But this afternoon we're off to Harrogate to see Squeeze (surely you've heard of them?

We saw them a good few years ago at Blackburn and they were excellent, but we only had standard seating. Hope you have a great night out, Goldie.

A third fine day at home. Work around the garden today, pruning a couple of trees, digging out the Begonias which I hope to dry off and save for next year, and some general clearing up.

Lucky you Nellie, another damp day here.

However, I have got a lot of sorting out done today, mainly wardrobe and drawers. Outed some clothes, put Summer stuff away, now got Winter stuff to the fore. Not quite sure how my sock drawer had accumulated six phones, but there’s a bit more room now! Three Blackberry’s, two Nokia’s and an IPhone 4S. They all work as well! 😁

Not too bad a day here, sunny but very cold again.  Got the sides of all 3 tall units for that utility room reduced in depth with DD and SIL helping with the carrying and holding, so I can continue with those even when they are not there.

All of the new sockets etc on that wall are now in place but I still have to prepare the wall for plastering, and to install the pipe work for the new radiator before the new wall can be finished.  I hope DD can get the plasterers in at short notice so work can proceed without delay.

There are a few other things I can carry on with meantime, plus DS has just told me he will have a new mixer tap for me to install soon, and OH has some things lined up too   surprised

Getting ready to set off shortly for Sandringham, sun making an attempt of coming  out smile

Had a few good days here, nice to see my brother and SIL.

Hoping north Norfolk is going to be kind to us.

Safe travels Tammygirl, and all others travelling generally, north Norfolk will offer plenty to explore. We can recommend Kings Lynn, take a guided tour and do the museum, interesting how the river has 'moved'. Be prepared for chilly winds from the north or east I believe it's the first land straight down from the Artic 😉 but it's bracing and windproof clothing doesn't stop you being out and about.

Glad you're having a good tour it's a shame this has been a very wet autumn 😲😢 it's never hot been generally much drier, we've always been away until November - not this year sadly.

Sun out here 🌞 turning out kitchen cupboards 😲. Should be pottering in the garden or partaking of the air but actually feeling in the  mood for 'sorting' out 😂😂. Bedding on the line but not really moving or drying but as my nan would say 'hazelling', no idea on its exact meaning but I know what she means! Yesterday's washing certainly smelt of a winter dry, 1st this year, but it smells so fresh 😃

We're collecting the grand dog tomorrow, she's going to work with our son, it would happen anyway as DIL in London all day. They are as busy as ever 😃 wedding in Lancashire this coming weekend then off on their honeymoon, delayed for the farming year although very little of the drilling done this year due to wet weather so perhaps the timing still iffy,  on 6 December,  South Africa self touring - warm at this time of year and little time difference 😉, back just before Christmas 😲😲😲.

Goldie hope you had a great time.

    Enjoy your day folks.

Looks like it might be a bit drier in Norfolk so hope you enjoy your visit TG, we're off that way soon, but will take some cold weather gear!

Hope the dog has a good holiday with you B2 and her owners enjoy their delayed trip.

The field nearest to us has only had the first plough, normally it would have a fine tilth and winter wheat appearing but I'm guessing it will be potatoes and maize, it's very wet and muddy on the surface.

OH has "gawn fishing," much debate with the club on where due to river and pond levels and other info from the EA about sluices etc. let's hope we have some drier weather next week.

Still raining here. We are not used to this at all, everything usually drops on Manchester and Pennines before it gets to us, so very unusual. Delaying things for me gardening wise, and to top it all it’s dark and gloomy as well. I’d rather have cold and frost than all this wet.☹️

Agree with you there TTDA, I think the only weather we dislike is rain.

Arrived here at CCC, site Sandringham just after 13.00, good drive roads not that busy.  Left in sunshine but arrived to overcast skies, dry so all good. Site very quiet smile

Will get out for a look around shortly.

Brue, we've got all weather clothes with us, even my quilted winter trousers and ski jacket laughing probably need them as we go north.

I like to look back on photos every now and then, and it’s very noticeable just how blue and clear the skies are during a lot of our Winter touring in past three, four years. I don’t think we encountered any rain in first Winter, some snow and frost, but I can recall the first proper rain being in North Norfolk during a stay over May Bank Holiday. Sorry I can’t post photos, they are too large for on here.😁

If you come out of the gate behind the glamping tents and bare left onto the path it takes you to the cc sitesurprised there is a bus stop outside across the road that takes you to Kings Lynn (45 min past each hour) the ccc members seem to use that stop wink the site side of the road goes to Hunstanton,

If you want a shop there is a co-op at Dersingham and the meals are nice in the cafe at Thaxsters cafe/garden centre and shop also at Dersingham, Cheapest fuel is Asda towards Kings Lynn turn right off A149 at first roundabout

We had a brilliant  time last night - good seats, good music, and a good sleep in!

We were  only away 23 hours, but it was 23 hours in a different world.

Had a very lazy day today --  just minor bird feeding duties for the 'homers' two doors down but enough to stop me travelling too far.  Still I've got three bags ready for British Heart Foundation, so nothing really wasted. Right now I've got one eye on the England Footy match and non too impressed with the petty fouls from English defenders.

I appreciate they have qualified but I'd expect more effort from players hoping to cement their places in the future teams.

Glad you had such a great time Goldie --  it's always pleasant when it all comes together like that  !

We took a drive down the coast today to Whitehaven a place we visited a few times and never really liked it however it seemed good today. It was the Christmas light switch on tonight so the town centre was busy with a street market, food stalls ect. We grabbed a quick lunch from Greggs and then made our way to The Beacon Centre. It was excellent only £6 to get in and they do a cheaper rate for over 60s :). The museum was great with a very interesting exhibition about Selafield Power Station. Well worth a visit for anyone in the area. Now back at the van very cold outside so staying in tonight it’s the first episode of I’m a Celeb tonight sad I know but we like it.

Hope you enjoy Sandringham Tammygirl. We love the area.

I do hope all is going well with your OH Husky.

Enjoy having your grand-dog Bakers2. I am sure you will enjoy her company.

I had a day out Christmas shopping at Milton Keynes with daughter and eldest grand-daughter yesterday. We had such a lovely day. I do enjoy spending time with them. Unfortunately we had an 'argument' with another car at one of the roundabouts when leaving MK which shook us all up. Typical roundabout accident when both drivers think they were in the right but all details exchanged so now in the hands of the insurance companies. It was made even more worrying as grand-daughter is 34 weeks pregnant. Daughter was driving grand-daughter's car which now has a crumpled offside front wing so she is feeling terrible. I felt useless as in the past I would have taken over driving home after the accident but dont drive in the dark at the moment because of cataracts. However no-one was hurt (although a few tears were shed)  and it could have been so much worse. It did rather take the shine off the day though.

I do hope everyone is ok now millie, what a rotten thing to happen after such a nice day out. Cars can be fixed, annoying I know just glad that no one was hurt.

First time to this part of Norfolk for us, my Mum served at Hunstanton during the war and her Dad was born and brought up in Swaffham so couldn't miss the opportunity to come see, plus other places of course.smile

Oh milliehull what a horrible thing to happen at the end of a lovely day out. Glad there were no injuries but I expect you were all a bit shaken.

Gosh new baby in 6 weeks or so - that seems to have whizzed by!

Do you have any news on cataract op? I'm delighted with mine, I have no need for lens to see distance, so I'm now short sighted in just one eye. If the light is bad then I use a cheap shop pair of reading glasses if I'm wearing my bifocal lens in the other eye, i only have to purchase lenses for one eye so much cheaper!

    Millie

Sorry to hear about the accident. Unless it's just me getting old everything in MK is getting increasingly fast and furious and there seems to have been a massive increase in vehicles on the road.

No.news on cataract op yet Bakers2. Next eye test not due until March but I might book one before then as I am finding life increasingly difficult. So glad yours has been such a success.

Yes David everything was very fast and furious. I was asked by our daughter to stay in the car to look  after and comfort our grand-daughter as she was very upset and verging on a panic attack through shock but I was very worried about our daughter going back and forth over the roundabout through all the traffic to speak to the other driver. She coped so well and was very calm and competant but burst into tears as soon as we had got home.

my Mum served at Hunstanton during the war

In 1943 my dad returned from the desert after being wounded. He and then went up to Weybourne for a few months before departing for D Day

Nice day yesterday, went to Breydon Water for a walk, unfortunately the tide was right in so very few waders around.  Followed that with a trip to Lowestoft to have a look at a chop saw, no luck there

What a horrible thing to happen Millie, glad everyone is fine although shook up

It was only when our Grand daughter was with me in our car at a round about and had done my usual "guess where I am going"to a driver who only signalled when leaving that she advised that it is now only a requirement to indicate when leaving at your exit ,instead of in the past to indicate before your exitsurprised

Sorry to hear about the accident Millie, difficult to deal with on a roundabout with fast flowing traffic, your daughter did well coping in that situation, do hope you are all feeling a bit better today.

I hope you can ask about your cataracts with the optician soon. I have been told mine are progressing slowly but I know my eyesight is getting worse so it's a real nuisance.

Sunny here, got to start getting ready for our short break in the east!
