home to say they have cases of Coronavirus in the home. He moved there 15 months ago after being hospitalized with acute respiratory problems. Worrying times, we haven't been able to visit for some time but have kept in touch by email and phone. Just have to hope and pray for the best now.

Will be thinking of you and your family M. Very worrying times. X

60 residents on 3 floors - they all have their own rooms so I guess they can isolate anyone who has the virus. We're assuming we would have been told if Dad was one of the cases. We were a bit surprised that, until this week, they seemed to be having meals together in the dining room on each floor.

Will be praying and thinking of all or you M.

That does seem to be rather, well, cavalier I think is a polite way of putting it, M. Fingers crossed.
We have literally just heard of the death of my cousins mother in law in a home from "virus" like symptoms. She only went in at the beginning of March for a 2 week respite and review but the lockdown meant she had to stay. The home thinks it's virus related. The care of those in homes and their carers seems to have been placed well down the list of priorities.
Best wishes that your father can come through this.

Moulesy: Sorry to read the news about your Dad's care home, will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed . It has been an odd day as it is my birthday and all plans made earlier in the year haven't happened, but it doesn't seem important at the moment.
Did have a get together via Zoom this afternoon. Youngest son has been working hard over the last couple of weeks on the all the new bbc bitesize stuff for children.
Did receive a rose in the post, just got to find somewhere to plant it and then hope I don't kill it!

Worrying times M, best wishes for your Dad. OH's Mum is in a care home.
Lovely sunny day today, chilly if in the shade and wind but otherwise nice in the sun.
Bit of shopping for others this morning and then delivering it to them. Once home we had a cuppa and decided what to do.
Gardening won
OH was busy with both bikes again while I did the gardening, nothing new there then. Plants getting dug up and moved all over the back garden. Thankfully not to hot for them to suffer from it, got the hose out and gave them a good soaking.
Think we will get a good sunset tonight, sun still shinning and the sky is still blue.
Oven cleaning is no more in our house, we bought a new one recently and its self cleaning

Just seen your post, M. It must be a worrying time for you both. Hope that all turns out well in the near future. Our thoughts are with you and your dad.

Brue Cleaning the oven was one of the jobs I did at the beginning of the lockdown, it probably would never have been done if we hadn't been lockdown.

Thanks Brue,

Happy birthday Helen ๐ฅณ It may be a strange kind of birthday but hopefully the only one youโll ever have in lockdown. Enjoy a glass ๐นof something and look forward to having more celebrations in the future. Your birthday will spread out over the year and be the longest celebration ever. ๐๐

Happy birthday from me too, Helen. It certainly will be different for you compared to other years.
The day didn't start off too well as, apart from it being somewhat cloudy and cool, when I went to open the car, to replace some bits, it wouldn't unlock, there being no life at all in the battery, I tried my battery charger on it but couldn't get a charge in to it. Called Green Flag and after a chat with them decided to leave calling them out till we want to use the car again in the middle of next week. Looks as if I'll need a new battery
The day did warm up a bit and I waxed one side of the caravan after lunch, then got in our afternoon walk. Still no rain here so having to resort to watering our plants by hand.
