You, or should I say we, try to help fellow CTers but it would appear that they don't want any help......same old moan, moan, moan!!

I think all the new colourful site maps have a picture of the method of parking that is designed for the majority of members with uk caravans, but underneath, it advises that other ways of pitching can be used just have a word with the site staff and if going to a site that has been upgraded or new to us we always print a copy of the site map before going to give an overview of what the ptching is like

We have a wrong side caravan, and were always advised to pitch 'nose in' on Caravan Club sites. To be absolutely honest just how much do they actually intrude on your privacy when there is only six metres (just a bit more than the length of our living room) between you and your neighbours!
This what it actually says on the C&MC website:
b. The site staff will advise you where your outfit should go in relation to the marker. If you wish to pitch in any other way please ask the site staff. So presumably, all those pitching in 'a different way' asked the site staff.

what's this post (complete rubbish, anyway) got to do with parking the van on a pitch?
as usual, just a silly shot at another section of the membership.
i can't help it if you made a mistake buying your 'motorcaravan' but we, and many others, didn't.....and don't use bus stops (in the rain or the dry) through choice...
what a dork
PS, i added the smiley so that I can is insult you and get away with it, as I believe this is how a 'certain collective noun' of the membership (like you and an earlier poster) do it
quite easy and liberating, actually.....perhaps I'll try it again later

Basically it's all about the gap to the next outfit, as long as the 6 and 3 metre gaps are maintained then there is no reason an outfit cannot pitch as they wish. Granted, this depends on the site layout and a degree of common sense from site staff and members.

Same with us. I suppose in most cases that is what someone with a caravan, with door on the near side, is going to do. Unless it is a site with nice views. A motorhome is somewhat different, in involving ramps to level front to back, so are perhaps more likely to opt for front in. Perhaps the wardens vary their talk according to what rig you have.
In any event we also know we can put front nearside to the peg. I think we have done this twice in 13 years. However, now with the new site plans it is clear to all.

At Hebden Bridge site last year, our first visit, the warden asked whether we preferred a grass or hardstanding pitch, when we said grass, he pointed out a nice pitch and actually advised us to go nose in, and helped us pitch.

"in the rain..." - gosh, you've been unlucky DD because we've just been on a CL in Wales for a week in glorious sunny weather. Still, if you must go to sites where the vans are all lined up and neatly spaced I guess you would feel a bit glum if the weather's not good as well!
