Decent H/S pitches with a smashing view across Wharfedale to Middleham and the hills behind. And that's just for starters.😁

As we were not going to be going until Thursday we've now decided to go somewhere else.

We will go to Norfolk just not next weekend.

Now thinking of going to the Cotswolds, (Malvern ) then onto Devises. After that it might be Commons Wood (to visit my brother) then if Norfolk is dry we will go there smile

Can't decide which of the 2 sites at Sandringham we should use, if its dry can we cycle around the estate?

Visited Kipling Hall today as the last time we were there was 16 yrs ago....doesn't time fly. Because of all the rain that's fallen over here the lake had flooded part of the path so we were unable to do the full circuit of it. Instead,we took in the Halloween Trail through the woods before lunch. Went round the house in the afternoon where there were plenty of well informed volunteers, including one who has written and had published a book on the last owner.

More rain late afternoon and evening. Off to watch "His Dark Materials" now.

We visited the International Bomber Command Centre today. The weather was foggy with the sun trying to peek through. Standing at the memorial, looking across to Lincoln Cathedral was surreal. The cathedral was only just visible through the fog but highlighted by the sun. We had a guided tour and then walked around the memorial stands to find the name of my uncle. Considering it’s located on the outskirts of town, with all the traffic travelling past, it’s a very calming quiet place. A place for contemplation.

    TG

The C&CC site is a bit nearer the House. However the CMC is virtually all hardstandings. ONly ever stayed at the CMC site but walked by the other one a few times. BTW I think the house is closed now but the cafe is still open.

Hope you lot arrive in the Eastern Counties in good orderly fashion and after the approved times as well wink.

Finally got an appointment with Diabetes Dolly for my 6 monthly review, thanking 'eavens its not too urgent -- 17th December at 2:40 -- still I should be well prepared for 'Celebration Times' to follow  even if she's given me a good kicking embarassed.

CY, that shows the power of advertising, I remember that fairly short lived advert too. It was withdrawn apparently 'cos people were associating that brand of ciggy with 'Loners' - not a desirable trait in that industry,  but I never knew anybody who smoked them though sealed

Glad you went for taking MH off site DK. Providing you aren’t connected to too much, and travel fairly light, it’s quite easy. Most NT properties have huge car parks, often nowadays with dedicated MH parking. Similar with some EH and HHA properties as well. We always find it really nice enjoying a lunch in lovely surroundings, but in the warmth and comfort of our own little holiday home. It means we use travel days as doing days as well, rather than just heading for site to set up. Not booked yet, but may be using Seacroft for first time ever as base for going into Norwich. Taking your advice of using train.

Yes, I was suggesting an alternative place to visit and I'm now looking at the weather and I think it's a bit chillier over there than "over here." Has the Express forecast deep snow in the east yet?!  winklaughing

Weather forcast could be right as we have been watching thousands of geese in about 11 huge  V formations,   may have missed first couple of flocks passing strait over the site heading towards their winter feeding groundslaughingsurprised

Thanks DK, will probably use the C&CC site. Price is much better than C&MC laughing grass pitches are all out of use with C&CC now so no problem.

On our 3rd site now C&CC at Malvern. Both here and Moffat are £16pn for 2 adults, car and caravan. Meathrop was over £20pn

Good drive down the M6, just a bit of slow traffic around the roadworks. Weather was wet as we left Cumbria however we did get packed up in the dry. Bright sunshine now and again on the journey down and lovely as we arrived here, rain shower later on though.

Hi TG, decided to have a look at the forum to see where you ended up today!  So it was Malvern, as you were thinking of last night.

It was nice to meet you at Meathop yesterday and put a face to the name.

Weather here today quite wet this morning, this afternoon we went to the VW dealer in Lindale to have a very small job done, then parked in Grange and had a walk along the prom both ways, and a mooch round the shops, mostly in the dry!

Tomorrow forecast to be dry (ish!) so going for a longer walk.

    Enjoy Malvern.

TG.  One problem with the C&CC site is that it is a long way to the bus whereas the C&MC site has stops right outside the gate. Enjoy Malvern. I hope the weather improves for you.
