Wherenext so sorry to hear your news. Sometimes these things decide to arrive en masse. It's never easy and all part of life's rich tapestry - so they say!
Didn't go shopping with mum, she didn't feel up to it so OH and I gardened all day! As the day progressed we learnt mum had been out doing some pruning and then some sweeping as she felt ok, clearly overdid it 😤.
Had hospital appointment Friday morning, was to have been Friday afternoon but an emergency amputation, we learnt at the clinic, necessitated a change. As it was in London I begged for latest I could have to avoid cattle truck travel and get cheap day return. Arrived 10 mins early, straight in, discussion and out. Very different to DavidKlyne's experience.
Met with cousin for breakfast this morning, she was up to tend her parents grave. Nice catch up not to mention the breakfast 😁
Glorious weather again today without yesterday's wind. Felt much cooler in London than at home yesterday and made exploring QE2park rather chilly, wind tunnelling round buildings I presume. Made apple pies since returning, one to take out for pudding tomorrow rest for freezing 😉. Off out into our garden this afternoon, OH been tackling pruning of our 2 very necessary leylandi's, so glad I was out and didn't know he'd started!!
Milliehull we, just OH and I, had a similar incident at some hot pools in NZ. Only us and we were eventually joined by a family, kiwi/UK mix 😉. 2 men in the pools too, obvious business meeting, dominating one of the sitting pools. All pools different temperatures. They spoke to OH but very condescending 😤😤 and didn't acknowledge my present, culture out there very similar to their large neighbour 😉. Neither of us could come up with appropriate dig. I love Tammygirls suggestion, I've filed it 😂😂.
Enjoy your day folks.

Sorry to read your latest news WN, very difficult when a lot of upsetting things happen together.
Nice day here but I'm inside with a flu like cold, hoping I can throw it off before we go away early next month. I think I should have had shares in Kleenex this year.

Oh brue I'm sorry to read that. Wishing you better. I always go down with something similar after stressful time - nature's way of making you take your foot off the gas? Indulge yourself and take care.
Just been in the garden, OH on a ladder on shed roof, apex not flat roof! Went out the front to potter, mustn't say anything
, came back to find him sitting in the top of the conifer and pruning away. Why are some folks sooooo silly?? 😤😤😤.

Had a serious pruning session including a good giggle this morning. Busy hacking away at ivy etc between fence & shed with only just room for yours truly
, when neighbours returned from Wilmslow Park Run. Mrs Neighbour bemoaning her poor time, worst this year, got the shock of her life when a bush started talking & passing silly comments about how to improve her times
-- at least she allowed me to borrow her husband & his long reach power trimmer for the bits I couldn't get to. Now I've got to find something for them to reduce my indebtedness ! Wonder if a miniature model of The Melrose "Pig Playing Bagpipes" would do
??
.
Sorry to hear of your 'sniffles' Brue, but if you do manage to throw it off not in my direction please, 'cos my 'flu jab wont be administered until next Saturday == a two hour surgery session with all nurses & docs jabbing away like there's no tomorrow, but the Aged One will get her jab at local chemist a good long 25 yard each way walk

ABM I love your sense of humour 😂😂😂. However the Melrose bagpipe playing pig would ensure I never offered assistance again 😉.
Been cutting down the pruning 3 footplate 😲 but can't do too much as it upsets my hands 😢. Couldn't see OH when I went out, that's because he was sitting in the top of the conifer 😲😲😲. He's safely down now thankfully.
Teabreak over more to Tudy, heap and snip to smaller size for the brown bin. Going to be weeks before its all gone!

Very frosty on walk across the park with Rosa this morning, but been cloudless skys since
FS a very big draw to here today, and not stopping at intermediate stations as all trains fully booked ,Overton (for Ferry Meadows) station cafe doing a roaring trade looks as if some have come for the day

Early morning phone call from MIL to nephew. It appears her brother has stabilised. However visitors are banned as they're trying to isolate and eradicate a bacterial infection. Still in serious trouble but not deteriorating. MIL is a typical no nonsense woman from Lancashire, so she told both of us to b****r off. So we have.
I'm going to have to have some serious words with ABM about these Steam Engine thingies. The A50 from Stoke to Uttoxeter was closed today for bridge work so we took the diversion. We trundled along until we got stuck behind a massive queue, all due to one of those S.E.T. moving along at a pace that would satisfy any CMC warden. Took us about 45 minutes from sight of him in distance until it was our turn but the diversion went deeper into back country roads! I let off a bit of steam myself.
We're keeping our fingers and toes crossed, hoping we may see out the next 12 nights.
As I said yesterday, the close relatives of those affected will be having a worse time so in all reality our trials are quite small. One has to keep some perspective.

Not done much today just had a day in the house then popped along to the pub for an hour. Getting the Caravan packed tomorrow ready for the off later in the week when we are heading down to Yorkshire. Not cooking so we plan on getting a take away tonight.

We've just come back from a fab week in the caravan at Chatsworth House. Weather great and had a fab time touring the area and visiting Chatsworth house and gardens. Popped into work in Birmingham on Thursday but even that was easier from there instead of travelling from Durham.
There is no better holiday than camping.
We're now looking around for a full awning to replace our porch awning for next season. The caravan is now tucked away until after the winter. Heading out to India for a week on Thursday and then off to Malaysia for 10 days at the end of the month......working of course. 😎

I have logged Tammygirl's comment as well Bakers2.
They were so rude. Turned their back on me so I couldn't hear their conversation but I caught the fact that they were in education (a headship application was mentioned). I wouldn't want either of them teaching my grandchildren. Lots of 'let's hold on to that thought 'and 'we must move on' comments being made.
I hope your hospital appt was a success and that your Mum will be OK. Glorious weather here as well although a little chilly.

Lovely warm sunny day, after a chilly start, at Okehampton. After getting the washing done we headed off to Meldon Reservoir and walked up to Yes Tor by way of Black To & High Willhays. Considering how fine the day was we were surprised by how few people were out on the moor.

Hope you feel better soon brue. Take care of yourself. As Bakers2 says it is probably the result of a very stressful time recently. Your body is saying 'enough is enough' so take it easy.

Very cold frosty start in the park again this morning,it has now started to cloud over but still sit out temperatures, Rosa is really enjoying this pitch as she is getting fussed by the majority of people passing
Even with FS working until 2200 last night she is still "nervous"when trains go past ,she was fine untill the little train on the park safety valve lifted as we were passing,

Our last day here in cottage. Weather is still nice, dry and sunny, but cool. Beach I think today........

In some ways stress would have been a good reason Millie but a visit to our elderly sick neighbours unwittingly landed me with the bug one of them had. Luckily son and grandson have been with friends this weekend and OH has gone fishing. He is feeling groggy too but fishing today tempted him out. I am staying in, just can't do much till I feel a bit better. Well that's the end if my health bulletin, hope you are all enjoying the weekend!

Really don't understand what I've done to upset Wherenext
.
Complaining about seeing part of Britain's Glorious Heritage indeed
.
Do people not understand just how much it costs me to travel round seeing these gorgeous Steam Engine Thingies ( WN's term ), putting my hard earned ( as if
), pennies into the many & varied Preservation Movements so that others can see them doing what they were designed to do on rural roads FOR FREE ??
If they like I'll suggest that all S.E.T. owners fully cover them with tarpaulins etc & only reveal them on receipt of big big payments from ( non) passing motorists.
ABM { in a hough** }
P.S. there is a North Staffs & South Cheshire Steam Club repair area At Klondyke Mill -- not a million miles from the A50 so the SET you saw may well have been on it's way there ready for a fettling, returning to base, or even preparing for the Autumnal/Bonfire Night Steam Party so there
** Hough -- a small area of South Cheshire on the edge of the Crewe/Nantwich chaos area

We feel your pain
been there and done that a few years ago in Berlin, the last night was horrendous with singing and loud music until 1 am.
Another lovely day here 28c nice
high winds forecast for tomorrow 60 kph so might just not move from here for a couple of days. Site closes on the 6th

Back from a very pleasant 4 days at Cirencester Park - last chance to use the grass pitches too!
Good weather, lots of walking, a visit to The Bell at Sapperton (highly recommended!) and to cap it all there was a "revival" weekend at Cotswold Airport at Kemble so we got a couple of acrobatic fly pasts, including a very odd looking bi-plane.
What's not to like?

I'am sure we would have given Rosa a fuss in passing too JVB66 but not sure where you are onsite, we are probably on the wrong side.

Finally the site wifi is working,
probably because the site has half emptied after a very full weekend.
Met up with Milliehull and her other half this afternoon, wandered up to see Flying Scotsman pass through the station and then headed off for a late lunch . Great to catch up, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon.
We move on to Stamford tomorrow for a couple of days before heading home.
Glad you enjoyed your few days at Cirencester Moulesy.

Hope you feel better soon Brue.

We have had a lovely meet up with Helen and Trevor today. We had a walk round Ferry Meadows followed by a late pub lunch. It was great to see them and their lovely dog again. We even managed a glimpse of The Flying Scotsman as it steamed through 😊.

Great photo Millie, it was lovely to meet up again
Flying Scotsman is a great engine, we've enjoyed seeing it passing through this weekend.

I think our posts must have crossed!! It was great catching up with you again. Hopefully we will get to the Cotswolds sometime next year.

Moved on today to North Norfolk coast. No Steam Engine Thingies in sight
, but nice big ship passing by Sutton Bridge causing 30 minutes delay. Still, the sun was shining and the car warm.
Nice meeting up with the owner of the CL we are on. Real character as well as his lovely 15 yo collie. Stretched the legs this afternoon at Burnham Overy Staithe before attempting to put up the awning. Seems ok.
Mrs WNs uncle still in a bad way but may be allowed visitors tomorrow so things must be improving. Thank you to all of you who have kept your fingers crossed.
Good to hear most of you enjoying yourselves, but best to Brue for a speedy recovery. Not been the best of times for you Brue. I'll keep my own fingers crossed for an improvement in your luck.
To ABM -
