I am in tears, have now got home after a superb week in the Chilterns at a CL. I no longer have the rolling hills to look at nor the kites wheeling overhead, blue skies above, or warmth during the day, woodland walks and a nice cosy caravan at night. Can't wait to get back there next year.

Good to see another mini meet happened, and that both you, millie,  and H&T had a pleasant afternoon & a good chat.

Glad that you had a good time at Cirencester M and managed to get some decent walks in.

Pleased to hear that you had a good time on a CL in the Chilterns, Redface. If you don't mind me asking which one was it you were stopping on?

Not such a good day today weather wise, but we did manage a walk along part of The Granite Trail although we did get caught in a drizzly shower on the way back to the car.

I've been back a fortnight and suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Too much on my plate at the moment to be able to get away for a while yet though.

Nice to hear of the get together Helen and Millie. Hope you're all enjoying your various breaks and for those like me and others at home it's  a nice time of the year to be doing things locally. Ha Ha ...I missed my trip to the Syd Lawrence Orchestra last night, I thought the coughing might not go down well. OH went in my place and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely morning here, just watching the big plough going round the field, I'm guessing the winter wheat is going in soon, ready for next year. smile

Unbelievable!!!  Had a phone call just as we were about to leave for the hospital postponing my knee operation until Friday morning.  Someone forgot to order a non-nickel prosthesis!  You just couldn't make it up!!!

I'll now be spending the rest of the day finding organists to cover more services!  ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Oh David how frustrating ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค. I thought about you as I turned on the kettle at 7am. What popped into my mind was "I wonder how you were and that it was going ahead"  I do hope I didn't jinx it ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Sadly these things happen my out patients appointment was bought forward from 2.30pm to 1040am last Friday- I was able to get there ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. I discovered the reason for change was due to an emergency foot amputation, 35 year old with diabetes, that terrible disease, my inconvenience was minor.

Beautiful morning here but very chilly breeze, but wonderful behind glass.

Glad milliehull and HelenandTrevor had a good meet.

    Enjoy your day folks

DSB, sorry to hear that, how frustrating good luck for Friday.

Nice sunny day again but one heck of a gale blowing, it started during the night and is getting stronger, gusts of 60 kph forecast until early Wednesday morning. Guess we won't be moving down the coast for a few days yet. Probably sounds worse as we are under high trees, bits keep falling on the vanfrown free standing satellite dish is fastened down well but its still knocked off the signal. All those with roof mounted ones have dropped them, wise folk. The sun canopy we bought is standing up well to it, really impressed. It seems to flex and give so doesn't flap but think we will still take it down as I don't want to go out and leave it up just in case.

Brue, hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to here your op has been delayed. I think I would find the postponement more stressful than the actual operation!!! Fingers crossed for Friday.

Had a very invigorating walk in a stiff North Westerly blowing in off the North Sea today. Walked from Wells to Blakeney. Certainly blew away any cobwebs we had. Lovely hearing the Curlews calling and seeing skeins of Pink Foot Geese flying in from Europe. I love the noise they make as they're flying. Reminds me Autumn is well and truly underway.

Thanks for your message Millie. We've not heard anything today so are working on the basis that no news is good news.

Enjoy Stamford Helen. When do you move on Nellie?

We only have one neighbour who arrived today. Their electrics aren't working, or their battery or their torch. We lent them a spare cable we carry just in case it was that but it isn't. Now lent them a torch and investigated their fuse box but it's above my pay grade. Feel for them.

How long you staying in Norfolk WN?

Went for a mooch around Celle this morning, for those that havenโ€™t been it's a lovely town.  The centre is full of 15/16th century houses all lovingly renovated.  In fact there are 6 guys on our site currently renovating one.  On the way back to the site we found the town windmill, Iโ€™ve been here dozens of times and didnโ€™t even know it existed.  Had a walk on Banettze moor, spotted a Black Squirrel.  Back to van where I cooked dinner, Thai green chicken curry, a triumph even though I say it myself, amazing what the Thaiโ€™s can put in a packet๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜‚

All the best David for the rearranged operation enjoy your chocs and prosecco

That sounds like a really good day Helen. Enjoy your stay at Top Lodge. The weather looks to be  good for the next few days.

I met up up with ex colleagues/friends for our monthly coffee get together this morning and then went with OH for his hospital appt about his carpule tunnel. He has been told the op will go ahead and hopefully in the next few weeks. I just hope it doesnt coincide with our planned trip to see the family in N. Ireland at the end of the month ๐Ÿ˜•

so that is two surprises in two days as when out along the river  yesterday she went to investigate a bush on the bank and overstretched resulting in her falling in the river,I then goto soaked as she shook as soon as I had "helped?"her outsurprisedwink

I had no trouble with this site yesterday, or in fact today - so far ๐Ÿ˜‰. But then I'm using android devices. The snagging list has comments re laptops and computers, probably Window operated? No comment from staff there's a surprise but someone had mentioned it on fb and been told there had been a problem but now resolved.  If only staff loved CT as much as fb, but then whoops I'll zip in it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰

Really cool yesterday ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. OH finished stuff in the garden, long legs, long sleeves, body warmer and hat! I pottered at sewing and alterations for friends daughter. She's just starting midwife training but unable to shorten the provided trousers! Still meant I worked in the conservatory in full sun and had to open the door ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Much warmer start today but thick cloud. Tidied cupboards aside wrote shopping list. Blitzed the house. Been shopping. Wind has got up but sky clearing ๐Ÿ‘.

Just as an aside, did you ever "listen" to your parents when young?  Having our grown up son living back with us for a few temporary? months has proved to be a trip down memory lane....yell OH said when he was young he did finally listen to his father when he told him "if you don't get a new battery for that car I won't push it any more....!"

We have threatened that the electricity bill will be astronomical but for our own sakes we will no doubt continue to follow a now well worn trail round the house, switching everything off!

    Hey Ho. laughing

Meanwhile back in grown up son land, I'd better go and sort the tea. wink

Yesterday I had problems, not logging on but the selection using the finger pad on the laptop, only in the CT section. All was well otherwise!!

It looks that September was our last outing for the year, A combination of hospital appointments, a pacemaker replacement...โ€ฆ...so that was 2018!

First sign of winter? a bulk display of de-icer and winter screenwash at Tescos!

Almost Summery today, wind was warm if a tad frisky. To the bird reserve at Cley for a mooch. Nothing exotic but felt the stresses and strains dropping away. Then some vittel shopping on the way home, noting the de-icer, Robsail, outside Morrisons, then back to the CL for clothes washing, showers and then cooking dinner. Busy day but enjoyable.

Oneputt - In answer to your question, just until the weekend then off to Alkborough for a few days. Are you still in Germany?
