I'm having the same problem, I have a card and have used it once on 25 January.  I expected an email to confirm the cost but so far nothing.  The website myessocard.com simply does not open.

I emailed accounts@myessocard.com but all I've had is an automated response.

Nothing has left my bank so maybe the fuel is free

Story so far! Ordered a card on 1st December, it did not arrive. Contacted the company and they were answering the phones then and was told they had be swamped with applications and there was a delay. Fair enough I thought, waited a week and contacted them again, got through and was told to email as I would then get a response! Nothing! Contacted the Club through their Facebook page and was told that there had been a massive response, so I must wait! Then told by the Club that they were sending a new card as the other one had not arrived (still waiting!). Contacted the club again and was told I must wait up to 10 working days for delivery, that expires tomorrow. Then we read that they had 90,000 applications and now everyone is getting a new updated card! It would have been nice to have received the first one! I reckon that if I do get a card I will probably have to wait until all the newer ones have been delivered.

Oh, in the mean time the name on the website has changed and the T&Cs have been changed.

If I want to cancel this non existant card who would I contact as they don't answer phones or emails, so I have no doubt they will not even look at letters!

And lastly, I have considered cancelling my subscription to the club, but that would mean cutting my nose off to spite my face (and my face really needs my nose!)

A question to any CMC staff whom I’m sure must be monitoring these posts.

Given that Pump King ignore virtually all attempts at contact by individuals, can the resources and position of the CMC be used to contact Pump King to secure, on behalf of those of us who have provided our bank details, a commitment to cancel our agreements and delete our bank account details?

Obviously individuals would have to opt into such arrangements, but I don’t want anything further to do with this scheme ever again, but I’m nervous that they hold my debit card details.

I think as mentioned  in earlier posts pump king have been "over welmed" with the response to the "offer?"from the various organisations it has been promoted via, but it seems have not responded by employing more staff to cope

not number 1, Definitely number 2 and partially number 3.

Of course the offer would be oversubscribed because of the way it was advertised.

i.e. Sign up for free and you could save x number of pence per litre at Esso garages. Even if locally you don't make those savings, if any at all, it would be a handy card just to have in your wallet when you're touring even if you never use it. Also it has the Esso name associated with it which gives it some validity although as we have found out it has nothing to do with the Esso company at all.

There would have been an estimation of the number of sign ups they would have got and the club should have ensured Pump King could meet that initial demand. Ultimately both brands have suffered reputational damage because of it. I'll be wary if I see an offer for mybpcard and myshellcard in the future.

Still can't believe it is still being advertised as My Esso Card though. Way too similar to Essocard.com which is esso's official fuel card.

I would suggest that you could order a replacement debit card from your bank, which should ensure that your registered card would not be able to be used by anyone else, as it would come with a different 16 digit number?

Obviously, the best way is to cancel via Pump-King's email system but, as has been stated by many, that isn't going to happen anytime soonundecided

Anyone else having problems with this offer?  We applied at the beginning of December, got an email on 24th December saying our account had been activated and we would received our card in the next 7-10 days, but still waiting.  Emails just elicit the standard "someone will get back to you" reply (no-one does!) and telephone calls just go through to an answerphone.  Has anyone actually received one of these elusive cards??

    Hi everyone,

Currently Club staff in the Contact Centre are following up with My Esso Card regarding any queries and complaints that have come into us via phone, email or social media, and contacting them daily with all outstanding issues to get these resolved as quickly as possible.

If you have any issues that are not answered by the FAQs, we can pass on your details to our team. We will need to confirm your Membership number and the email address you registered with, and as we're not able to take these details via Club Together as it is a public forum, please either give us a call on 01342 318813, email memberenquiries@camc.com or through Facebook or Twitter if you prefer

    Many thanks

They ask for the mileage and registration when paying at a service station, but when you log onto the website none of this is present so you need a paper slip anyway if you keep records?

My experience with the Esso card has been exasperating.  I ordered the card and it finally arrived and now it does not work as the pin number is incorrect.  Trying to call or email is impossible as NOBODY can help and emails go un-answered.  Be warned this is not a pleasant money saving experience!

RF, who could forget the vacuum wipers, almost as memorable as the CC Myessocard offer!

I think CY's old MkII Consul would have them too. Vacuum wipers that is, not memories of myessocard!wink

MM decimalization day was 15th Feb 1971.

although they ask for milage you dont have to give it, i always give a registration but think this is also optional, would you get anything in paper or online re milage/registration if you paid by debit card ?undecided I think this sort of info is only given/ required if it is a fleet vehicle

if you click on the order ref it gives you date time you put diesel in, price per ltr, number of ltrs and price, and you can put this info in a pdf file and print, looks fairly comprehensive to me laughing

My old Consul did indeed have the vacuum wipers. Made overtaking lorries uphill in the rain interesting.

A pity myessocard wasn't available then. Who knows, Esso at 5d to 8d a gallon cheaper might have made those wipers whizz across the windscreen!winksmile

    From the FAQs

    Q: Are there any fees?

A: There is no sign up fee, no transaction fee, no processing fee and no minimum spend.

I suggest this needs to be rewritten if PK are charging people who take less than 15 litres - their Ts&Cs suggest a £1 charge.  As currently written it doesn't feel a full and open answer.

What is the point if you don't have the mileage?  If they have the other details why not the mileage, but then it seems in your opinion they can do no wrong?

yup, as i have said previously, my card has worked since day one and i calculate that i have saved £13 in just over a month.

Do you get the mileage, if you pay by debit card, of course not, not that i use it much, but is there not something in your car that gives you mileage?. Did notice in the press today that Tesco are offering 5pence off per ltr, but you have to spend £50 in store and it is only valid until 10th Feb, non of the Tesco stores within 3 miles of me have petrol stations, but i do have 2 Esso stations within 2 miles, brilliant.laughing

    I am impressed as got a prompt reply to a query I raised with the CC using email.  Regarding the T&Cs they have stated the following;

Thank you for contacting the Club regarding the My Esso Card.

The Terms and Conditions that were in place when you signed up for the offer still apply. When the original webpage was taken down for upgrades it was replaced by https://pump-king.co.uk/welcome. The new Terms and Conditions showing on this page are not applicable to the My Esso offer, and the Pump King team are working on updating this to the original Terms and Conditions.

Hope this clarifies for those that already have the card under the old T&Cs

I applied for an Esso Card two months ago and still haven't received it. Every week I get a text message quoting the price for next week, the last three texts have added that the backlog of orders has now been cleared.

I have attempted phoning on many occasions, but the line is eternally engaged. I have emailed them three times and get an instant reply, saying that they will get back to me ASAP. So far nothing has happened.

I now read that the price quoted in the text does not include VAT, which makes the fuel more expensive than the pump price. So I now wonder if It is just better to forget about it.

Has anyone worked out how to get their PIN, if the one on the pump-king website doesn't work? Before I got the card it had one PIN on there, and shortly after my card was delivered the PIN on their website changed. Tried the card for the first time this morning, but failed as the PIN code currently on my account isn't right! Hind-sight says I should have kept a record of the previous PIN code!

I could try to contact Pump-King, but that seems a bit pointless at the moment!

Seems the only way of making progress is to ask a club official to pursue the issue on your behalf directly with Pump King. Posting stuff on here won’t get you very far, but might make you feel better!

Out of interest has anyone raised the issue on the fb pages? The club still promotes this in adverts on fb. They respond far swifter and more often than here. Just a thought 😉

I agree it is much better offer than the previous Shell card. A disadvantage point is, you only can use it with your debit card account and unfortunately can not be used with an credit card account.
