I don't think it's possible to delete your current card, rodgill.

I've tried and it appears you can only change to another card as you say, your details will still be held by Pump-King, aka Essocard, aka Wex, aka anyone elseundecided

I'm assuming the fuel card number dosn't get put into your account until you first use the card?

I put £88 in my tank and got £3.50 rebate. i payed £1-23.per ltr, the supermarkets around here chaarge £1-28, theres been discussions on this and other forums about supermarkets having additives added or not, the way i see it is im in a win win situation having branded fuel cheaper

Just had my Esso Card come.  Tried to use it for the first time at our local Esso garage and the card wouldnt accept the pin.  I'll try it at another location before I start looking into it....  Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem?

Quite a few over the past 77 pages David.undecided

Some had a pin number on their account prior to receiving their cards, which changed when the card arrived, me included. I haven't used mine yet.

However, some have used the initial pin number, with success, but only if you can recall this number?

Out of curiosity, I presume you will now be paying the full price for your purchase?

You can't delete your card, you can only replace it with another VALID one. Just ring your bank, tell them what is going on. They will kill the card for you and send you a replacement that Pump King can't touch.

I have to say, I haven't read all the posts in the thread, so could very well have missed the posts you mention.  I did have to pay the full price, but I didn't put that much in and it wasn't wildly different to our local supermarket price, fortunately.  I just wanted to test it out....... that failed!!

    Thanks for the reply, David.

Not much of a saving then?😉

If you had an old pin, if you can remember it, of course, you could try that?

Wish you luck getting a response from Pump King on the error, judging by what others have stated🤔undecided

You are charged the normal rate at the pump but the amount debited from your card is at the discount rate.

Just checked the actual card and it is orange and has "Esso" on the top right and "Wex" on the top left.   No mention of Pump King?

Up to about two weeks ago at the bottom of the text it had "My Esso Card".  Now nothing on the actual text to say who sent the text?  However according to my phone some texts come from Pump King and others from "MyEssocard" with the latest text from MyEssocard!  Very confusing!

It would be nice to get a comparison, but i dont have my card, i applied on 7 December and its now 4 February and still no sign, whats more, i cannot get onto the myessocard website, it doesnt respond, is this real or is the whole thing a scam? I do however get weekly texts telling me fuel prices, not much good without a card!

Signed up for this back in December and still no card!!!

I keep receiving the texts telling me how much I will save, but I can't do that if I don't have a card.

The club advised me to send an email, rather than phone and I have had no reply thus far.

    Not that impressed.

Still no card since applying in November - and I'm one of the few who got a telephone call from them!

Has anyone reported this to any of the financial authorities?

why would you report to the financial authorities, Pumpking or whoever is running the show would provide evidence from i am sure thousands of users, that the card is working successfully, and realistically, if you have ever used your card online, at a petrol station, over the telephone, at a supermarket, your details are out there, and the only way to fix this is cancel at the bank get new card and put in the vault.

Yes the club has screwed up big time on this, perhaps the only way forward for those who still do not have a working card, is to reapply, i think the link in the original post by the club is still working.

I believe David's issue is that his pin didn't work for him, so no discount at all!😩

yup appreciate that and that is why i suggested

could be a way forward if you really think this card is something you would like to have. I only suggest this because it is possible that Pumpking have been undated with customer service queries of one type or another and have possibly binned a whole load in the hope that people will do either as i have suggested or will decide that the card is not for them.

Put fuel in last Wednesday and still no hint of the amount being debited from our account?  As the weeks go by service seems to get worse?

As the fuel card is basically a fuel credit card you can raise the issue with the Financial Ombudsman, but can you prove a loss?  I think the only thing that can be proved is poor management with no back up service.

from my experience, and i have used card 3 times, it takes 4/5 working days for money to be debited from your account, but you should have had email to confirm the transaction and you can view on line

how does one activate the card, I have the pin and I have just been for fuel but it was refused as the card is not activated, I can't find any where on my account page to activate the card,  help please I did try phoning the club but they couldn't help me do this, I would like to use it as we only have a esso garage nearby no supermarkets.

My card worked without any need to activate it. Maybe it is Pumpking who have not enabled the card before sending it.. Perhaps you should ring or email them. It still doesn't appear to be a straightforward process dealing with this fuel card.

Previously the shortest time has been 6 days.  We have been using it since the beginning of December and have only had one email from them regarding a transaction.

The other email was a threatening email because they tried to double dip and there were insufficient funds.  I was told debt collectors etc would be contacting me.  Not a pleasant email considering Pump King was at fault!

So what actually happened with this offer? I filled out all the information required back last year when this was announced, still have not got my card!!  i contacted both CC and Esso card about this and the first application was lost due to a server crashing, and now they tell me they are still waiting for the cards to be printed...What a waste of time this was!!

you don't have to give your mileage, it's for when it's a company card and the employer does mileage checks on their vehicles. just refuse to give like I do.

even though my card has worked from day one, I have to say the performance/customer service has been terrible, but even though i had a card that worked and had used they sent me a second card with a different serial number but no pin, put it in box 13 for a rainy day.
