I emailed Helen yesterday morning as we hadn't seen her on CT for a while. I haven't heard back yet which is unusual. Perhaps  (hopefully) they are away in their caravan with no Wi-Fi. I will post on here if I hear anything.

We were fortunate when we were in the D&G, some light rain and that was it really. It's not often that one can spend nearly 9 weeks in Scotland and have so little rain...and no midges either.

I think that even if there's a bit of noise as we're there for only 3 nights it won't matter over much. The beauty of our last trip was that all our sites were very peaceful indeed.

Will do B2, but it won't be this next trip. You may even get onto it before us and I'd be interested in what you think, if you do.

Milliehull hopefully you'll hear from Helenandtrevor soon, please pass on my best. Day of spooky things, first this and then for some reason BestBoy popped into mind and low he'd posted a review today.

Goldie have a fabulous break and plenty of rest and whatever else your body needs 😉😉. I mean gin 😂

Milliehull what a lively idea grandparents at school - rather a long way for my though 😂😂.

    Brue grandchildren 😘😘

Had the caravan serviced at home today, with not the best of outcomes. One of the linings had detached from a brake shoe and so a replacement shoe is needed, so another visited from the service engineer when he gets the parts. Guess that I was fortunate that he found it before we set off again or else we could have been in trouble had it seized up en route. However every thing else seems to be fine and he's replaced the Alde fluid too. Could be facing a largish bill nevertheless.frown

Just spotted her comments after I'd posted my reply.

Whispy red clouds in the sky outside of my window at the moment, and a gentle cooling breeze blowing in.

Nice to read about everyone's travels. We're off again soon, bad planning as the builders are here, a mound of rubble where our old conservatory used to be.

Another hot day ahead, this seems like the coolest part of the day just now. smile

Lovely sunny day here, just been out and watered the veggies and topped up pond, both were sadly lacking.  Chores and pottering around house and garden today.  All enjoy your day

It's going to be a busy day ahead!

My wife has a dental appointment at Guys Hospital at 13:30. So I'll need to drop her off at Goring-by-sea railway station to catch the 10:57 train to London Bridge. She just bought the day return ticket online through Trainline for £25.65 including the £0.95 booking fee. She'll have to change at East Croydon. Her ETA is 12:34 p.m. so she'll have time for lunch before her appointment.

I'm due into work at 17:00 and finish 22:00 tonight.

Yesterday, I was notified at work that The Lancing shop got two certificates of excellent customer service because of customer reviews about me. In one of the reviews, I was described as polite and excellent experience. The regional manager came to visit me at the shop to congratulate me! The Lancing shop got 3 certificates altogether, two of them with my name on them and one certificate in one of the managers name. So I was well pleased with the news of customers being happy with my service to them!

The certificates are on display on the staff noticeboard inside the despatch area.

Another glorious start to the day, still got the breeze which maybe a little stronger and a bit of cloud. We intend to walk along the front into Yarmouth so welcome today's weather.

Just booked Pinewoods on the Holkham Estate 😲😲 for 3 nights. Tried numerous times last evening but 3rd party pay page wouldn't allow me to enter card details or change the way the name was shown - needed to be exactly as shown on the card, but would let me enter other details. Explained it to the lady I spoke to who seemed disinterested but ehen pushed saud she'd tell her manager. Was also asked was mitirhome registered with DVLA? Yes, no been asked that before, response we've had to turn some booked ones away 😲 i'll persue that too. Want to visit the house and grounds but only open Thursday, Sunday and Monday noon till 4pn so hoping it won't be too hot Thursday!  Then onto C&CC site at Sandringham, this club hadn't got continously nights until Tuesday. Be interesting to compare the 2 sites been to this club one before but we had the grand-dog so couldn't do the house.

    Enjoy your day folks

Lovely day here as well. However, in other respects not going very well. Reversed off the drive prior to going to pick up the van, following a repair to the Alde, when the car sputtered to a halt and would not start again. Managed to get it parked sensibly and am waiting on Mayday. We were booked into a site for the next few days. Looking a bit doubtful at the moment.☹️

Could be worse though,we could have had the van on the back.😀

Congratulations Malcolm. This just proves that not all good customer service is restricted to North of Watford Gapwink (although I do know a rather surly local Book Shop Manager who should really sell up and find a more appropriate job as a Pallbearer)

Off to dentist in Chester early this afternoon. Will pick Mrs WN and MIL up who decided that they urgently needed a day of retail therapy.

I was going to say that the house seems quiet except for the noise emanating from the new housing project going up nearby. They are pile driving through some newly discovered concrete that is causing them some problems.yell

BTW - For those looking for H&T, aren't they on a CL in mid Wales around about now? If they are then wifi may be non existent.

If you have the full super 5cs policy. They will take you to your site and take you back home if the repairs can't be completed whilst there. So you should not have to cancel your holiday!

Green flag man got it going, fuel problem, but advised getting it checked before towing the van. Unfortunately the garage can't fit it in immediately, so site cancelled ☹️ and caravan dealer stuck with van. Presumably because of costs, it seems to be a recurring problem these days, no one has any spare capacity, especially towards holiday time.

I might be prepared to risk it but Mayday pointed out when I phoned, they won't cover for the same fault within 28 days, unless you have had it checked out by a garage.

Not sure if that is the case if you are at home when you break down M.

In our case we only had the first two nights in Clumber booked in any event, and we were going to book what was available once there.

Sitting in the shade under a tree next to our very big pitch. It really is a wonderful site (New England Bay). You can park in neat rows or find a secluded corner with no one either side.

Because we left home in such a rush we drove up to Stranraer Morrisons this morning to stock up.

Now there’s nothing to to but relax

Hi Bakers, just noticed you had booked into Pinewoods. (Lottery win? Ha ha!) Have you been before? If it's the house you are interested in, it's a good hours walk form Site, down some busy roads, or a bit further if you go through the dunes forest and then down the drives. I only mention it as some folks think they are close being on same estate. We almost stayed at Pinewoods a few years ago, but to cut a long story short went elsewhere. The house is nice, as is the walled garden, which is partially restored. The beach up at Pinewoods is accessed through the woods, and is where the closing shots of Shakespeare in Love were filmed, beautiful sands.smile

I think you should still be covered, SteveL. Best to check your policy details. You will need it, otherwise you'll be cancelling your booking without the required 72 hours notice.

Bakers, as Ttda explained the House is a good walk from Pinewoods but in this heat I would stick to the woods or even catch the bus (Coast Hopper) towards Hunstanton and it will drop you off outside the house. Any which way  you arrive you could refresh yourselves in the cafe next door or even the Victoria pub right in front of the house. Then walk back along the beach to Pinewoods.

Will be interested to hear what Pinewoods is like now that they've had a makeover.

Unfortunately Mrs WN had a successful day in Chester, so much so that my visit to the dentist was the least painful part of the day.

We have lived in our house for over 30 years, in all that time we have always had a family of Jays living in the wood at the bottom of our garden. At first we would just see a flash of white as they flew back to the wood after taking food I had put out, such shy birds. As time went on their visits became more prolonged, with the young ones being far more brave than the parents. This year there appear to be three young ones. Today the three youngsters have all been bathing in our bird bath, mostly taking turns or all in together, with some squabbling. I have refilled the bath 3 times today. I feel like I am filling the paddling pool for the kids!
