Clear blue this morning as as JVB66 says not that humid feel. I'm going to the laundrette, are they still called that? Very soon with our duvet. A novel experience. Otherwise the days my own as hospital appointment cancelled. Might only might get shed  tidy today, I did the freezer the other day.

Oneputt shame about the trees but shade could be handy over the weekend.

    Enjoy your day.

Ps I thought there was a thread, started months ago, about electric vehicles or is my memory playing tricks?

Yes, so half a tank would be 110 miles. 99 miles is just 11 miles less than that! So an electric full charge is almost the equivalent of half a tank of petrol.

Yes Bakers2 I thought that a separate thread had been started some while on electric cars. If not perhaps it would be a good idea for those involved in that  discussion to start one.

Several EV threads out there. smile

Windy night again here so woke up early to hear the storms straps doing their work!

Will take a leisurely stroll with the dog buggy to the beach, watch the rolling waves I think, bracing air down there. smile

Reading about the old RB four candles sketch, the old hardware shop he based it on in Crewkerne (near to us at home) is no longer there. But that still leaves a really good one which many go into and find it hard to leave. wink

Sunny but windy morning so left early for Titchwell and spotted parent and baby Twany Owl just outside reception.  Will post photo when I get home.  Good deed for the day was finding an exhausted and stressed Wren from one of the hides just hope it recovers quickly.

Now back at van doing chores.  Will go for a walk from Burnham Overy Staithe to Holkham about 4pm

Very sunny here early on but has now clouded over a bit, ideal weather for lugging stuff out to the van this afternoon.

OH is in full "washing mode" to get enough clean clothes to last the whole trip so we can leave the washing machine at home.

Only our first site (CCC Derwentwater) has any facilities.

Trying to travel light these days!

We usually have a walk around town while they are doing! Lots of CLs have washing machines nowadays as well, so quite easy. Only time we tend to take more clothes than we might use is at change of seasons, but even then it will just be a couple of woolies or a fleece.

Just had a look at our thermometer, already 27c here and still climbing! Not a cloud in the sky either.........glorious.

Bright sunny start for our last morning at Cirencester. Just enough time for a stroll through to the park and a wander round to say hello to fellow CTer Only Jen and her sister, Jo. Good to meet you both and enjoy the rest of your stay at this lovely site. smile

PS - when I left at 11:25, there were 3 units waiting at reception, 2 more parked up on the access road (if you know the site you'll  realise how awkward that makes things) and another 3 heading along the road, possibly to the site. It's going to be a busy weekend for those very hard working wardens! surprised

Fortunately we have a high payload compared to newer vans!

On a shorter trip, as this will be, we prefer not to have to seek out a laundrette, and as far as we are aware, none of the CLs do have clothes washing facilities.

Moved on this morning from Pontorson to a lovely quiet campsite at Creully about 12 km from Bayeux.

We arrived before lunch so once we were set up and finished lunch we set off on the bikes for the coast, not bad going across a mix of quiet country roads and tracks across the fields. We then arrived at Juno beach followed by Gold beach, love this area but not been back for 6 years, glad we squeezed it in. Tomorrow is set to be another good day so more trips outsmile

Bakers2, not hogging the good weather, just Cyber was up to early in the morning to get the benefitwink I'm sure he is getting it now.

    Happy weekend all, stay safe.

B2 I looked out about 11 pm and could see what I thought was Jupiter and it's moon to the east of The Moon. It was still quite light this far north and I could only make out the planet's moon with my binoculars. Would that have been correct? There was a planet due west of us earlier in the evening and than, having to get up at about 3 am I looked out and I guess I could see Mars high in the southern sky.  Hope that this makes sense.

We pack what we want anticipate we'll need for every type of weather and then do our washing in the van as and when we require. The washer sits well on the back seat of the car when travelling.

Lovely warm day here. We had a grand walk over Scout Scar to Helsingham Church. Lots of different butterflies about including a couple of blue ones but too quick to identify and what I think was a Dark Green Fritillary. Got a picture of it, just wish I was able to post it on here.frown

Plenty of dark greens here Nell but can I get one with its wings closed, absolutely not, never mind tomorrow’s and day.  Just been outside the van and Jupiter is showing well, can make out 2 moons but it’s still not dark enough so will take another look shortly.

Shh don’t tell anyone but treated myself to a curry night that’s after a cooked breakfast this morning, in mitigation I did walk about 8 miles today😇😜

Possibly resizing Rockz. I find I often cannot post a photo I would like to be able to use, at least not without losing too much detail. Works fine on other websites without all the fiddling about.........

Good morning by the way, glorious here, hope you have the same.....laughing

Phew! another hot sunny day here in Normandy, pretty chilly overnight, though much nicer for sleeping than the muggy nights we had in the Vendee.

Just chilling this morning, so nice to be on a quiet site, no road noise, no noisy neighbours lovely.

Will go out somewhere after lunch on the bikes.

As to washing and clothes taken, I am guilty of taking far too much. This time I thought I had cut down but yet again over half the clothes I brought have not been worn. We have  a great weight allowance so not a problem as such, we also carry a washing machine so regular washes done. One day I hope to travel lightlaughing

Sorry about the delay in responding but only just managed to log in. What a bl**dy awful web site!!

I keep getting a request to resize to under 500mb and I've no idea how to go about that.

I can resize some photos via iPad, but you lose a lot of detail. Others use some form of photo app I think. It's sometimes too complicated to bother with on here, when other websites are so easy to post photos!
