anyway back to the OP, W&J:

    1) Have you now understood the pitching rules for club sites (1 mark)

    2) Have you now realised these have been standard practice for a number of years, even with an article in the club magazine? (2 marks)

    3) did you discuss these concerns with the wardens? (1 mark)

    4) describe in less than 10000 words why you keep going to club sites when there are many things that upsets you? (10 marks)

    5) do you agree with Albert Einstein who is credited with “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. (6 marks)

"even in the uk, sites like Concierge Camping, Old Oaks, the Morris Leisure group (to name a few) are (IMHO as above) 'better' than the typical club site..."

And with prices to match! surprised

still, my fairly wide experience of sites across Europe would, lend me to have sufficient knowledge to know what a top class site is...

ive named some uk ons in my previous post, but regarding really top class site with loads of facilities at great prices, the club is a long way adrift of some of the sites I've used.

Sounds as if you are setting yourself up to be a judge there BB

I answered that question a few weeks ago, But since you ask nicely I'll answer again..  I found that I was preferring to use CL's CS's and C&CC sites more and more because of their scenic locations in areas of natural beauty, They have a laid back and relaxed atmosphere to their sites which I particularly like. Therefore well after 30 odd years of using CC/CMC sites I decided to not renew my CMC discount card for a year  and do a survey as to what commercial sites were better located and of better quality. ( not that the CMC sites were bad )  I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised and happy with what I have discovered. So as you can see it was a matter of personal choice, which I'm glad I made and have no plans to renew the discount card in the near future. I have a much better choice now.

I have set aside my motto for once to post this explanation   ----------- So  CS ( MT)  I hope that answers your question.

Doubt that there are truly that many that only use CC sites despite your snide remark. I did not suggest that you were not discerning but as usual you forget that what makes an excellent site (in the Uk of course as that is the area under discussion) is a matter of personal choice and our likes are not dependant on your tastes or dictats. For example you mention 'loads of facilities which is something that I do not want.

You say that you have mentioned some UK sites in a previous post. Was that on this thread? I shall look back

I have used a number of Morris Leisure sites but I am not overly enthused BB. I

We are on their Oxon site near Shrewsbury at present and it is OK and better than any of their other sites in my personal view. I still prefer the CC sites though and would inform you that because I don't share your tastes does not mean that I am in my dotage. For all I know your tastes may be the all in your mouth.

i prefer the accuracy of the lance and swiftness of the blade rather than the clumsiness of the mace.....

Don't think so BB, it's the "Head Butt" that you most frequently use, IMO of course.

Surely not playground bullies ?!!  We've mostly all heard the playground taunt .   ." Come out and fight the six of us" laughing

I'm sure  that sort of thing  won't happen on this forum.

That's the way to do it! wink Pitch to the peg or ask if an alternative is possible.  This is the advice regarding pitching given on the new site maps handed out on arrival. Clearly some units, some outfits & some pitches will 'allow' that flexible arrangement whilst still maintaining the '6&3s'! All we need to do is enquire, not assume!

Oh I see DD, BB replies to me and you reply to his comment about me and it's not aimed at me? (apge 8) and we're supposed to know that?

well actually I don't use a lot of smileys, usually just one, maybe two, not a lot.

again easier to type a smiley than think of a reasoned response DD

    (note lack of smiley)

Have just read through this thread (I really should get out more). With reference to the original post, I have seen both caravans and motorhomes pitched "nose in", why single out motorhome owners? In fact, does any of this really matter as long as it is pitched to the peg? Maybe I have failed to grasp the problem.

Sir Bruin,  Some caravanners still cannot come to terms with sharing a site with  motor homes  , hence the animosity,, it's a shame, but there you go. surprised
