Please pass on our regards to Mr Jackson should you see him before you leave, and say that we may be paying him a visit on the CL later in the year.
Enjoy your stay in Pembrokeshire and I hope that your trip to Skomer goes well.

I finished work on time last night. The last hour was very quiet. Was that because England were defeated by Belgium in the football world cup?

We have been to School Sports Day for 2 of the grandchildren this morning. Very proud as they both did very well but I must admit I was distracted by 2 beautiful red kites circling overhead.

Now, joke time is over, so I'll get back to cleaning a window or three with my new toy !!
Me Owd granny would have had a dicky fit just thinking of 'vacuuming' the blooming windows
. Crumpled Daily Herald & a touch of Sarsons vinegar was all she needed, that & a pair of heavy wooden steps 'cos she stood all of 4' 9"

A few photos from our Norfolk holiday, St Benet's Abbey near Ludham Bridge, only reachable on foot or by boat. I had a deja vu moment there and remembered I'd been before on a walking holiday with my parents. Never mind it's very peaceful out there even though it was a bit of trek in hot weather.
On the coast, a stop off at Happisburgh and the lighthouse. There is a very good parking area, information about the village, etc and an excellent small adventure playground for children. Workmen were just about to cut a new access ramp to the beach where the coastal erosion is sadly continuing.
And then a visit to the church at Paston. A thatched church with a slightly crumbling interior but some wall paintings on view and information about the Paston family who rose up from being yeoman farmers to big landowners. I've got a paperback book of their famous letters dating from 1422.
We passed some CLs close to the coast en route for Incleboro Fields at West Runton. Must look them up.
West Runton itself has a good beach and the famous fossil beds in the cliffs, I didn't find another "elephant" which turned out to be a woolly mammoth, quite a find locally.

Lovely photos brue. I have made a note of Paston church for next time we are in the area.

And me as well! There are dozens of nice CLs in North Norfolk, to suit all preferences.

Great pictures, brue. I think it's one of the more enjoyable features of CT that we can share photos of our trips away (reasonably) easily now.
We were in Norfolk a couple of years ago and loved the whole area. Keep saying we must go back so it's good to have some ideas of places to visit if and when we do.

We managed to get a cancellation so we are on site now we only got the cancellation this morning so it was a quick pack of the van and then away. Its 28 degrees here so we are sitting outside the van with the burgers sizzling away on the Cadac and I am drinking a nuce cold Newcastle Brown Ale.

Often best way to do it! Enjoy!

Grand pictures Brue, we too like the Norfolk coast.
Hope you are having a good time down in Cornwall, and that it's not too hot for the dogs.
Enjoy your stay at Ayr, Francis. It's easier with a M/H to make a last minute dash to a site.
More cleaning in the van this morning. Managed to get rid a lot of gung out around the roof lights before it got too hot and about half of the hoovering done inside. Have now booked all bar the last CL for our next trip.

Our fiamma box on back of MH this morning, stroller just fits in, phew! Bit of gardening, bit of sitting in garden saying " hot innit?" Bit of this and that and a couple of dog walks!

Arrived at Great Yarmouth yesterday. Very cloudy and chilly northeast wind brrrr. Cloud/fog forecast for today didn't greet us this morning - still a very chilly wind. Walk to the dunes and beach watched the terns fighting the wind and diving, almost trod on a skylark in the dunes 😲, it did fly off. Lunch outside then over to the stands for racing, a first for us. Half price entry via the wardens so £8 each. Both managed a first, mine had better odds 😉. OH picked but didn't place a bet on another 1st 😂😂. I had a 2nd and 4th the others were 3rds. He had one placed. No skill involved just picked if I liked the colours failing that I picked women jockeys or trainers 😉. Frankie Detori rode too, but my horse beat him 😉. Just about covered my entry and a bet or 2, but at £1 each way wasn't expecting much. Cloud cover again and by the last race we were both very cold, most folks had resorted to their coats or blankets, but we didn't walk back to get another layer so came back and put the heater on to thaw out 😲😲😲.
Heard from DIL2B, both in late, no surprise there! He now knows he's camping but that's it. Expecting them 9.30pm or later I got ready to cook pasta and homemade sauce for them, we've eaten! Then erect a new tent. I think it's going to be fun 😉. Especially with an excited dog 😂😂😂
Great photos brue. Glad everyone enjoying the heat. Our heating is off but hoodie still on.

All ready for the off then?

Where are you off to next nth?
Have a good time in York Tda.
Hope the birthday celebrations go well Bakers2. The racing is good fun isn't it😁
Trouble with OH's blood test yesterday. He needs another test on Monday to check. Hope all OK as we are off to see the family in N. Ireland next Thursday. There is always something 😕

It was non-stop last night at work and I beat last Fridays total in drop money and tips. Orders kept coming in right up until closing time with two more deliveries to do after 11 p.m. I finally finished at 11:30 p.m. feeling absolutely exhausted! I used the head torch for the last hour. I'll be using it more and more in the months to come as the evenings continue to draw in
!
Tonights shift will be even longer. I'm due in at 5 p.m. and finish at 11 p.m. which could in practice mean another 11.30 p.m. finish. That would mean 6 and a half hours to do tonight and then Sunday off.

Up early today, 6 am, grandson here, already outside with water guns etc. Family arriving for son's birthday lunch at the pub later....how did that happen thought we were having the grandson and they were all off somewhere else?! Had to make a last minute birthday cake, a special birthday for him. Another very hot day on the way.
Reading through posts so hope the various trips go well. B2 the racing sounded good fun. How old is Franke D now, seems to have been racing a long time.
Sorry about the test results Millie, I was the same just before we went away and ended up having to ring the surgery when we were on holiday. Hope the next results are better for Mr H and you can enjoy your NI visit.
Nellie, your swift turn arounds are remarkable, will be interested to hear about the next trip.
Pleased to hear TDA got the stroller on board, we had to squeeze ours into the washroom, not much room so better to get one into the Fiamma box (which we ought to get, they are useful.)
Don't work or play too hard anyone, have a good weekend.

I'm afraid it's going to be hard work for me tonight! However, it's payday next Friday so that I can look forward to a big funding boost to my bank account
! Also I'm achieving record amounts in drop money and tips,
which will also go into my bank account when I next get a day off and enough time off to get there, face the queues and deposit the cash!
. No retirement for me! I believe it pays to work! Work makes money and money buys me a better life! Long may it continue this way!

My income tax will go up too, next Friday. The extra hours plus extra pay means extra tax. So good news for HMRC too! I'm in the 20% tax bracket, so I still get to keep 80% of the extra money I earn. So well worthwhile, don't you think?

One of the managers at work asked me if I had any holiday plans. I said no. The last time I had a holiday was two weeks at the Baltic Wharf club site in Bristol over Christmas and New Year.
The problem with holidays is that even if I get paid pro rata because of holiday leave entitlement, I lose out on the daily pay of drop money and tips. So lost earnings!
Then there's the cost of towing the caravan to another location. I used two tanks full of diesel for the Shogun on the Bristol trip at a cost of £180. Then the cost of site fees on top because going on holiday means leaving our seasonal pitch and staying on another site at full price. So it's a double whammy of lost earnings and increased expense and that's without taking into account any other costs such as visiting tourist attractions etc. That's what puts me off retirement. Lost earnings and increased expenditure because you need to fill that time that you spend at work with leisure activities which cost money. In the words of Dickens Mr. Macawber, it would be a recipe of financial disaster for me!
Furthermore, they need drivers to be available for work. How can they run a delivery service with drivers away on holiday? Although I may be entitled to holidays, I surely can forgo that entitlement, can't I? I don't think there's any law that says you must have a holiday, is there?

Enjoy yourself at Picton Castle, was a few years ago when I last visited. Had lunch yesterday at Lawrenny Quay café, very nice, just up the estuary from Picton Castle, Sat outside overlooking the Cleddau Estuary.
We are so lucky to be having such lovely weather.
