     Morning

Just FYI Cyber. If a member hasn't arrived at site or made contact their booking is rolled over to the next days arrivals. The next morning, if the said member isn't in the LNA (if the site has one) and still hasn't made contact then their booking is no showed. On sites with no LNA, if no contact etc the booking can be no showed after the eight pm cut off, so only one night is lost. It has been known in the past in the height of summer to let out a no show pitch at 8.30 pm to an off roader (my discretion).

On my site this season (174 days) we averaged 68% occupancy and had 4 no shows, 2 of those were non members. No idea how many late cancellations 'cos I've never been bored enough to count them (we do have the info but not the figures)

The system will settle down when people get used to it. The other club have been operating a similar and successful system  for a number of years. What might happen, as with the other club, is that marketing tools eg discounts, will be introduced to increase take up. Under the present CAMC system and without deposits this would probably increase speculative bookings! It's quite obvious from the huge amount of late cancellations with CAMC that easy non deposit bookings have become a habit for some and are not improving finances generally.

The "huge?" amounts of late cancellations ? When spread over a year and the 190+site this club? has from the huge  amount of bookings taken  over the same period is not many  surprised

But it isn't a year JVB, you could only use that analogy if sites were open every day of the year, but they're not. So it's relative to the actual days available and it adds up to a lot more than some realise.

A bit disappointed that we can no longer amend a booking but would have to cancel and rebook or make a separate booking pity this could not be done over the phone so we don't lose our booking ? but we like the idea of being able to book a hardstanding as we normally book a serviced pitch

Also if you take away the number of affiliated sites, the number of Club operated sites is closer to 150.

That as posted could throw up another problem? It is said to amend a booking you need to cancel and then rebook?

If as in recent posts just on here , quite a few had been trying to fill odd days for their bookings ,by some one trying to amend a booking ,,,  those looking, could well as happens,  taken. some of your previous booking  undecided

Does this mean that if you amend a booking to change your car registration or change the number of people in a van you would have to cancel and rebook and if inside 21 days lose your deposit.

Do we know it's not possible to amend bookings? I thought the detail of that and other aspects was yet to be released. 🤷‍♂️

Yes. Even if it is not exact you are misleading readers by the inclusion of the affiliated sites in your figure which to be exact is 198 sites.

I can't be bothered to add up the affiliated sites but it sure isn't more than a handful or two and nothing like 48😄

If you read the FAQs it says:

Will I be able to amend and cancel my bookings online?
Yes, you will be able to amend and cancel bookings online. Simply enter the 'manage my booking' area on the website or in the app

Niether could I, I based my figure on when you used to be able to filter out the affiliated sites easily. At the time I last checked the Club operated 155 sites. With closures and additions it cannot have change much since.

Excellent idea if you don’t mind worrying if you will be sent/called home with a few days notice or wondering how you can pay for self isolation in a Govt appointed hotel or stuck in queues a mile long trying to get the last ferry/train home. Each option has its issues, to say different is disingenuous in the least🤷🏻‍♂️

On >this page,< in the small print at the bottom, it says the Club owns 160 sites? Therefore  there must be 38 affiliated sites to give the total of 198 mentioned in larger print at the top..

     Afternoon

Does anyone know the origin of that old phrase "splitting hairs"?undecided

So, making, amending, cancelling bookings etc will be very easy to do, changing dates, sites all that will be very straightforward.

The new t's & c's also won't be in great volumes as someone has mentionedundecided

Than you KjN I suspect what the Club means when it says "owns" sites is it controls the price and booking conditions.  Whether they are actually owned, leased or managed is transparent to the user on the latest incarnation of the web site..
