Up on Ilkley Moor today and, yes, I was hatless. Great day for it. Mrs WN decided I needed a lot more hair (and muscles) to do a Heathcliff but she appreciated the thought.

Walked up to the Apostles stone circle (guess how many of them there were?) Then explored a few of the smaller tracks to get our bearings for future visits. It is still February isn't it?

    Fingers still crossed for B2.

JVB66 - Don't over do things. Take it easy and you'll soon be back in the caravan.

Tricky Auto - 🐭😮. We unfortunately found evidence of a mouse in the bed box under the sofa in the van. It was only one winter but ended in a major cleaning session and brand new bedding being bought. We no longer have that van or store it in the same place. Hope all is well for you now. When is your next trip?

NTH- we really hope you enjoy New Willow Cottage. It's a stunning CL and so pretty with the small lake. We left a review if you haven't already seen it. If you want any more info about the area, just ask.

Bakers 2 - Thinking of you both very much and hoping your OH's recovery is going to plan. Take care of yourself too.

Triky: we found evidence of mice when we had a motorhome some years ago. They had made a nest for themselves in a drawer where the tea towels and dusters were kept. We had to give the van a big clean out and replace some soft furnishings. We then kept a couple of mouse traps in there after that. I don't like the things but needs must sometimes. Our present caravan is in a different storage facility.

Bakers2: I hope you have had a reassuring visit to your OH today.

We had a lovely sunny day, although the wind was still a bit cool early on. We drove over to Redcar and Flyte had a great run on the beach for about an hour. After lunch we continued onto Marske, where the map showed a public toilet at the beach front car park. There certainly was one but it was all locked up.yell Don't the council think that members of the public want a loo in the winter?  As the tide was still out we did another couple of miles or so down on the sands. Flyte has run so much that he is limping a little now.

We had an interesting day yesterday.  We went with a U3A group to Collyweston Church.  It is a lovely church but the most interesting thing is that Lady Margaret Beaufort lived in the Palace there. All traces have now disappeared unfortunately.  What a woman she was.  She was married, widowed, married and widowed again and pregnant by the age of 13.  She was the mother of Henry VII.  She outlived 4 husbands and her son. We should have had a pleasant journey over there in the sunshine but unfortunately as a result of an accident on the A1 the northbound carriageway was closed which jammed up all the surrounding roads leading to Collyweston which meant that the majority of the group were over an hour late getting there.  However the people in the church were wonderful and delayed both the talk and the tea. We have no further news of the accident and just hope that there were no fatalities or serious injuries.

Lovely sunny day here, really quite warm.  Didn’t put shorts on as I had a hospital checkup.  Unfortunately I’m going to have to have another lump removed from my head.

After the hospital walked to the beach and stopped at a beach side barfor a beer, really hit the spot🍺

At last I've got to use my Birthday present - a new garden bench on a newly cleared bit of wilderness (all done while I was out).

It's warm and sunny, and the bench is in the perfect spot to relax and read, while keeping an eye on comings and goings. And plan in my head what to do with the rest of the wilderness (garden really).

Sounds a very interesting day Millie, one I would have enjoyed. MB was quite a woman, although I have never warmed to her. Very driven, and almost Machiavellian in her efforts to see her son on the throne. I think she hugely influenced a lot of the Tudors and their court after her death. Why Richard III never locked her up before Bosworth I find hard to believe. Sorry to hear about the accident.

I must admit I stand with Ttda on this one.

Had an easy drive home over the Pennines today. Back home for lunch, clear the caravan and car out then go to pick my prescription and library books that were waiting for me.

We were all set to sort out where we would spend our Ruby wedding anniversary. It was to have been in Spain but MiLs problems intruded so we wenf to Plan B. However we arrived home to find that hef Brain Scan is scheduled for the very day! So we'll be ferrying MiL to hospital. You've got to laugh about the way Life likes to throw a wobbly at you, providing it's not life threatening of course.

Really enjoyed our break even if the car brakes nearly failed (but didn't, see comments above). Great meeting up with Nellie and Mrs.NTH again and we had some decent and some indecent weather to boot.

Well Wherenext, hope you can go to Plan C and find something nice to do for your Ruby Anniversary!

Glad you enjoyed your break. I've just had to cancel one planned for early March, me and the dog aren't quite up to it. Now hoping the planned short trip in April might work out. smile

Ah, what we do without alternative plans, Brue.

I'm pretty sure that our anniversary will still fall on the same day. MiL distraught (not sure if she's still sulking about the marriage or just lady lucks choice of medical dateslaughing). Told her she can buy us a nice dinner the day before, just in case the scan goes awry. We'll allow her to accompany us, with her credit card.smile

Good luck with your Plan B or is it C?

Your trip sounded grand, millie, regardless of the delay to some of your members. That could well be a church for us to visit on our way back from Norfolk. Just have to find a CL to suit, as a change from Fineshades.

Glad that you got back home safe and sound WN. I'm glad that you've left the good weather behind for us. After the fun we had last week we'll have to do the same again sometime in the future.

Hope that you are able to get a trip sorted soon brue.

Thanks for all your good wishes thoughts and prayers, please keep it up. He's making very small steps, and is suffering weakness on his left side, awaiting CT scan. Still in ITU hardly with us. Not spoken to his consultant, too busy yesterday not in today, but they did a triple not quadruple bypass didn't do anything re DVT/blockage. It was lovely son was here yesterday, I scraped his car before 6am this morning! (Cyclist came down the road in shorts and tshirt 😱❄🌬 ) He was/is a physio by trade so understand lots - he used to run the cardio classes!

Feeling very drained very glad of good friends and you folks on here. Sorry not to pick up on points but enjoy the light relief in reading them.

Oh  dearie  me no  David surprised  !!  That  sort  of  "sample"  will  not  be  required  'til  M O T Time  in  April  wink.

In  fact  I  got  in  enough  trouble  when  I  popped  in  to  see  Aged  Sister  -->  darn  nearly  got  banned  for  life  !!  I'd  been  warned  off  giving  her  moggie  any  edible  treats  so  I got  him  a  couple  of  Catnip  toys  one  of  which  was ( and  I  mean  WAS  !! )  a  6 inch  long fish.  I  had  to  get  her  lightweight  powered  vacuum  cleaner  out  'cos  the  fish  had  been  totally  gutted  and  only  the  head  &  one  fin  of  the  tail  had  any  catnip  left,  although  the  living  room  carpet,  professionally  cleaned  only  last  week,  had  a  strange  covering  of  a  greyish  straw-like  nature  all  over  it embarassed.  At  least  Alfie  had  been  having  fun  smile

Bakers2, thank you for the  update. I hope you manage to see the consultant very soon so that you can have a discussion about what they did/didn't do and why. Hopefully you will see a big improvement in your OH in the next few days. Thoughts and prayers still with you all. Your son must be a big help and comfort to you. It sounds as though he will be a big help with your OH's recuperation.

WN, I hope you and your OH have a lovely Ruby celebration and that all goes well for your MIL.

OP, sorry to hear you have to have another lump removed. I hope you get an appointment soon. Best wishes.

Took the MH for a run down to West Hayling yesterday to blow the cobwebs out. Beautiful day and a walk along the sand towards the Winner. Disappointing to see a "No motorhomes overnight" sign. The local council seem to be missing a trick as they could probably get a fiver a night, even if they made a 8pm to 8am criteria for the charge rather than the hourly daytime charge.

Like CY we intended to take our van out for a day trip but a strange smell has been tracked to the leisure battery and we now realise it needs replacing so the van is grounded till that's sorted.

ABM we have catnip toys for our cat who just likes to wrestle with them but our visiting terrier likes to dismantle them if he can get hold of one, I'm forever picking bits up from the floor!

Best wishes Oneputt, hope the appointment comes up soon.

Also B2, hope seeing the consultant will be helpful and improvements start to happen.

Sorry to hear that you've to go and have another lump removed, OP. Hope that you get an appointment soon and it doesn't mean that you will miss your trips away.

Brue, at least you know where the strange smell came from and are able to rectify the issue. It could have been a lot worse if you'd not smelt it and the battery gave up the ghost when you were away in your M/H.

Hope that your OH continues to improve, B2, and that you get reassuring words from the consultant. It's good that you have your son there with you. Best wishes to you both.

Another bright sunny day, although there is a cool wind. Walked from the site along the Tees Path downstream as far as Teesaurous Park at Middlesbrough and back. Out for nearly 3 hrs. Off to Asda shortly for a few bits before we move down to Whitby tomorrow.

Just nipped indoors for a quick coffee.

I can't believe it. I've just mowed the lawn in mid February. One and a half brown bins full of grass cuttings and the odd dead bunch of flowers. You normally can't even walk on the grass until near the end of March.

Mrs WN has had all of our washing out, dried and ironed. I think Nellie is being a bad influence on us, although I haven't cleaned the car yet. Next job.

Nice to hear from you B2. Let me know when I can uncross my fingers will you as it's getting a bit difficult now.

Good luck with the Op OP.
