Hope you had a good weekend Corners, and birthday wishes from me too.

It's been a few years now, but the best fish and chips I can remember were from the Black County Museum (between Dudley and Tipton).  They (or certainly used to) use lard for frying.  laughing

Congrats from us Cornersteady as we are hitting the 70 this year in July 1 day apart I am the eldest by 16 hours or so. Hopefully we will have a celebration  here but not going anywhere as peak holiday times around here and we are looking to go to the Auvergne in June near Le Mont-Dore so looking forward to that.

    Happy 70th C!🎂

our nice weather continues, been good to get some time in garden. Got the quote for our trees yesterday.......😱 It’s a few holidays worth, but got to be done.

I wouldn’t mind if we had neglected them, but we haven’t. The worst bit, that really sticks in my craw is the VAT. I am happy for the skilled, knowledgeable and happy to do a dangerous job tree surgeons to get the cash, but not for HM Tax bandits to get any!🤬

On the plus side, we ain’t going to need much in way of heating fuel for a couple of years😁

Another nice dry cold day here.

Bit of a lazy type day for me as I've been messing around with my knitting machine again. No knitting as such done,  just playing with the attachments. Decided to fit the ribber bed back to it now that I've got to grips with the main bed. Couple of practice runs doing different types of ribs. Tomorrow if time allows I'm going to do a girls cardigan.

OH was busy down at the mens shed this morning helping them collect wood from wood yard,  they needed his trailer laughing

Then this afternoon he took a load of garden rubbish to the recycle centre.  Trailer now back in its storage position.

We are also getting itchy feet, not been away since end of Nov. Off next week but not in the van, that will have to wait until mid April when we head off to Spain.

    Happy birthday corners.

Sorry to hear of your van issues, hope you get things sorted soon, are not due to go over there soon?

I assume you meant me Tammy. Yes we are going soon(ish) in early March. What needs doing shouldn't stop us merely inconvenience us.

Had an easy drive home. Only saw 2 other outfits on the road.

Happy birthday, CS. Glad to hear that you had a good weekend in the Lakes.

Arrived on site spot on 12:00 and had a pick of 3 pitches. Before we got fully set up the other 2 pitches were occupied so this CL is full, 3 M/Hs and 2 caravans. We saw 1 caravan and 2 M/Hs on our run from home.

Thanks, Tda. It was rather misty all the way from home to Skipton, then a little sunshine but it didn't last. Perhaps tomorrow will be better and you can get on with your gardening.

Glad you got away at last nellie. Hope you have a good time. Another beautiful day, wall to wall sunshine but very cold. Not very many visitors in the Cathedral but those we did have were lovely. Nice to have the chance to chat with them properly.

The result of OH's second blood test was good. All stable, back in 3 months. So a relief.

Only 60 CS. Gosh a mere child! Wish we were 60 again. 😁

    Congrats Corners!

MH: good tidings for your OH.

I will give you a wave from the train as I hurtle passed Peterborough on my way to London! For an outing to the Royal Observatory at Greenwich with a group of Carers! We normally head to the Isle of Coll as in my Avatar!

Busy day today. 9am appointment at doctors that took rather longer than usual. Then out to wash the caravan. Haven't done the car yet, which weighs quite a bit more than before we left for the Lakes due to encrusted mud! This afternoon dropped Mrs WN off at the Opticians for her annual checkup. Fortunately no new lenses needed. Phew. I had some grocery shopping to do and library to visit.

Robsail, I hope you enjoy the Observatory as much as we did.

Another sunny day, not as cold as it has been.

Bit of housework, washing etc nothing of much interest.

Shopping this afternoon once OH had finished with the lunch club, haggis neeps and tatties on the menu today. Quite a few enjoyed a nip of whisky to laughing

Ribber bed now fitted to knitting machine and a few trials of ribbing done, wasn't happy with the cast on edge though as it was a bit untidy. Back to basics and read the book again, then again. Finally the penny dropped, pays to read the instruction properly embarassed all sorted now. Can't believe I'd forgotten how to use it. I must of been much smarter when I was younger.

Enjoy your trip Nellie, hope the weather stays fair for you.

This weekend we stayed on the CCC site at Keswick  (didn't see Corners!) but we were amazed at the number of MHs.

Obviously we tend to see more MHs in winter than caravans and I accept that Keswick CCC due to its location is probably one of the best sites in this country for motorhomers ( to be honest one of the best sites full stop). I would estimate that only 10 -15 % were caravans.

I'm sure as the better weather approaches the proportion will change but it does seem that the increase in MHs is here to stay.

    Same from me too, Robsail.

Good news for your OH, millie

Hope you managed to get you CL of choice booked, WN.

Lovely sunny day after early morning low cloud. We walked from the site along The Dales Way towards Bolton Bridge beside the R.Wharfe. Lots of birds and Snowdrops about.

After 4 days of sunshine today was mild and damp.  Trip into town for a hair cut and some shopping, then work this afternoon.

Watched ouf local news tonight and apparently one of the white tailed eagles from the Isle of Wight has taken up residence with the Red Kites in Oxfordshire, will have to keep a look out.surprised

Good news on the results for your OH Millie .

Sounds like a lovely day Nellie, enjoy your trip.
