Sunny here too for a change.  Scan completed within 10 minutes, and apparently nothing untoward found, so now I have to have the bone density scan.  No idea when as yet, not good as we would like to book some sites for March/April.

This weekend we will be doing the wall tiling in DD's utility room, so she will be around to help.

Glad that the scan went well, Kjell, I too am waiting for word about a bone scan, but am not going to bother about the date of it as we want to get away, next week hopefully.

I once refused to go to Top of the Pops live when I found out it was Jimmy Savile and not Ed Stewart!😱How lucky was that!

Bouncing around with deep joy here. Gardeners have gone after two days of heavy duty hedge cutting, ivy removal, elder and hazel sapling digging out. Worth every penny, I now have the last third of the garden to play with and transform back to glory again. Found lots of treasures as well, still putting on a show. Tree Surgeons calling tomorrow to give a quote for beech trees. 🌳🥀🦔🦇🌹🕷🐞🦋😁

Bought some Seville oranges from our local shop today, decided to make some marmalade (didn't bother last year.) OH a bit disgruntled to see his whisky going in but I'm sure he'll like the flavour! laughing Some of it will go to a fund raising event so I hope it turns out ok.

Felt some snow flurries today although we had lovely sunshine but can feel the air cooling down.🍊🍋🍊

Managed to extract the Airbag ECU from the MH today without setting anything off. My tame garage man is sending it off for me to see if it can be repaired. It all took a bit longer as a screw I had removed dropped down the side of the battery box which meant removing the securing bar & hiking the battery out.

OH has decided to go for some mega expensive wood effect tiles for the hall and some similarly priced marble ones for the kitchen. Fitters booked in for early Feb which will entail shifting some heavy appliances before they come. Hope Ernie is kind to me at the end of the month.

Had a lovely day at Leighton Moss reserve today. Stayed dry after some rain before we left the site. Always enjoy LM. Plenty of small birds like Redpolls and Bullfinches and Marsh Tits.

There was some snow visible on the lower hills early on but it had melted by afternoon. Still some on high hills though.

Received a couple of "interesting" letters in the post today. First was from Teeside Hospital detailing my fracture and that I needed a plaster fitting....it was just one month late!! The second was concerning the Whirlpool recall for the faulty washers. Curry's had identified that we had purchased a model that might be at risk. After contacting them with the relevant details it turns out that our model is not one on the recall list thankfully.

We got caught up with the tumble drier thingy. As it transpired, we did ok, since our old one was well over 10 years old, which needed replacing anyway. That said, we had to pay £100 to get a like-for-like.

It would possibly have been better if they had found something as they need to get to the bottom of why I have this excess calcium in my blood!

The bone density scan is to ascertain whether calcium the is being taken from the bones, which would of course be bad. Getting the problem identified and fixed soon would let us make plans.

We are hoping to be able to head north in late March for 4 weeks or so, using a mix of sites, looking at a few CLs but do not want to book and then possibly  have to cancel. Will be over the school Easter break, so sites could be busy.

May also want to use a couple of CCC sites, which of course would require a deposit.

OH has the go ahead now for her cataract op on the 28th, so all being well she should be OK to go away about 4-6 weeks later.

It's been a bit of a busy time here. As well as the birth of our great grandson 10 days ago we have had the birthday celebrations of 2 of our grandchildren. January is becoming an expensive month!  On top of all that my Cathedral guiding course has resumed after the Christmas break and this week we all had to give a short talk on one aspect of the Cathedral.  I was given the Apse to speak about so much reading and research.  I managed OK and had some nice feedback from the course tutor today.  The formal classes have now finished and we will now all be allocated a mentor from the existing, experienced guides and work with them for the next 3 months before we are let loose on the general public. I decided to refresh the pots in our front garden last weekend as the weather was reasonable.  The geraniums that had been in the pots since last spring finally decided that they had had enough.  Cyclamens planted in some and some in bud tete a tetes and small ferns planted in others.  Back garden is still not dry enough to do much at the moment.  The weather has been wet, windy and pretty miserable this week but not as bad as some areas.  Waiting for the frosts tonight.

Sorry to her that some are under the weather or are having medical tests.  I hope all goes well for all of you.  OH is still having tests of various sorts.  One result is back OK and he is still waiting for the result of another.  Fingers crossed.

Nellie so pleased that you are fit to drive and off on your travels again. Take care this time.

We know what you mean about January birthdays milliehull, we have 2 nephews, 2 of our grandchildren and a daughter-in-law all in January.  Also a niece a couple of days before Christmas!!  We were thankful our 6th grandchild decided to wait until February last year! 🥴. Phew, the expense!!  Well done on your Cathedral talk, we always enjoyed visiting there when we lived near the area, beautiful place.

As it was such a nice day we decided to take the MH for a run to rotate the wheels and move all the oily bits. Have been wanting to do it for a while but it's been so wet and windy. A trip a short way up the A1 and then, once the van had warmed up, back for lunch in Clumber. The drainage of the soil around here is amazing, even after all the rain we have had it was fine for parking on. Hardly made a dent. MH now back in storage, its next outing will be for its habitation check.

Clumber is one of our “take the MH for a run” day trips Steve. Always a nice walk around, usually lots of birds around. We like to park up at the far end of the Lake, the “dog leg”. Then we walk a bit of the Lake, into the heathland. There’s usually a very nice Land Rover Camper Cafe doing drinks just by the weir, although like you, nothing beats a warm MH to climb back into after a walk!😁

Garden all day for me here. Doesn’t half lift the spirits seeing all the bulbs and new growth poking through.👍

Son-in-law is putting in a downstairs loo (etc) for us today.  Looking good.  Tomorrow, after our morning service, we're off for an afternoon tea (a Christmas present).  Looking forward to it.

Gardening for us as well today.  Quite a few of the shrubs have had a bit of a haircut and the rest of the garden a good tidy.  I have also given the conservatory a bit of a clean as the lovely sunshine showed up the dust!

Hope work on your downstairs loo goes well David.  We have always been pleased that we have one.  Makes life easier with both elderly visitors and young children. Enjoy your afternoon tea.

A most enjoyable day out today, meeting up with WM & Mrs WM for a couple of walks. A rather muddy one up on Birkrigg Common but with great views all round, although we had a little  soggy problem getting off!! Then another out on the coast before calling in for a pint or so of Timothy Taylor's. It was great to meet up with them again.

Quite sunny today, got started on the wall tiling in DD's utility room, lots of tiles to be cut as several sockets and switches in the area to be tiled.

They are off out tomorrow for lunch, to celebrate SIL's mother's birthday, so we will have to entertain Callum and sort out his and our lunch.

DD has said she will come back ASAP to check I am doing the tiling correctly!

She is a very demanding "client" !!
