What you really mean to say (if truthful), that if there was space for the amount of LVs wanting to use the limited space that there is "over here" compared to the huge area that is available "over there"then it could well be a different scenario

CS, I know we are not forced to go to club sites (you tell us often enough
), I do go and don't have a problem with them ,but just letting others know that there are some alternatives out there ,and all with in the fire regs,spacing etc It's nice when you come back to the site with a motorhome that you don't have to park within a nats of the peg ,but still have plenty of room between units
we used to go to Black Knowl ,but now they have turned it in to a carpark we give it a miss

How can this be a problem. There are notices, Little outfits on the office windows, etc. but it is. There was a M/home at St Davids that moved daily but was always parked on the wrong side each evening on their return. It happens, dont let it get yo down.

That site is never like that when I stay there, DD. It’s rotten luck that you’ve now picked two occasions to stay when all these events are taking place. 😧

Not good enough for me, not up to the club's standard. Untidy sites and facilities. Looked good in pictures but in reality no. Too variable in quality.

in fairness, you've tried some, but for all to be so awful as to be below 'club standards' (middle of the road) you must have had plenty of that rotten luck TW mentioned earlier.
plenty of commercials that satisfy even the most discerning of customers...

The CMC sites all comply to a certain standard I will be the first to admit. That Standard is best described as fairly good. However There are Very many privately run sites which can be described as "excellent" as I have discovered in last year's survey. Sites on the Camping and Caravan Club network can excel with others being of a similar standard to those on the CMC network.
But there is more to a good campsite than boring grey gravel and a load of caravans all lined up in perfect rows. There is ambience, scenic views from the pitches, plenty of walking from the site etc which make sites attractive. Granted Bunree and Morvich meet that standard. ,But I've been to both so many times I have no need to return. .....Many praise the CMC public Lavatories, But there are better to be found and let's face it, who wants to spend their precious holiday time loitering in public lavatories. (My apologies to those who do.)
So in conclusion there is a great world out there beyond the gates of CMC sites and I would suggest that posters give that world a try. To many of us Location comes first and foremost and in truth the CMC is lagging behind on that front.

I agree in some ways, K. But let me just get this right in my head. Are you saying that to suggest folk try other than CAMC sites is a good sound advice? I ask because, although I agree with that point of view and have advised similarly myself, I note that you have, in the past, liked DD's post to Corners calling it "bullying" and to me, earlier in this thread, calling it "antagonistic and unnecessary".
So what is your real opinion about suggesting folk look for alternatives to CAMC sites?

I always think a good insult rather than a reasoned logical response always makes one's point better, and of course it is far easier on the brain cells.

I will "like" whichever post I choose as I'm sure most intelligent posters will.
People "like" posts for a number of reasons, they can like the intelligent and thoughtful way the post is presented, or that they agree with part or all of a post, or that reading the post has added a new dimension to their understanding of the thread subject.
Rest assured M, In all those years on this forum I have only been mildly tempted to "like" one of your posts but not enough to click on the "Like" button. So there's no need for you to worry.

Brilliant as always MT. Deflect onto liking posts (which btw IMHO you have distorted M's post - he asked why not don't) rather than answer the main question:

A simple question, is there a reason why you cannot go to club sites?

Ha Ha! Nicely swerved as ever, K. But you'll note on careful reading that I was simply commenting on the seeming inconsistency of your views on recommending non CAMC sites, not criticising your "liking record".
I don't suppose there's the remotest chance of you coming off the fence and letting us know, is there?
