    Just  back  from  Darkest  Kernowland  !!  Had  a  decent  enough  time  at  Trewethett  Farm,  plenty  of  our European  neighbours  there  {  sadly  no  signs  of  that  Minogue  lady  frown  }  Loads of  dogs  and  children  all  enjoying  themselves  &  fairly  quietly  too  laughing --  { never  a  bad  thing  coming  from  an  Old  Goat  wink}

Hope  you  all  are  feeling  as  chipper  as  can  be  after  the  tantrums  of  old  Thor  recently,  very  little  rain  on  my  parade  actually,  just  a  fair  few  good  thunder  claps.

The  worst  thing  I  saw  was  the  horrendous  price  of  diesel  on  the  M5  -  144.9  against  the  128.9  at  Morrisons  in  Crewe  !!  Thank  Evans  I've  got  a  fairly  light  right  foot-- well light  considering  it  is  a  Size  11 embarassed

Huskypup,  I'll  be  thinking  of  you  &  yours  tomorrow,  it's  never  easy  as  many  of  us  know.

    Brian

Thinking about you tomorrow HD.  Hope all goes to plan for the celebration of the life of your Dad.  It will give you all chance to reflect, meet and talk about the good times and to support each other at what will inevitably be a difficult time.

    Best wishes

    David

I hope the day goes as well as it can HD.  Your comment about if your farther is still with us reminds me of how lucky I was to be with my dad before he left us after many years of no contact and being able to introduce him to his teenage grandson.  It's a long story and reasons behind the situation were neither mine nor his doing. But I am eternally grateful for  being able to be with him at end .

Thinking of you today HD. We have funeral of OH's sister tomorrow. Although OH has prepared her eulogy, I suspect I will be finishing it for her at such an emotional time.

How brave of your OH cyberyacht to even attempt the eulogy for her sister.  Yes I suspect you might be finishing it for her. I hope the day goes as well as can be expected. Difficult times for a few people on here.

Taken the Caravan in for service and insurance repair today (after our blow out tyre and subsequent damage).  I just have this feeling they are not going to get the insurance repair and service done on one day.  Taking bets!

Just  about  to load  the  t/dryer  for  the  final  time  today  --  the  first  days  rain  I've  seen  in  ages, tho'  it  did  rain  one  night  in  Cornwall

yell.  And,  to  make  a real  B****r  of  my  day  I  see  that  my  favourite  osprey,  EJ,  has  laid  three  eggs ( pretty  standard )  but  her  new  boy  ain't  up  to  the  task  of  being  the  fish-winner.  So,  sadly,  it  seems  as  tho'  there  wont  be  any  osprey  chicks  there  again  this  year  cry.

I would have won my bet!  Service is all done but they haven't yet done the insurance repair work - they are saying Friday.  I thought I could sense a scratching of the head when I dropped it off this morning...... 😀.  That's not a big issue for me - were not using the van immediately, and the caravan is covered under their insurance.

Excellent day cycling around various small lakes near Nuremburg, about 15 miles north of it. Weather high 20s but plenty of dapple. Loads of chicks on the lakes including lovely stripey headed Grebes. Plenty of dragonflies, and the water lilies are starting to open.

Bedding washed this morning, dry when we got back just after 1pm.

Not seen any other Brits yet. Are they all staying at home or am I just not going to the right places? (Then again maybe I am.)😋

Gosh you you just triggered my memory cool

When I was a kid I had toy farm, every Saturday afternoon my dad would take  me to the toy shop and let me get a couple more bits for it.

Shouldn't think there are many children nowadays indulge in such thingsfrown

Next door. Just the land. It was in two lots, and a family bought the house and few buildings. A bit of a project for them - no mains water or electricity.

Back the day we had a CL, but after closing it in 2001  (Foot and Mouth), we decided not to reopen for various reasons.

You must be pleased to secure the sale Goldie, sounds good. smile

I have been catching up in our garden today, planting up seedlings, thanks to my neighbour's care when we were away. Also went to a bright and cheerful  garden centre alongside Sherborne Castle which emptied out a few pounds but I can keep things looking good till the autumn. Found a bargain rhododendron in the sales section, £5 for a nice looking plant.

Our son did similar, but not such a huge project, they do have mains electricity.

Otherwise they have water from their own spring, septic tank, cooking by bottled gas,and heating by oil.

They bought the house plus about 20 acres, the other 200 odd acres were  bought by the neighbouring farmer, he also rents about 16 of their acres and space in their big barn.  Seems to work well.

The house has needed quite a lot done to it in the last few years, but he has deep pockets.

They love living in the country, it is a good little community, and will be their "for ever"home.

It's rained most of the morning here and this afternoon has had the wet dull look about it with occasional drizzle.  Not a great day here in N Warwickshire.

Sounds good Goldie,  good luck with your expansion,  although I don't envy the family all the work with the house.

Moved to our last site of the trip now going to have 6 nights here before getting night ferry home via HoH.  Met up with brother so had a nice meal, some beer and a catch up.  Been just about 28C here today but started to rain with a little thunder.

Well I'm another year older than when I started this holiday, birthday last Sunday which also happened to be Mother's day in France. We had a nice day and I was given a petunia plant in a pot by the site owner when he found out it was my birthday smile

Weather was very muggy over the weekend which resulted in yet another thunderstorm on Sunday night. We moved on Monday to Limoges just for the 1 night and another thunderstorm. Arrived here (Royan) yesterday bit cloudy but not muggy and we did get sunshine later on. Today was really lovely, so took the chance to get all the bedding and towels washed, plus some clothes too. Looked a bit like widow twankies for a few hours but all dried and smelling lovely by lunchtime. OH has had to do amend on the waste hose of the little washer when I finished as its leaking due to a split in the pipe. Hope it holds until we get back when he will do a better repair.

First visit to this area and so far we like it, lovely cycle out this afternoon along the sea front about 23c and full blue skies lovely.

WN, we have hardly seen a Brit since leaving 3 weeks ago but we have got them now laughing

We stayed near Royan for many years Tammygirl at St Georges de Didonne. We loved the area. Great for cycling. Belated Happy Birthday.

I hope you get your car sorted out soon DSB.

Your weekend in the Peak District sounds great Helen. When are you off to Wales?

    Congratulations on your purchase Goldie.

Weather not  good here today - grey and drizzly so gave the house a long overdue blitz.

Lots to see in that area. If you are into zoos, La Palmyre is a must. Talmont, up river, is an interesting little place. When you see the way the tide runs up that estuary, it makes you appreciate the achievement of the "cockleshell heroes'.
