Mrs M has just finalised the 'Click & Collect' order for tomorrow at Asda. Theoretical total is £95, but by the time all the 'out of stock' items [eggs, flour, UHT milk, Weetabix etc] is deducted, probably nearer £30. Less a Shopping List, more a cross between a Lucky Dip and the Lottery.

I rather enjoy baking, brue, though OH does sometimes tell me off for trying to take over!
Cakes I leave to her, but I can do scones, when allowed to, and the bread machine is strictly my preserve, though I am sure OH could follow the instructions if necessary.
Dishwashers, washing machines and tumble dryers are however way above my pay grade!
DD is an avid banana loaf baker, banana muffins too. They get free fruit provided in her office and at the end of the week she brings home what is left over, usually a fair quantity of bananas included, and uses it up in her baking.
However, as her office is closed meantime, the free banana supply has ceased and she is having to buy large quantities of them as they seem to form a large part of Callum's diet......he has been known to eat 3 in one sitting!
We have just had our potato and leek delivery, by SIL, who also took away the pile of stuff we had left out for them on the front steps, so we will be making soup again tomorrow. I can also now go back in the loft to see what else we can inflict on them in a week or two!

Re the Matthews flour brue, they are apparently cutting their range and you now need to order a minimum of 5 x 1.5kg bags of any one flour. So if you want 2 or more types, that would be a fair amount of flour in total.
This was only stated this week, so since you ordered before that you may well be under different rules. They are also saying 10-14 days from acceptance of order to delivery at present, but sounds like it may be taking a lot longer!
Update....OH just had a look and the latest is that the shop will now be open on weekdays at 10am.......for 15 minutes only!!! And no mention on the home page of the reduced range or minimum order. It does however say it if you click onwards to the home baking range.

We have some much needed rain here this afternoon, we haven't had any for weeks.
Went out to clap for the NHS and carers last night, the noise was amazing, clapping, whistling and horns all round our estate.
Was checking the paperwork this afternoon at work, 52 pallets of toilet rolls delivered today, supplies obviously improving
no bread flour though.
Through careful meal plans I haven't had to visit a supermarket for two weeks, milk has been bought from our local small co op , but had run out of fresh veg and fruit today so paid a visit to a local small farm shop which I had discovered was still open. It was much less stressful, only one person in the shop at a time and exit was out of the back door. I was able to get some veg fruit and some eggs together with some compost so came home chuffed to bits.

Not so cold here today but certainly not warm either.
Been doing jobs around the house, like others, lots of sorting out and chucking away going on.
Utility area now looking nice and fresh and tidy

Need to go out tomorrow for a few things, haven't been doing Saturdays for the last month so hope its not to busy.
One is a click and collect at Wicks for SIL who is isolating but getting board so wants paint, she was widowed last June so finding the lockdown difficult, as she can't see her children and grandchildren.
The other is food for my sister, who is in isolation with her husband. She got a delivery from Morrisons but some of the items were unavailable, I know I can get them in Aldi for her.
We are doing very well for food don't seem to be getting through much from the freezer as I'm managing to get fresh stuff all the time.

Be careful with Callums banana intake Kj. Not wishing to stick my nose in but I had to get to know my food intake due to my kidney condition.
Bananas have a warning sign for me due to their Potassium level. Not a problem for an otherwise healthy individual but I keep my consumption of them down to one or two a week. I read up about them at the time and know that unripe bananas are healthier as they have more starch which can help the gut whereas the ripe ones have turned the starch into sugars. Also a banana gives you about a third of your B6 daily recommended intake so having 3 would probably overload young Callum on that front. B6 is obviously good for you but the body can only take so much of anything.
As I said I don't wish to stick my nose in and you may already be aware of all of this so apologies if you are. In which case please ignore my ramblings.

I agree with this WN. OH also has a kidney condition and was told to stop eating bananas as his tests were showing high levels of potassium. I would say with a little lad of Callum"s age 3 in one sitting might he a bit too much. Like you though I wouldnt wish to interfere but thought it might be worth mentioning

Completed the polishing of all the kitchen cabinets, inside and out, this morning. Thought that I'd run out of jobs but the wax for the caravan arrived in the post this afternoon, so I can now give the caravan a good old polish over the next few days. It was a good bit cooler today but at least the sun continues to shine.

No problem WN, we did wonder about that too so looked it up for more info. It seems one can have too many bananas, but it has to be a lot, regularly, for a long time to be a problem if one is otherwise healthy, but as you say, one can have too much of a good thing.
His 3 in one sitting is not his usual intake thankfully, but he really does enjoy them. Mostly he has only one a day. I must say I too am fond of bananas and usually have one every day at breakfast time.

Thanks for the heads up WN. I had better go and sort out my weekend wardrobe 😁

We had a serious amount of rain yesterday, the first for ages. OH has been complaining about the hardness of the ground during her horticultural labours. I was less grateful as I was standing in a queue to access Iceland.

Absolutely pouring down here this morning. Back in with two soaking wet hyperactive dogs! I remember when I started teacher training in Hull one of my mentors told me to watch the weather because wet and windy was a sure sign that the children would start playing up. 50 years on that piece of advice just came back to me!

We were promised, overnight, but nothing so far. We fitted a new water butt back in mid March. It hasn’t had a drop in it so far. And I have roses with buds fattening up to flower.....in April🤷♀️
We saw some family yesterday, couple of OH’s brothers, who live next door to each other, and let us have some eggs. And then up to drop off some meds and goodies for my Mum and Sister. We needed some essential supplies as well, so decided to go to our retail park, and use Morrison’s there. Didn’t bother, queue right round building. Same as we passed Tesco. Aldi? Walked straight in, got everything and more that I needed. All social distancing carefully maintained, but it was nice to chat for 10 minutes with family. Everyone doing fine thankfully. 🙂

Hope the rain arrives for those that need it, it's certainly looking greener here, we could do with a bit more but I'm not complaining. It's also stopped the dust blowing off the empty ploughed field.
I'm on here this morning as I have a very low urge to clean the oven. I was having a nice lie in with the cat earlier (the cat has to put up with a lot of puppy play from our new dog, so he likes a bit of time on his own.) Then the phone rang, my elderly neighbour requesting custard creams to go on the click and collect order....I ask you, what a topsy turvy world we live in just now...food orders being taken in bed!

Sunny but a little chilly here, though some clouds are drifting in now. Heating on for a couple of hours earlier, but hopefully enough sun to keep us warm all day. If we get a fair amount of sun, we will not need any heating this evening.
Now, what have I on my list for today?

Brue - resist the urge to clean the oven.......because if you do yours, I’ll have to do mine! ☺️ And I’ve been ignoring mine all week. I cleaned the rest of the kitchen and then thought the oven is for another day!
Our day has started rather nicely. Our friends messaged us last night, saying expect a delivery tomorrow. Make sure you’re in.😐......we’re not going anywhere!Ten minutes ago a brown box was placed on the doorstep by a courier driver. It contains a selection of homemade chocolates from a small business in West Yorkshire. All the chocolates are in the shape of dogs, paws, and bones. (For human consumption) The lady usually has a stall at all the local dog agility events, which have now been sadly cancelled so she’s posting orders to customers instead. Just got to choose which one to eat first......

Message from DD that she has an Asda delivery booked for Monday, do we want anything? Although we did get coffee whitener couple of weeks back, all this staying home means we are using more than usual, so we have requested that.
She has hidden away most of the stuff we sent down to her until she has time to investigate the boxes, but Callum did spot a rabbit soft toy in one, so he was allowed to have that. Rabbits are a bit of a favourite with him, so it was on the table last night, "helping" him to eat his dinner 🤣
DD has completed her first solo DIY project, 3 shelves for her garden store room, each made from 2 lengths of fence slats fixed together with short pieces of the same on the underside, looks good! Maybe I can retire from DIY soon.

Just filled bird feeders and got wet for the privilege
so a quick rub down with soap ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,. Little blighters wont go hungry chez A B M tho cos I've finally done all my "On Line Food " ordering -- even some bird food is limited apparently so I'm just hoping all my 'meds' are available, and that it stops raining when the pharmacy calls to say 'Come and get it BUT join the queue !'
Do hope that the rain in Britain falls mainly on the gardens / gardeners
but not on their OH's washing

A day for the garden nice and sunny although a bit of a breeze. Going to give my bike a service and a clean ready for the week ahead. If the weather is like this later on it will be steaks cooked on the BBQ tonight.
We gave up ordering from all the major supermarkets couldn’t get a slot but SWMBO discovered one of the shops in the next town to us was doing deliveries so we have been using them and so far they have been great order on their Facebook page and get delivered the same day and they even call if they don’t have something and let you know the alternatives. Great service and we think it is good to give business to the smaller local shops at this time.
Hope everyone has a nice day don’t do too much

Our first 'Click & Collect' set for late afternoon, so first outing in car since 27th March. The initial Order came to over £90 because there seemed to be some Multi Buys available up until last night. None of these have been 'issued' so about £17 off the bill. It's a bit like 'Bullseye' but without Jim Bowen's 'Let's have a look at what you could have bought ...' [adapted] catchphrase; or like bidding for supplies at an auction

I had an email last night from Asda, saying
. . . . . .
“The government has let us know you need support, so we are making you a priority customer.
You may hear from other supermarkets too and you can choose who you want to shop with - but please only choose one.
If you do choose Asda, we will provide you with priority access to set up a regular weekly delivery slot.
How it works
We have set up a free Asda priority pass for you. Your free pass gives you:
priority on new home delivery slots as they become available
the chance to book a recurring weekly slot for peace of mind
free delivery”. . . . . .
I don’t know how I am identified, as I may be over 70 but have no other real issues.
i don’t think I’ll take up the offer as we are managing with the limited Click & Collect offered by Booths. A choice of 150 essential items that seem to be OK for us. And a very well stocked large freezer.

Is there a shortage of custard creams (I ask myself) as I couldn't find any for my neighbour when adding her order to our Waitrose click and collect. Hoping this is the last c&c because delivery slots are appearing frequently for the "priority" group. I'm wondering if this is improving generally if Asda are contacting people?
0 -
No delivery slots available Chez Wherenext. Welsh Government seem to have a tighter definition of vulnerable.
Mrs WN does agree with Nellie's comment of a few days ago about my idiosyncrasies, these solely related to allergy as before that arrived I could eat and did try anything, so she thinks that we would still need to do a shop even with a delivery.
Entertained myself by shredding a load of paperwork that needed doing and was waiting for a rainy day, which coincidentally just happened to be today. Also slowly processing and updating my CD collection. You start seeing too many numbers after a while so it's going to take a while. I did find a few that I had forgotten about so they'll be getting an airing soon and there were others that I wondered why they hadn't already gone to the charity shops.
Those who are oven cleaning prevaricating.... I'm feeling smug as ours is clean.
No lingering smells here.

OOh, I've been good WN, I cracked on with it most of the morning. I used "Astonish" which I've never used before. The problem was a friend of mine who "advised" me just before Christmas when I said I was going to clean the oven "to leave it till after Christmas just in case I dropped the glass door," no door, no food etc. Then I was ill and the oven got used but forgotten. Anyway thankyou "Mr Astonish" you were a great help...my arm is aching now...
