"Helen, any chance of borrowing Trevor for a while?"
I'll ask him Wherenext, he has plenty of spare time now he is retired.

Another lovely start to the day in Stonehaven.
Very windy since 4am, van rocking with the big gusts

Had a bracing walk along the sea front before we left, good drive down the coast losing the wind on the way.
Stopped off at the dealers on the way to buy fridge vent covers for winter, managed to leave with just the covers, phew

Back home van sorted, washer on.
Next doors cat flew in the house as soon the door opened, now fed and fast asleep on her fleece on the floor.

Had a lovely walk round Stowe gardens today, the autumn colours are a bit late round here but it was still beautiful in the sunshine. We were going to stop for coffee and cake but it was very busy and the queue was just too long.
While we were in Whitby we had some lovely homemade Yorkshire Tea loaf, which they serve with butter and Wensleydale cheese, it was scummy, so this afternoon after soaking the dried fruit I baked a couple of loaves, looking forward to trying them when they have cooled down.

We got home early this afternoon from a lovely weekend at Ayr Craigie club site that will be our last weekend there until March as it closes for the winter such a shame as I reckon it would get well used over the winter months. Easy 35 min tow home van now away in its space on the drive. Away again in a couple of weeks 6 nights in theLake District looking forward to that now.

Lovely day in East Norfolk so had a walk along the river to the beach

General view across to the outer harbour, plenty of activity. Ship offloading aggregate. More wind turbine towers assembled ready for shipping. 4 x Gas platform jackets (legs) and 2 x topsides awaiting recycling

Chap at the boating lake with 3 radio controlled submarines. Watched one which fully submerged etc. Detail on subs was first class

A busier than normal weekend here, as our son is away for a few days. We had a couple of calvings, which caused me some stress as I had to enter the details on the dairy computer, and change the status to “milking group”. The cows have a transponder in their ears, which recognises them as they enter the parlour. They then get the right amount of cake and the volume of milk is recorded. I struggled to do things in the right order, but with the help our son on Face Time, got it right. I think.
This afternoon I cheered myself up by watching “Sense and Sensibility “ and weeping copiously.

Helen. That made me go to the recipe books as I felt like I'd enjoy some too! Then I remembered I'd have to start making Christmas cakes for ourselves and son soon so will have to get a lot of dried fruit in to make the tea cake and the other two cakes.

What a difference a day makes! Beautiful blue skies although a cool breeze. Easy journey down to Flamborough, thanks WM, and thanks for the info on the site too. Only 1 other van on the CL so we had the choice of where to pitch up! Hope the weather I God for all that are away this week.

That’s probably Elizabeth Botham’s Brack. An absolutely scrummy light fruit loaf, enriched with Tea. It gets yummier each day ‘cos it sort of gets stickier. Wonderful indeed with cheese. You can get a Ginger Brack as well.😁
Gorgeous day here yesterday, blue skies throughout................however, woke up to first frost on Heki roof this year, it’s white over outside after a clear night. Looks magical😁 NT garden and house for us today. Winter touring is rather special, Site we are on is full, mainly MH’s, but lots of folks out enjoying themselves.
Hope you like your site Nellie, we enjoyed it there.

Same here, nice most of yesterday too, only a couple of showers.
After a day off yesterday visiting our son and family, it is back to the grindstone today. Finished emptying and draining down the van, so all set for winter now. It's next outing will be to the dealer for service in February, then we are planning on a tour starting mid March, taking in the Easter holidays, not sure where yet.
Now I am off back to the greenhouse to continue dismantling the aluminium benches, the screws holding them together are proving difficult to remove.

A glorious Autumn day here - wall to wall sunshine and a definite nip in the air.
This is our bull Odyssey closely followed by his lady friends.

A lovely day here as well, hard frost overnight everywhere white this morning. Some sheltered parts of the garden are still white.
Trip to the GPs this morning for OH, follow up from his blood tests. All's well doc happy with results, still has a niggle in his lower left front side. Ultrasound not for another 4 or 5 weeks yet, doc wasn't suprised by that. Doc had given OH some capsules to take, haven't made a diffrence so stop taking them. We now have an idea of what it isn't still no idea of what it is

Bit of shopping this afternoon after we had been to the crematorium to finalise Mums inscription, which is being added to Dad's memorial stone. All paid for but it may take some time for it to be done.
Hoping to get away on Wednesday for a few weeks in the csravan, just hope the weather behaves.

I do not think it will be flying soon it is a very rare night fighter version i think their priority is for The Lancaster (Just Jane) to fly at some time, it is some experiance if they do a taxi run from its dispersal and you are just behind it with all four merlins running at near full power

They also have an airworthy Dakota that gets its engines run up

No sun today. It suddenly feels like hibernation time. OH acting as chimney sweep, I resisted rushing out to see the brush coming out of the stack...

Our poor old dead plum tree has now been sawn up and that's about it for the day.
Visiting dog has his terrier feet under the table once more.
Meeting some friends this afternoon.
Hope your day is going well.

A fantastic day on the hills today. Up newlands to High Spy then Maiden Moor and Catbells. Excellent weather and autumn colours made it just wonderful. A privilege to see everything.
Wherenext - I put a stone on the cairn for you🙂

Great day for it. Love the photos. All I managed was to have some blood extracted and the rest of the day spent pruning back some very overgrown bushes. Brown bins now full from empty so no more gardening until after Friday. Hospital appt. tomorrow. Always something to look forward to.

Great photos and obviously good weather for the walk Corners.
Great weather here in East Norfolk, picked up new car, 🚙did lots of admin, tax affairs and so forth also booked a new for us cL in North Norfolk as Barleywood still fully booked.
Walked to the beach via shops, bit bracing due to easterly breeze but that means we may have more rarities get blown our way 🦅🦉

Not really sure to be honest, just feel the need to get away. We will head south and make it up as we go along

Would have liked to head back to Spain but we have a number of appointments set up for December that we don't want to put off.

Another bright and sunny day here, very hard frost overnight again.
Van now prepped for us to get away tomorrow, car loaded with bikes, chairs (forever hopeful) a couple of boxes of bits and pieces.
Still no plan as to where we are going just heading south.

There is a lot of England that we have not been to, so intend to wander, shame so many sites are closing for the year, in another weeks time

Suggestions welcome, no art galleries or hill walking though just not our thing. We like cycle routes, walking along sea fronts, canals, rivers. We like old towns and natural beauty spots. Quite like to visit RSPB reserves if there is anything worth seeing at this time of year.

TG. Should you find yourself in the vicinity of Bristol, I can thoroughly recommended the Bristol to Bath cycle path. It utilises the old railway line, so reasonably level and very pleasant with a couple of nice places to stop for refreshments. Carry on through Bath and it picks up the Kennet and Avon canal, along its towpath. Should you be interested, I can give more information.
Enjoy your break 👍
