We had a couple of days away near Hawes. This was Wednesday!!!🥶. Loved seeing the red squirrel. Sorry about the black lamppost I didn’t want to disturb the squirrel.

This was Thursday. What a difference a day makes! Beautiful.

    Muker.

Loved the pictures of Salts Mill @nelliethehooker. It’s on our list for a visit in April we really enjoyed our previous visit a couple of years ago and would like to see the new Hockney exhibition.

Beautiful here this morning, but we have a bit of frost as well. Replanting coming along nicely, garden looks so different to us. Not expecting things to be as lush along the border this year, but it’s good to give it a Spring clean! 🤭Excuse the pun.
Mum’s for me today, gardening up there if I get the chance as well.

Just been reading about Longships Lighthouse having a fog beep problem. Ear plugs required. Oh to be down there……😢

Well, we arranged the day around workmen being here but a phone call late yesterday afternoon changed it all as they will now be infilling the insulation next Tuesday, which is a blasted nuisance as MiL has a hospital appointment. OH will take her but parking is difficult and I normally drop them both off and then find somewhere or shop at local M&S foodhall until called. Workers wanted me to leave a key. Yeah, that's going to happen! So I'll be here whilst OH struggles with MiL.

Walked into town today. Beautiful morning. Given a lift back as the ladies were in town, with car.

Booked a 2 night break for Sunday and Monday and back in the morning on Tuesday as hospital and workmen due in the afternoon.

Cheers to @Tinwheeler for ampersand correction.

@nelliethehooker - No the work either side hasn't stopped. Very noisy today as they are cutting flag stones to size. Plus radio blaring. I prefer the noise of the cutting.😀

    @heddlo - you weren't on a Harry Grimm hunt were you?😀

    DCI Harry Grimm

Absolutely love David Gatward's books and can't wait for his next release due out soon - set in Hawes and surrounding dales and so accurate in terms of his knowledge of the area.

Weather is bright and sunny here today. Hawes is on my list of places to visit soon. However, our next outing out is York Beechwood Grange... Glad to hear that some folk are getting out and about... 👍👍

Talking of out and about - we are planning an outing on Monday. OH driving me 2 miles to Home Bargains to get more bird food, maybe pop into Aldi for some milk and bits and if all goes to plan maybe also call into Costa for a coffee. Baby steps and I’m really looking forward to it. Then maybe the day after out for a little walk. It’s beginning to feel like Covid times, just looking forward to getting out, even if it’s not much.

Bit of a change, @heddlo glad you too caught the fine weather. Grand photos and lovely to see the squirrel. Hope you get to see the Hockney exhibition, some very impressive images, but certainly not all to our taste.

Good to read that you are getting ready to head out and about, @DEBSC definitely looks as if you are on the road to recovering from your operation.

Must apologise for a miss spelling on my first post on here last night as, of course, I should have said Salt Mill, after Sir Titus Salt, who had the mill built around 1853.

It was quite misty this morning, bad enough for planes to be diverted from Leeds airport to Manchester. Thankfully it soon cleared and we had another lovely sunny day. We went to Chevin Forest Park where we had a couple of walks. After there only being 2 caravans on the site for the last 2 night the site is now full as 3 M/Hs arrived this afternoon. Another very clear sky this evening and the 4 planets were clearly visible.

@DEBSC it's good to hear you're on the way to recovery, albeit slowly. Every little step is a victory, however small, and it's amazing how seemingly insignificant things become very important. Keep up the good work!

@heddlo great pictures. Love Hawes, spent quite a bit of time there in the past, though not been for a while now. Good luck for next Monday with your appointment at the hospital.

Lovely sunny day here today, went out for a little shopping. Went to Waitrose, first time since Christmas. Was also planning to go to Aldi, but decided we did not need to.

Might see DD tomorrow, she has a mattress she wants us to store, but first we need to check what space we have.

Going to see our son and family on Sunday, we have invited ourselves for lunch.

Hiya @DEBSC . Good to hear that that you’re making progress, albeit small steps. It must be a tough time for you, both physically and emotionally, I do empathise. I wish I could offer some words of wisdom, but I ain’t the brightest. I do though wish you all the best for the future👍

@DavidKlyne , sorry to hear that Margaret has another hurdle to jump, any news?
