When is a rule not a rule?

It does seem an odd way of deciding policy. Of course problems experienced by site staff should not be ignored but one would have thought that as a service driven organisation the Club have a duty to explain why there has been a change of policy. We all know that on some sites there is a real problem of congestion if there is not a gap between departures and arrivals. However this is not the case on the majority of sites. At the very least I would expect the Club to inform its members for the reason for the change, is that really too much to ask?

DK, I've seen my profile name is getting mixed with Blue...no matter and yes CAMC could be more forthcoming with explanations as they have a paid up membership represented by committees drawn from the same.
On a personal level it doesn't matter too much, I don't spend time observing arrivals and I've always thought that site managers have some discretion. However CAMC could reduce angst over this by insisting early arrivals have to wait till 1pm as the C&CC do.

How would we know🤷🏻♂️, has anyone actually met a person who’s paid the extra £10 for not being a member🤔

A non member booking in at a site I arrived at was informed that after four nights that additional charge would just about cover membership. The warden then proceeded to join them on the spot. No brainer really if wishing to stay on a site or other sites for more than four nights per year.

My understanding was that the change from 12 to 1300 hrs admittance was because or COVID and to allow the wardens time to sanitise key fobs, barrier cards etc. Now the COVID regulations are gone, the club should return to a policy of 12 out, 12 in, except for sites with potential traffic issues

A uniform time across the network has got to be a good idea. Unless you want to impose out by 11am at sites with traffic issues, it has to be 1pm. For those with caravans I can appreciate they would prefer 12, due to the generally longer setting up times and difficulty stopping on route. Now with a MH I don’t find it an issue, even on short hops.

While the regulations have been lifted COVID has NOT gone away! Like many hospitality organisation my guess is the site managers are still doing a lot of extra cleaning/sanitising which will be with us for sometime. Personally I do not mind the arrival time being 1p.m. because it is very rare for me to arrive much before then. Locally I use CL sites, use of a Club site is likely to be some distance away requiring long travel times.

What they are based on is clearly stated DD, even the 50% mid week discount in this case. I personally think they should include for two adults but otherwise they are industry standard. Or do other providers show the maximum prices, including the unforeseen add ons. I suspect not.

I've experienced the same as Micky. Non-members quickly become members I think.
Btw, the difference is now £13 p/n.

Do you know for a fact that site staff no longer carry out the enhanced cleaning regime?

I'd say there's no question of dishonesty in view of the explanation shown. It's clearly a marketing ploy and no more than that.

A interesting way of looking at it, but incorrect in my view.
You mean the club is giving a penalty or some sort of a punishment for not being a member?
I get money off products each week at Sainbury's for having their app and a nectar card, so in your view is that Sainbury's giving a penalty to those that do not have these?
Penalty: a disadvantage suffered as the result of an action or situationThat's the way I look at the reduced price as an advantage for being a member, and I can honestly say being a member hasn't cost me a penny.

No.
The club sells exactly like Sainbury's, if have a (membership) card you get cheaper prices, that simple really.
In fact it's better than Sainburys, as with the club card you get reduced prices on all of its sites, unlike the nectar card which only gives you reduced prices on selected and indeed different prices each week. And of course you can quite easily not pay a penny for that reduced price, or membership, all the time.
But if you find this 'penalty' such a burden why do you pay it? To get a cheaper price perhaps when you stay on club sites, which you do of course? Or to get the advantages of CLs... Doesn't matter what it is you pay the membership fee as there is an advantage to you, not a penalty.

I reckon at least 80% of non members who stay on club sites join up, and the majority of them keep using our sites. Strange concept to some I know

Where did you get the temporary from?
The end of the day the reasoning is sort of immaterial, the club have decided on a 13.00 earliest arrival time, that's it.

Firstly I can't recall anything about it being temporary and for that matter covid is still with us.
What you want or why it has been done is immaterial, it has been done and unlikely to change back.
As to being happy for paying for 23 hour, what about those that arrive at 2pm or after work later in the evening should they now pay less? What about when people leave before 12? It is not for however long one stays on a site per hour the price is really for the overnight stay.
If you want to think in your terms, the price was once for a max of 24 hours, now it is for a max of 23 hours. All you have to decide if you're happy to pay that? If you're not then what are your options?

I want to revert to 12pm entry, as before as this was a temporary change to allow extra Covid cleaning, no longer required.
According to the UK government there were 102,089 people who tested positive in the last 7 days, up 69% on the previous 7 days. A fair few when you consider there are less tests being done than previously. Covid hasn’t gone away!

you say…. That’s it…. Thereby lies the problem, the management have made a decision that affects all of us to no benefit of any of us. Why should we as customers have to put up with this attitude. In correspondence with the club they state it is for the benefit of the wardens, as I have said in previous posts this is not acceptable. What happens if the wardens decide that its more convenient for them if arrivals were say 6 pm!?
I do have a choice and over the past few years I always check out and use private sites, I find them just as nice, certainly no more expensive and they normally have more service pitches, which being disabled makes caravaning so much easier.0
