    Brian

That has occured to me! Whilst I had a convenient space to store about a dozen crates I think I might now be up to nearer thirty! We do have a bit of stuff to give away so perhaps it might come with a free crate?

Brue, your new little dog sounds lovely. My heart goes out to the other dogs and also their owner living in a tent. I do hope they all find better acommodation soon. Your little dog must be delighted to have a new comfortable home with you. I am pleased to hear that she and your cat get on well. I always think the cat is the boss. When we had 2 cats and our springer the cats were definitely in charge! So pleased to hear that you are recovering. Take care.

Yes, I am still Norwegian, so cannot vote here.  Cannot vote in Norway either as I have been resident in U.K. too long.

Really really exciting day for me as (I'm sure you have all noticed) it's a palindromic date 02 02 2020, but what makes it doubly exciting that it is also a palindromic date in the US date formats too (02 02 2020) !!!!

This very rarely happens for both date formats - the next one won't be till 03 03 3030.

But its gets better, today is the 33rd day in the year and there are 333 days left in the year, both palindromes !!!

Then even better it is a palindromic date in the ISO date format - 2020 02 02

So it's a palindromic date and a palindromic split in both the UK, US and ISO date formats. This won't happen again for another 10,000 years.

    Worth celebrating I thinksmile

It is something that the UK should look at ,with citizens that live abroad but then still expect full rights  if they are better in the country that they originate fromundecided

Thanks TW and Oneputt, actually a slight annoyance to the day as Mrs C wouldn't let me set the alarm for twenty past two this morningundecided

    Some people eh?

If anyone invents a time machine, could they post on here last night to remind me to ignore her?

    so did:

    a) no one invents a time machine?

    b) no one invents a time machine and reads CT

    c) maybe they did and it was removed by a mod?

Miserable wet day here.....again.  Yesterday started miserable, but did brighten up mid afternoon.  Forecast seems to be for some very strong winds here, starting tomorrow afternoon, so not good.

Work on DD's floor continues....slowly....as she has taken Callum to a birthday party this morning, so nobody to assist me meantIme.

Having got as far as lifting the last of the old flooring in the 2 adjoining large cupboards yesterday, we discovered that at some point there has been a fairly thin screed put over the floors in the cupboards, and a small slope formed down into the main room.....cannot think why!  Certainly going to give me a problem fixing down this plywood.  And would have been better if they had made a small step as this could have been disguised with a threshold strip.

There is also a trapdoor for under floor access in the room, so that will be another problem.

Washer and dryer have now had to be moved out of the way, again, so looks like we will be taking home their washing to do this week.

Coffee break over.... back to work.

That floor sounds a pain Kj. It’s as I’ve always found, that one job leads to another. It’s why I dread large projects, nothing is ever straight forward!

    Good luck 👍

I might post a photo, if it doesn’t look rubbish

And here it is. Still not quite finished, have to paint the brackets and screw heads. I’ll have to see how it goes, as I suspect pigeons might be a problem. If they are, I’ll probably close off the roof a bit to deny access. It’s not a very good pic, the light isn’t great, but you get the idea. Any suggestions welcome 👍

Thanks. Daughter studied History at University and we often have mad discussions (like who was 'better' - Hitler v Stalin), now she uses her history skills to track/detect money laundering.

You will be please to note that I had a drink at 11:22 to mark the day (it would have been 22:22 in Sydney)

WELL DONE, Freddy  !!  98 % and a Gold Star !!surprised

You have avoided one of the most common errors in bird table design / construction smile.

Many, if not most of the bird tables I see for sale have the supports for the roof fastened to the inside of the feeding area making it a right ***** to keep cleaned & sterile. Not of course that it would stay sterile for very long, as I know !! Just one little point in the same area, could you fit a simple removable thin plastic, plywood or similar tray to help with that cleaning process.

    { Only 98 % 'cos I didn't design and build it   innocent  }

Yes, it is a pain!  Older houses are always more work as you never know what you are going to find.....layers of paint......dodgy plasterwork...quaint solutions to problems.

This place dates from the early 20s and was extended and converted into 2 flats in the 70s.  The work done then is fine, it is the work done since that is giving problems.

The previous owner bought it in the early 90s and at some point reconfigured the layout, making a big front bedroom and en suite into the kitchen, the former kitchen is now a bedroom, the pantry is an en suite, the utility room is now a walk in cupboard, the rear hall and cellar access is now the utility room, and the adjacent toilet/whb is now the  boiler room.   The cellar has been filled in, but the top of the stairs are still there under the floor!

About 6 years back it was extended again, and modernised, a lot of good materials used, but the workmanship, on close inspection, is not of the best, so I have spent some time sorting that too.

Happy anniversary Corners. Glad to see you're making the most of it.smile I love words and numbers. I was pleased to see a full page article in yesterdays yesterdays edition of the newspaper dedicated to palindromes.

Had an easy drive to an small independent site near Ellesmere and set up by 1 o'clock. Went for a stroll along Ellesmere canal and just got back to the caravan when the rain started. A passing shower I hope.

The site is not exactly full. Just the 2 pitches occupied at present.

I can actually vote in the local elections here, but presumably after the transition period, as the UK is no longer in the EU, that will change.

Norway was never in the EU, I assume that's why you aren't able to vote at all.
