Lovely photo, M. He'll have a super time when you get back from SA and he gets settled in at your home alongside Lady.

I think you need to get out more, Corners. Anyway, can't hang about here all day. I'm off to get my airbag warning light sorted.

lol classic, you make a mistake and bring it to may attention then try and deflect it when i correct you with an attack.
Like I never left work!
Nothing exciting today but I think tomorrow is a palindromic day in the Hebrew calendar.

Gorgeous photo M. See you over in the doggy thread π

It was being discussed well before yesterday on the maths forums I go to and the people I have been discussing it with. And I don't know what sites you have been looking at but there is no 'different takes' at all? Why would there be, it's a simple calendar calculation? Everyone knows when the next international palindromic dates are. I think like CY you haven't read my post properly?
I stated clearly that the next time there will be a palindromic date in all date formats AND a palindromic spilt in the year which happened yesterday (33 v 333 days in the current year/days to go due to 2020 being a leap year) will not occur for another 10,000 years. I've followed further discussions on this and that won't work for the ISO date as I'm sure you picked on?
Now CY stated this would be in 12 12 2121 (and I did miss that out) and this is indeed the next global palindromic date, but it will not give a palindromic split days in the year to days left which is what I claimed and made the day even more special.
If you really have seen all the internet talk about yesterday you will have seen it was a day of celebration around the world.

My word its hilly in Hertfordshire! after a couple of months away in the flat areas of East Anglia, as we live on the side of,the Mimram Valley so which ever way we go out for a walk here it means an uphill return
but at least it is a lovely bright sunny start and Rosa still knows to do her "job" by the refuse bin to save me carrying it around

We went to have a look at how they are getting on with the bridge repairs at Clumber Park yesterday. They are using an interesting method to carry out the work. Rather than hang scaffolding off the bridge, or use mobile platforms, it has been erected on the water or rather pontoons, that comprise lots of Lego brick sections screwed together. So the whole lot is floating on the lake. They are not only repairing the substantial damage caused by vandalism but also remedial pointing and stone replacement. Designed to make it good for 200 years. Total cost is likely to be over a million pounds, some covered by insurance. Work should be complete for May, although it will not be opened for car traffic ever again, just bikes and walkers, as at present.

Good photos Steve, interesting how these repairs are done.
Very wet here today but lots of things growing in the garden now...including the grass.
Hope Goldie and OH enjoyed turning off the alarm clock!
Loved the photo of Ralph and Lady, you'll be well occupied soon Moulesy but have a lovely holiday first.
Our new canine arrival is settling in well, high jinks all round!

Calm before the storm today! Kitchen and Utility empty of virtually everything. Workmen arrive tomorrow. Not quite sure what the order of play is but I imagine they stripe everything out, remove the tiles etc. Unlike our last new kitchen, where all the units were delivered ready assembled the new ones have to be put together on site. not quite sure where all that is going to happen!!!

Two days off work, but it's back to it today.
Catching up with paperwork for me, husband and son hedging and farm man making a rather agricultural smell. It has to go somewhere and as it's wet underfoot he's driving past the house into the first field (flatish).
A hot dinner for a cold day in the Aga (meatballs - real ones, not the Subway version - LINK HERE

Good luck with the installation, I expect they will assemble the units in the room if there is nowhere else, in the order they are placing them.
Well, that is what I would do! No point in cluttering the working space with items you are not ready to use.
May have missed you saying previously, but whose units have you chosen?

Good luck with it all David, I'll be thinking of you. Feels like every where's as mess π±. Meals, however well you thought you'd planned, won't be as good but it will all be worth it. Not even a cuppa is the same..........
Our guy left us with a temporary work surface and access to water overnight every night so didn't have to resort to dishes in the bathroom π. He made the units up as he went, all sawing etc outside in the snow. Properly spoilt the beauty of the snow covered garden.

Brue great news on your new addition, hope you're continuing with your recovery?
Moulsey he looks beautiful, when are you likely to have the new addition? Hopefully once the wet days have passed π. When do you go to South Africa?
Wer'e on the look out for a rescue dog but we're fussy and busy at the mo. Got turned down for one, the rescue centre ask for completion of online application, no problem, but offer no feed back when they turn you down within the hour!! A bit like composing a CV - i know they have to start somewhere but how do you answer the question of how much exercise for the dog? Usual a good walk early and late, 30 minutes minimum and a good run out during the day......... it was easy to answer about leaving the dog, we wouldn't , but that had drop down box and minimum ithere 2 hours! Tried another - description included 'few behavioural and training needs', phone call from them to discuss them - possessive tendencies over anything and a biter π± , at 5 and a half I fear LOTS of work so sadly not for us at this time.
Goldie glad you've enjoyed a couple of non working days - I expect it feels like you never left already. Your meatballs sound lovely. Please don't mention the other ones! I can't bear the smell walking past their shops. A branch of our GP's is over one makes me feel ill, luckily it's not our branch.
Slowly sorting out my parents house, 64 years in one place gathers plenty of moss! Especially if you've lived through the war shortages! Unlike Goldie's case the next generations don't want it - possibly because of what comes too π±π±. No rush as probate needs sorting, that's ongoing too, before it can be sold. Soooo much sorting after leaving this world and don't mention the costs or possible tax! (I have a friend who is in a similar position having lost both of her parents within 7 months of each other so we whinge and whine together and offer mutual tips and comfort).
Nice and bright here again today that's the 3rd in a row but it's not sunny and the ground is still very waterlogged.

We go to SA on Thursday week and then Ralph will come to join us on our return so around the end of the month. There was great disappointment at our local pub today when we turned up for lunch but without him!
Don't know if you've thought about a Setter, Bakers, but if you do, drop me an email and I can put you in touch with a couple of breed rescue schemes.

Not seen any real snow here in Cheshire so far this year, B2
Only a few flakes drifting on the wind weeks ago so they don't count. I'm just relaxing now 'cos the last load is in the tumble dryer and the kitchen mats have been scrubbed & are gently waving in the breeze.
Pale blue sky with a good covering of highish grey clouds but its dry so who am I to fret
. Hope you are all getting on with whatever must be got on with and enjoying life even if it means playing with electronic machinery with barmy requirements for the date

B2, we put in several applications at different places, it was quite disheartening (although good to think they get a lot of applications.) We had just about given up for the time being when we got a phone call, so you never know, hang on in there. I think they are all too busy to answer each applicant and when yours fits a particular dog they will call, it's an advantage to be at home rather than working as many of the dogs need people around.
Sounds as though you already have a lot to do sorting the house etc. I hope you eventually get to the end and can have more time to yourselves.

In the end we decided on Wickes mainly because they will do the complete job, except for painting!!! We did have a discussion with JL but we would have to have separate contractors for the tiling so we didn't proceed.

A bit windy last night as the caravan rocked a bit.
Got up and the wind had died down, temporarily as it turned out, so we put the awning up. Then immediately took it down again. Only brought it to see if it needed lengthening a bit as our newish caravan is slightly taller. It doesπ£
Then we went for a walk around Chirk castle grounds, popped into a pub for a bite to eat, drove home to pick up a canopy awning that arrived this morning and drop other one off. Will try that one out some time this week.
Off to dealers on Friday as amazingly they have the parts! It probably had nothing to do with possible official complaint.
Just had a good dose of rain so have sent it westwards towards ABM.π

When out with Rosa at lunch time, there were numerous local and county staff looking at the damage that had been done by vehicles parking on the grass verges,(which we had said needed to be strengthed)they have now it seems at last realised ,with the "help of one of the offenders" that if vehicles are parked with all wheels on the road that it is not wide enough for any traffic ,even cars, to use the road
,so it will be "interesting" to see what the next move is
