New Booking System

On my iPad I touch the spyglass icon on the website. A search box pops up and in it I type Scarborough and then touch Search.
Just that. Nothing else.
it instantly gives me a list of all tne CLs and Club sites in the area.
It doesn’t push me one way or the other.

Depends what you want. Do what Myself and PD have done and you get 15 results (club sites / CL’s) relatively close to Scarborough and their positions shown on a map. Your way brings up a list of 100 and no indication of where they are in relation to Scarborough without accessing each result.

not everyone has an iPad, try doing it on a computer IT DOSN'T WORK

Hey, no need to shout. People are trying to help you here.

I am not shouting, but you guys are telling me how to do it an iPad, but I have said not everyone has an iPad, & buy looking at all these 213 pages there are a lot who don't
I am now wondering if the club has designed to only work on an iPhone/iPad

"…IT DOSN'T WORK" That's shouting - check the forum guidelines.
There are various responses but, really, you need to take it up with the club by using the feedback form if the responses by fellow members aren't working for you. They are doing their best to help and not under any obligation to do so.

The screen shot is what I get on a Windows 10 Desktop.
Roughly
Book a site.
Type Scarborough UK
Click to show CL's.
Close left pane to make the map bigger.
Zoom in to see what's behind the numbered circles. Or click on the small squares to view..
Or, Zoom out and see the whole world! Or our bit of it.
Sorry, if I've misunderstood what you wanted to do. I haven't tried using the new booking system yet as we are not in a position to go away for quite some time.

If you look a few posts upthread you will find that PD says it does indeed work on a desktop computer. If you want help, you either need to give a few more details, as I have suggested several times, or as TW suggest take it up with the club on the contact form. Although they will want a bit more information than it does not work.
edit As goldie shows it works on a windows 10 desktop.

On FB today, someone got a 3 page answer to his criticism of the new app , not from Nick Lomas but from Harvey Alexander, Director of Marketing and membership services.
Needless to say he didn't answer all criticism but if you want to put things in writing then Nick Lomax is not the person to complain to, Harvey is the man.1 -
Steve, you are very patient as well as helpful. But I have come to the conclusion there are some members put there, despite all your efforts, who won’t accept help, suggestions or advice …and simply keep saying “It doesn’t work” . I’m out on this one.

Yet again the C&MC make a total hog-wash of designing and or updating a website!!
The old site was bad enough, but it was a quantum leap better than this shambolic effort.
Like so many members, I am only a member of the Club so that I can use CL sites as I have absolutely no interest, let alone deep enough pockets to ever use Club Sites!!
I will never/ever want to use the booking service, I want to see the sites I am interested in at my own pace then to contact the CL sites myself directly.
I am gutted that this once great Club has slipped so very far.

Just to be clear this was a personal letter to that member which was mentioned on an independant Facebook Group. Harvey Alexander, Director of Marketing and membership services did not reply direct on Facebook. So it seems that all Senior Club personnel will retain their radio silence as far as this or any other Social Media is concerned.

The fact that there are over 2000 posts in this thread is a clear indication of the omnishambles that is the 'new booking system'. Whilst any new implementation of IT solutions for any organisation will have a few bugs, CAMC, not surprisingly given their performance in the past, have surpassed their own appalling standards.

Thanks for clarifying this David, although not an fb member I searched CAMC fb yesterday and wondered if this had been removed. I suspect the CAMC site has been moderated as previously there were many posts regarding this subject? Nothing on twitter either so as you say "silence."
Someone mentioned payments being taken and just for the record I'll say again that direct payments are on a default and if someone wants to pay in the office on the day they must "untick" the box. It will however slow up arrival and if they don't turn up payments will still be taken automatically.
Sorry to see some are still not finding the site easy to navigate or complete with confidence. Clicking that final check out box can be a marathon!

Not a member Brue?🤔, if ever I wanted to view anything at all on FB I had to sign in using my membership details. . .Do you have a special pass?. If things have radically changed since I last used it great👍🏻

Arh, you mention windows 11, I myself and most likely a few others can't upgrade to windows 11, having a laptop a few years old, as you say you can do it, I had a couple of reply's yesterday telling me how to do it on an iPad.
I now wonder if it is designed only for iPad/iPhone and windows 11

If you are signed in to CT it's possible to view the official CAMC FB pages, not so easy on Twitter but a quick view possible before it shuts you out. I do have fb access by using my OHs membership but I don't need to do that on here.

If you look on the previous page you will see a post from Goldie showing it works OK on Windows 10.
Undoubtedly it does work better on newer machines with faster processors, it also seems fairly memory hungry. If you clear your browser cache and close down any other programmes you have running, it could improve things.1 -
Thank you, that’s a good scheme😊

I have accessed the site on WIndows 8.1 on a PC and a 2 year old ipad. In neither case have i proceeded to booking. We mainly use CLs and that aspect of the site is still seriously lacking, especially the lack of link to full details and filters. Yes, I can find sites, but very cumbersome and you need to access individual sites via the magnifying glass, so you need the Club site open on more than one tab.
