    It’s OK if they don’t add on additional travellers as I think you said happened to you lately. I’m not sure I would have noticed until they had already taken the money.

    They are caught up in their own complicated pricing policy. So many different variables, different sites, different periods, different special offers, and now they have just added differential pricing based on surface type. Nightmare. The POS machines must take some right programming. 

    We were overcharged last year on arrival at one Site. The VAT rebate hadn’t been taken into account. It got sorted of course, but it shouldn’t happen with today’s technology🤷‍♀️

    I wouldn’t have a problem with remote payments before arrival. Far easier and efficient.

    I had the same VAT rebate problem in February at Minehead cmc site. The warden was adamant that the machine worked it out so no rebate. I had to sort it out with head office who put the rebate back on my card. Maybe they pressed the wrong buttons on the machine.

    I also had a problem with the VAT rebate; worked it out on paper, took it to reception, who agreed, and manaully overrode "the system".  It wasn't so much the money involved as the principle of it.

    Thanks for the information here. I'm hoping to book for June '23 next year too. 

    Is there somewhere I can subscribe to an email update when the system is live please? I can't find a specific place to do this.

    You can check to see if you have emails selected in your communication preferences. These are to be found under my profile. The one in green at the top of the page, not the one under useful info. Unfortunately there seems to be issues with it and having emails selected is no guarantee of getting them, or that they will even send one out announcing it. Communication and the CAMC don’t sit well together.

    Essential maintenance  was happening the other morning early so did wonder if maybe  it was for the new deposits system.

    I was told 25th July was the opening date as were others on here but that came and went without any further notification.  When will the H.Q. inform the Minions of the release date ? It makes me wonder if the complexity of the proposed system is a step too far for the Club ?

    I may have forgotten but I don’t recall 25 June being announced🤷🏻‍♂️. The last update was 'no news' so book while you can without paying deposits👍🏻

    It was never "announced" but quite a few on here used that date and Site Managers I spoke to said the same and their training had used that date.

    I wouldn't worry about booking too far in advance. On my current tour I have stayed on 13 sites and I only booked 6 of them in advance in February. All the rest have been at very short notice less than a couple of days and 4 of them,THS and Aires, I just turned up.

    As an aside guess which were the most expensive? They were not the best either.

    If you are referring to my post Wedgy, apologies I thought I was replying to a post by DK in a thread about deposits. Concern was being expressed about not being able to book but in spite of using all the search methods I know, I cannot find DK's post. Is it in a hidden thread that appeared for a moment only to be hidden again?

    Maybe the 25th July was more accurate as you still cannot book post June 2023. Anyone have any idea as to when?

    The club has said that dates beyond the end of May 23 will be released when the new booking system that includes deposits goes live. The only information I have seen, provided by the club, on when this will happen is in Frequently asked questions:-

    When will deposits be introduced?

    Deposits will only apply from when the new UK booking experience is launched (sometime in 2022) and will only affect new bookings made after the launch. Up to then continue to make bookings on the existing system (which do not include deposit payments).

    I suppose until we get to December it’s no different to the old system, when at this time of year we would have been able to book to until just before Easter 2023. On frenzy day in the first week in December the rest of 2023 would have been released.

    Yet again, I read a "Hot off the press" announcement on an unofficial Caravan and Motorhome Club Members' Group that the date for the introduction of the new booking system will be 8th August.

    QUOTE from Facebook

    "Hot off the Press....
    New booking system going active August 8th.
    During the initial infancy phase contact can only be made with the Club via the App, Website and Call Centre. Site Staff will not be answering calls during this period."

    If this information is correct, how come the club aren't giving me this information first hand?  Why am I getting it off an unofficial Facebook Group?
