A powerful Coronavirus Letter To Humanity

The earth whispered but you did not hear.
The earth spoke but you did not listen
The earth screamed but you turned her off.

    And so I was born...

I was not born to punish you..
I was born to awaken you..

The earth cried out for help...

Massive flooding. But you didn't listen.
Burning fires. But you didn't listen.
Strong hurricanes. But you didn't listen.
Terrifying Tornadoes. But you didn't listen.

You still don't listen to the earth when
Ocean animals are dying due to pollutants in the waters.
Glaciers melting at an alarming rate.
    Severe drought.

You didn't listen to how much negativity the earth is receiving.

    Non-stop wars.
    Non-stop greed.

You just kept going on with your life..
No matter how much hate there was..
No matter how many killings daily..
It was more important to get that latest iPhone than worry about what the earth was trying to tell you..

    But now I am here.

And I've made the world stop on its tracks.
    I've made YOU finally listen.
    I've made you take refuge.
I've made you stop thinking about materialistic things..

Now you are like the earth...
You are only worried about YOUR survival.

    How does that feel?

I give you fever.. as the fires burn on earth.
I give you respiratory issues.. as pollution fills the earth's air.
I give you weakness as the earth weakens every day.

    I took away your comforts..
    Your outings.
The things you would use to forget about the planet and its pain.

And I made the world stop...

    And now...
China has better air quality.. Skies are clear blue because factories are not spewing pollution into the earth's air.
The water in Venice is clean and dolphins are being seen, because the boats that pollute the water are not being used.

YOU are having to take time to reflect on what is important in your life.

Again I am not here to punish you.. I am here to Awaken you...

When all this is over and I am gone... Please remember these moments..

    Listen to the earth.
    Listen to your soul.
    Stop polluting the earth.
    Stop fighting among each other.
    Stop caring about materialistic things.
    And start loving your neighbours.
Start caring about the earth and all its creatures.
    Start believing in a Creator.

Because next time I may come back even stronger....

    Signed,
    Coronavirus

That sounds like a really crazy design fault. If it wasn't KjNelln posting, he's on the ball with DIY and this stuff usually, I'd say that the easier top-up had been overlooked.

Our motorhome was diesel but an older model and the car is petrol. Should I ever have to change vehicles it's a question I hope I remember to ask - where is AdBlue top up point? Cos I'd probably have to pay someone to do that if it involved removing heavy items! How on earth do folk unable, say disabled in some way, to DIY manage?

Not much to report here. Jolly chilly again yesterday. Managed some kitchen cupboards, floor ones oneside to do this morning. Dont know if I'm slow, thorough, or unmotivated ๐Ÿ˜‰ seems to take me much longer than others....... I wonder how much dust etc gets into closed cupboards, no surprises of out of date or 'finds' so much have done them fairly recently ๐Ÿ˜‚. Watered the garden again!

Beautiful if chilly start again. Kitchen to finish so I'll aim to do that and the dining room can wait until tomorrow, again, not like me not go be motivated. Rest of the house needs a duster and vac again. Only finished blitzing that a week ago - I can see why I'm not motivated ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Had my delivery of fruit and veg, looks lovely, OH says satsumas are good. Going to make a fruit salad with the strawberries to make them go further, peaches ๐Ÿ˜ฏ look a bit under ripe so have been placed on a sunny window, and hard so that should disguise that too. More apples than we are likely to eat so they can be incorporated too. Nice cauliflower but no broccoli- but that's as well as both should be limited if you have under active thyroid which I do ๐Ÿ˜€

My cleaner, bless her not cleaning, but grabbing me some bits and we all know how long unpacking and storing shopping takes these days ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Must get those cupboards done pronto.

    Stay safe folks

Another lovely day, I'm taking my time to enjoy what we have at the moment. Food has become important because looking for it is a survival technique. The family are important but we can't see them, technology has advanced to give me some contact with the outside world.

Hmm, a pile of ironing also awaits...๐Ÿ

Iโ€™m definitely no domestic goddess. Cupboard cleaning......ironing....๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I can always find something, anything, that comes before those two little pleasures.๐Ÿ˜‚

Lovely day here, warming up nicely. Weeding........or ironing? Simply no contest, if I can find my trowel......๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ˜

Itโ€™s a lovely sunny day here so Iโ€™ve already done two loads of washing and weeded the front garden.๐ŸŒฑ The green garden waste bin has just been collected so I can continue in the back garden to refill it.
On Sunday I filled my day looking at cookery books for future reference. I found some nice tapas recipes, so due to the sunshine being kind today, Iโ€™ve decided tea will be tapas, cooked on the Cadac, in the back garden........I can pretend to be sat outside my caravan on my holidays.๐Ÿท๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒž

Cupboards? I was motivated last week and restacked the boxes in our one and only food cupboard. The only things I threw out were Rice Flour and Ground Rice (which I knew were several years old). The rest survives for a few more years.

David. Whilst doing the ironing I asked Alexa to play some Spanish guitar music!

Goldie, also whilst doing the ironing I glanced up at our Aga rack (no Aga) which is over the cooking area holding all the pots and pans. Many a guest has walked into a dangling pan but I still like it...what I didn't like were the festoons of cobwebs that have suddenly appeared so another job followed the ironing.

Just my luck that I had a big kitchen tidy up early in the year and threw out a lot of old packets that were probably usable but I do have tidy cupboards at the moment.

I am now looking at our farm shop veg box which I left on the kitchen table over night. A nice organic cabbage from Lancashire is one of the random items. The mixed eggs are free range, white and brown. The box was delivered by our daughter's partner who is now working on the organic small holding attached to the farm shop, we've had lovely fresh salad stuff from the poly tunnels. He looks fit and well, I don't think he's ever done so much "land work" although they've got an allotment too.

With all due respect to Kj, I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to describe it as a 'Major operation'. It takes me about 10 minutes maximum to top up the adblue tank and since it's only required once or twice a year, it's no big deal. If necessary, some dealers will do it for you at no charge other than for the cost of the Adblue.

Ah!  But you have not seen all the stuff that travels in the back of our car!  It has been like a mobile workshop for most of the last 18 months, and having only been grounded for 3 weeks, I had not got round to emptying it, mainly as I had nowhere at present to put everything,

If we have to top up when away in the van, it is just as bad, as we carry a lot of stuff in the car.

It would have been much more sensible to have the filling point easily accessible.

I have a VW Tiguan that has the AdBlue tank in the boot floor, and it is a major operation,if not a proctological irritant. It's even worse when the 'Feed me' light appears if you are towing and there is a bootful of kit to remove before lifting out the Spare Wheel and a voluminous lightwight surround.

Then the car has to be on level ground, the Adblue has to be poured via a nonreturn valve style of pourer, then you have to wait for 1 minute before turning the ignition on to ensure that the refill has been registered by the system, then you can put the spare wheel holder back, followed by the spare wheel, followed by all the kit and caboodle from the boot.

It's why the Mark 2 Tig has a separate Adblue Tank mounted alongside the fuel filler neck. Much more straightforward, but, hey ho.

Phoned our GP yesterday following receipt of text last week after registering OH as vulnerable which side speak to GP if you've not had the letter. Good response they confirm he is on the list....... Social prescriber, take no notice of the job title I was told, would call Thursday. She called today nice chat and good giggle over the state of things ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. Told her it was more of having things in place if necessary - now have a telephone number to call, it's Provide apparently,  she understands quick response now volunteers are sorted hopefully we won't need to use it.

Finished the cupboards and vac'd through,  that's more than enough for one day!! Casserole to prepare in a mo, this is lunch break. Glorious but breeze is chilly so need to tuck yourself under it. Lunched outside ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Then I'm going to read the last 100 pages of my book. I'm wanting to get to the end but reluctant at the same time.

Nextdoor just straightened up his fence and sorted the wayward panel between out conservatory's ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Brilliant cosididnt know how to tackle,  he came our side to sort which was fine social distancing and all that. Just got one more bit to sort, which will need to be done from his side, where we have a small gap between the fence panels and treetrunk that could be an issue if we get a little addition next month ๐Ÿ˜‰. Wasn't an issue with grand dog as it wasn't there and now she's too big to even get through our shrubs to it - won't be the case with a smaller one ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Oneputt great writing, says it all so so well. Let's hope humans actually learn from this - but I won't hold my breath ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข

Point taken Kj.  I admit it's not ideal and would have been easier had the filler been somewhere near the fuel cap.  I don't have a spare wheel in the boot because you can't get a full size one in there, so I carry a full size wheel on a roof rack and consequently it takes me no time at all to get to the Adblue tank filler.

If we're going away on a longish trip, I always make sure the AB tank is topped up before we go - to avoid the very situation you have described.

Spent a couple or three hours trimming a shrub between my fence and  workshop { shed !! } Then scratched my head wondering how to fasten the waterproof covering back, 'cos the bleep bleep ivy had sneaked in and started, as it does, to force its own path around the world. Eventually got it sorted but only at the extreme cost of recharging the electric drills two batteries frown and forcing my way with the drill thro the bushes, one of which has inch long sharp pointy bits most of which point away from me and therefore leave nasty bloody scratches when  removing my arm & drill yell .  Complied fully with Social Distancing requirements mainly due to all the birds detesting my being in the areas they wanted to be, but now I'm resting on here while keeping one eye on John Wayne solving 1890's America's local problems.  No change there then   sealed.

Keep on Keeping On if you please

Glad to hear you've contacted the GP Bakers2, a nearby neighbour has had his letter but his wife is still out and about, supermarket shopping etc. She even dropped off two cakes for us, she'd seen them in a shop and they had our initials on, a bit disconcerting really, no wrapping and I didn't know who had handled them. A kind gesture but I think not a good idea. frown

OH is out digging for Britain, sadly we heard our daughter's partner lost his Grandfather early this morning (Grandad played a major role in his life.) So difficult to offer the best help and words just now. We had a WhatsApp video link up but it's a bit like a long distance call with time delays.

The Cov.19 effect on me at the moment is I can't settle to read a book, no hardship but perhaps I'm saving this up if we're in for a longer spell than realised at home? I got out a couple of crossword books from the van and I do them late at night till I run out of brain power! wink

Mrs WN did the "Virus Russian Roulette Run" today. Everything wiped and stacked.

We fitted in another good stint in the garden and I do believe that, at the least, it looks tidy if a bit uninspiring. We won't be doing any further pruning of the bushes now as the birds are nesting in them. We're graced with some Long Tailed Tits this year. Everyone on Cat, Squirrel and Magpie watch.

Take care everyone. Glad you seem to have things sorted now B2.

OH brue, sorry to hear of your loss, hard at anytime but so much worse in these strange strange times. I know where you're coming from in ling distance calls and time delays. Sometimes it feels worse with them ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข.  I also understand about loss of wanting to read I'm only just coming back to it. Puzzle books and jigsaws were great distractions I found last year and I hope they'll help you. I'm not sure about the cakes ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Although I don't need any help now I'm glad I spoken to GP and the 'social prescriber'. And that I won't have to play whatever Wherenext calls the virus Russian roulette run! I'll accept the doorstep dance ๐Ÿ˜€.

Nice conversation with son who was off to a large supermarket for stock for themselves, MIL and uncle in law. Sadly hes being furloughed from next Monday. Despite filling urgent vacancies. On a light note a lovely WhatsApp from DIL of fields and crops  with the skylark nest sites.

Finished making our garden escape proof, but still hedgehog friendly, in anticipation of a new arrival ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Been glorious and I treated myself to an afternoon in the sun and finished my book. Not got any more that haven't been read, so it's either settle with a well loved one or treat myself to an e-book if I feel like starting another.

Bakers, can you not access an e-library? We have access to one. In fact I'm expecting an email tomorrow telling me my book can be downloaded. I reserved it and they'll end the current loan with whoever tonight and give me 21 days to read it, just like my real library.

Our Toyota has a very sensible filling point. Open the front passenger door and the filling point is at the bottom of the pillar smile it was filled by the dealer when we bought it and told next time it needs topping up just bring it in. They top up the Adblue and all fluids FOC plus they wash it as well, all part of the service when you buy from them.

Sad news brue, sorry for your familyโ€™s loss.

Bakers, I await the patter of tiny paws, and some photos.

Talking of blue photos, something got in the way of my photo of a perfect blue sky a couple of years ago, over the top of our garden.....

Been a lovely day here, chilly start but it warmed up nicely.

Finally finished the painting of the front utility room, last coat of gloss done. Floor cleaned just got to clean the windows and put everything back tomorrow.

OH did a bit more straightening of the grass edges for me smile

This afternoon we decided to go for a longer cycle ride, no point in trying to sit in the garden and enjoy the sun, next door decided to have a very noisy time in the garden. I quite like hearing kids playing out but I hate to hear them screaming and screeching all the time, along with the dog barking and the parents 'shouting' telling them to be quiet yell

We have lived here 30 years but today we found a new cycle ride along the river, because the roads are not so busy we cycled to the next village where we found a new track leading to the river, ahhh bliss nice and quiet smile cycled for miles, really enjoyed it much better than our usual route.

    Well another 'summit' ticked off.

As you can see some tricky route finding and an arduous ascent to a dizzy 426 feet (but the sty started at 320undecided). It's called Sheddon's Hill and I've found out it has a Holy Well and once had a stone circle on it's top and was an iron age hill fort.
