How's your footy team doing?

Yes, a point apiece was fair enough, although from what I read, our on loan goalie saved the day for us. 3 clean sheets in a row now. Still not 100% convinced that the board didn't rush into appointing Graham Coughlan off the back of a couple of very much overdue improved performances but he seems an honest enough guy so he deserves the chance. We still have some really tough fixtures ahead though and need to start turning these draws into wins if we're to survive. That must be the priority rather than the (yes, really) "checkatrade" trophy.

Newport got their comeuppance at Gresty Road this w/end -- they might have dumped some midtable Premier divn team out of the F.A. Cup but that did little to bolster their performance against the Mighty Alex

Beware the Terriers on Sunday Pliers. It's unlikely but we could have a bit of new manager bounce . On a more serious note I'm gutted that David Wagner has decided to take a break from football.
I'm absolutely sure that the final straw was the awful refereeing decision at Cardiff on Saturday. We've had so many bad decisions go against us so far this season that it's no surprise that he thought enough is enough.
He leaves with the very best wishes of Town supporters for the best three years I can remember in over 60 years of watching my team.

Not very often that all 3 of your local teams win Brian?! (what odds at the bookies eh?)
On a more serious note, Stanley suffered another defeat and are now at the wrong end of the table. Maybe promotion was a step too far the countries' smallest league club?

Enjoyed the game today. Thought Town played well, just need a striker and a bit of luck.
And what a splendid rendition of the "Empty seats" song from our fans. No one does self mocking as well as City fans, come to think of it, no other set of fans do self mocking at all.....or do they?

Only a small chance of bookies offering better odds on your suggestion than on the Sun rising in the South West, JR But please remember what young Rog regularly says :-- Keep The Faith !!
One thing spoils the result tho' David Artell, Crewe's Manager MUST learn to control himself -- Four ( 4 ) bookings already this season, two more & Elton John will be asking who his publicity man is and has he a vacancy !!

Thanks for the kind words Pliers. I agree I thought we played ok. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the team sheet but he'd obviously gone for pace up front .
I know City didn't even get out of second gear but the first goal was a "wicked" deflection and the second goal was just offside, so if we had a good striker we could have run you close.
I enjoyed that bit of play when we had some good possession and every pass was cheered. We have to find something to cheer🤗
It looks like we've raided Dortmund's coaching staff again rumour has it that we're appointing Jan Sievert this afternoon

I wonder if Pep will put out a decent side against Burton tonight? Respect to Burton, but I hope he sends out his kids team (who are probably good enough to hang on to a 9-0 lead) with just a handful of his 'superstars?' Burton to win on penalties anyone? 😀

I watched the game last night and it seemed to be half and half. Aguero, Mahrez and De Bruyne plus Delph and Danilo with a few very talented youngsters thrown in.
I agree respect to Burton I thought they played really well.
Our lot have gone off to Portugal today with the new head coach and his new assistant. Let's hope history repeats itself, when they got back from their last jolly they got one of their two wins, at Molineux

Accy Stanley on TV today at 12.30 in their FA cup home tie vs Derby County (who?)
Apparently they have a manager who used to play for Chelsea and England (never heard of him )
So, I'll be glued to the box at 12.30, or rather I won't because it's being screened by BT Sport

Well at least you kept up with them in one aspect of the game, JR and they only scored when you were reduced to 10 !!
As far as BT Sport goes I'm getting a bit ratty now-- so much sport has been removed from "Free to Air Transmission" so they can chase the mighty Dollar / pound / etcetera. Slowly they will realise that they are losing many many followers and that means they are not so attractive to the next generations of players.
Edit :-- its not just BT I know but thats the one you mentioned

The Mighty ALEX struck again -- yet another side from the upper reaches ( OK, OK of the Fourth Tier } Came, Saw and Were Conquered. The Gresty Road Demons struck again !! There really must have been something Special in their Christmas Stockings this year, 'cos it's lasting well. { Hope it makes it to Easter & beyond }
