Well I would like to thank Merve for the information and can’t believe the tone of certain me members on here and wonder why moderators have not stepped in...

Merve do all Morrison’s do lpg ? And do safegill keep an updated map ?

We have found that it is a minority of Morrisons that have LPG, none in our area do.

That’s great news David. Shame for you KjellNN- it’s cold comfort K but neither do I🤣🤣 - but there are Morrisons all over the country and it may be you can fill up en route to your next site? Any new fill points has to be good news for refillable cylinder users. I say refillable cylinder users so that I don’t tread on the sensibilities of anyone who has anything other than a Safefill but - and I stand to be corrected here- I don’t think Morrisons will allow fills if it’s not Safefill- this notification was SPECIFICALLY for Safefill.

I think probably more common in England than up here, mind you we have filled up the car at several of their forecourts in England when away and never saw any with LPG.

There is an Asda within a few miles of us that  is supposed to have LPG, but the access for a van or MH is poor so we have not checked it out.

We filled recently at a motorway service area and were pleasantly surprised that the LPG price was quite reasonable, their petrol/diesel prices were still very high though.

Well K, we now have a full list of Morrisons LPG outlets on here, perhaps you’ll be able to plan a stop off for a fill up on route to your next location? I hope so, every ‘refillable’ that goes for filling or too up will help keep more LPG points open.

For those who are worried about certification.  I have a mega Calor Container 1900 litres - installed in 1991 and it sprang a leak a couple of weeks ago - or I smelled it then it could have been going on for weeks in my back garden without me noticing - the industry is not without it's flaws but my current providers came out very smartly and installed a new gauge and some other seals!

Thanks hallagather, I’m not going anywhere. Sorry to those looking for the Morrisons list. I’m just wondering now  where I saw it?? The fact is though that ALL Morrisons with an LPG pump will now fill Safefill cylinders. As has been pointed out, not all Morrisons forecourts have them. I wonder if Morrisons could help by providing a list of LPG pumps?

Yes Dave, I was in touch with FillLPG a couple of year ago. I encouraged them to show Safefill friendly sites. I now use mylpg.eu as Safefill does. Safefill have a problem with time keeping up their Safefill sites list and map and I believe they now encourage everyone to use myLPG.eu who show Safefill friendly sites. Thanks ET for the link- I knew I had seen a list of Morrisons LPG outlets!

So, that's put a mockers on the original OP then. As safefill is a portable gas cylinder then safefill must be wrong in what they say as the statement from Morrisons is basically saying only vehicles that run on LPG can be filled from there sites as was always the case. Nothing changed then. undecided So the big question is "Who is Kirsty from Morrisons"

Thanks for the Heads up on Morrison's and Safefill Filling Merve. You are a mine of useful information for anybody who wants to Caravan or Motorhome off- Grid.

The financial savings to be made using the refill method as against buying a standard replacement cylinder is considerable and over the year a massive reduction on gas outlay is achievable.

    Regards K smile

I think the post from DD showing the "Morrisons will not" statement might be quite an old statement  (although the email DD had may be recent) as I am 95% sure that I have seen that statement published right here word for word on CT ages ago.

It may or may not still be Morrisons company policy today, who knows? Morrisons do. The club could really help members by clearing this matter up with an approach to Morrisons at above ordinary members of the public's pay grade i.e. by the clubs technical department direct to Morrisons Head Office. It would not be matter of persuading Morrisons one way or the other, just clarifying their current position.

However, much as I do hope Morisons will now fill Safefill officially, as far as I am concerned, a "Twitter from Kirsty" just cannot (IMHO) be taken as any serious indication of Morrison's current company policy.

Despite being a very satisfied Safefill user and advocate (and being very much on the same wavelength as Merve) I do have reservations about this particular thread until I see better evidence than a Tweet.

Interesting thought Fysherman. I understand where you are coming from in that a definitive answer from the likes of Morrisons is the only way to settle this once and for all. Be it Safefill or any other refillable system. We don't seem to have that many people in the Club willing to do as you suggest. I always remember Hazel (who left for elsewhere) from Overseas Touring in the earlier days of the forum. If she picked up a question about concerns about regulations in Europe she was often onto to it as quick as a flash and would have an answer within days. Jean from Insurance was the same. Probably too much emphasis on Facebook to pay much attention to this forum. I know Rowena does what she can but the fact that she has to take the initiative which is perhaps telling.

Yes, I remember Hazel and spoke to her on one occasion. She was very conscientious . Bit of a star really.

Fysherman, the tweet is real! I gave a link to the twitter page so people could see it was real. This doubt that appears to be all pervasive probably has its roots in 50yrs or so of not being able (legally) to refill a rental cylinder! Add to that the lies and propaganda put out by the enemies of Safefill- and they are many and varied, and you arrive at a situation where one just has to have doubts about a major supermarket accepting Safefill cylinders on their forecourts. Guys, I understand this is groundbreaking, it’s massive in the history of our hobby and we have been lucky enough to see it happen. It’s real! If I still can’t persuade you then email customer services like I and many others did when I started a campaign to get Morrisons to accept Safefill! They are very good at getting back to you and they WILL confirm that Morrisons now accept Safefill Cylinders for filling- what more can I say?

Good post Merve, You can't say fairer than that.

I would expect that any caravan/motorhome owner with safefill equipment would obviously check out availability at their particular branch of Morrisons for themselves.

This is another thread where the club, if it so wished, could assist members by asking Morrison’s to give them, the club, a statement confirming that they, Morrison’s, allowed the filling of Safefill bottles.
