We arrived home early afternoon from a great 4 nights at Berwick Seaview C&MC site. For once on a May bank holiday we had great weather and as usual excellent views from the site. We visited Chain Bridge Honey Farm as well as Lindisfarne and of course Berwick itself. Had an easy 3 hour tow home today. Only 4 nights and we are away again can't wait. Now watching the final of the snooker world championship and ordered a take-away.

Glad that everyone who's been away, and those that are still away, have had fine weather and a good time. We've not had it as hot up here in Killin but so far it's been fine and I've managed to sit out in shorts and sandals a couple of times.

Hope all that are setting off over the next few days have a safe journey and an enjoyable trip.

We're heading off away from Chatsworth in about 30 minutes time. They've just started 3 days of tree surgery and it's very, very noisy! A good time to be departing, I think, after a fabulous week. smile

Well who's got a clever OH? Me of course 😉. He's removed, had to borrow a junior hacksaw from a fellow camper 😉 thanks ☺ as only thing he hasn't carried - will be now! the old tap fitting and installed the new one. Took about 4 hours including removing cabinet door and cabinet shelf, not bad for a first time attempt. Few issues with push fit joints 😲 so filling and emptying of system a few times but solved, moving and wriggling around caused slight drip from waste pipe - that sorted too. Now have a 3 way push fit joint by the boiler that's weeping. Nowhere to buy replacement currently and after fiddling its  holding well except if both bathroom and kitchen taps are in use together, so we'll keep an eye on that and replace in due course 😆. Allowed everything to settle overnight and retested before putting things back today.

Despite that fact I knew we had no water I still reached for the tap - how much we take clean running water for granted 😲.

Site as lovely as ever and we heard the cuckoo within minutes of setting up and flew over the site, today tgere are 2 calling. Monday evening we saw 4 huge herons towards the reservoir. Still fantastic weather a few clouds appearing now first we've seen for days. Very misty start to the day and very heavy dew. Apart from the fixing, I've been gofer and tea maker we have enjoyed the sunshine and reading.

    Enjoy your day folks.

Edit good to read your news 3 or 4g a bit patchy so won't comment on the posts.

We arrived back yesterday after a great 3 night stay at Englethwaite Hall C&MHC site. Second visit here and it didn't disappoint. Gorgeous site, really helpful friendly wardens and fellow caravanners.

We were having our lunch yesterday and heard what we thought was a smoke alarm. Looking out of the awning, the site was enveloped in white smoke and a strong smell of burning plastic. We rushed down to help and found others helping a couple who had just arrived and unhitched their van. Apparently he was parking the car when she yelled to him to get it out of the way as she could see flames coming out of the rear around the light cluster.

Bravely he drove it onto the grass a little way from the vans and some quick thinking guys ran for fire extinguishers and contained the fire, thank goodness! The warden was on the phone to the FB whilst her husband helped the poor owners drag their belongings out of the car.

It really brought it home to me how vulnerable you are in this situation and how the quick thinking of everyone prevented a potential disaster. The wardens were great, kept their cool and made sure everyone was safe.

I felt so sorry for the couple who will undoubtedly have their car written off.

Just back from a visit to IKEA to buy a glass cabinet with drawers at the bottom. Careful measurements showed the packages would fit in the car, and they did, although one had to be restrained a bit on left hand bends.😀So that's me sorted for tomorrow. I just opened it to check the glass doors ( all OK ) and instructions show 65 stages. We also stocked up on Coffee, which is good value and their resealable plastic bags. Also bough a pack of 8  2032 lithium button cells for 95p. I think the last time I bought some, they were about that each.

Unfortunately as they are extending the store, the cafe had been replaced by small temporary one. So although they were still serving the meat balls, my favourite Gravlax had been replaced by bought in sandwiches.☹️ Still doing the complimentary coffee though.👍

Really busy day, lots of chores completed.  Replanted 2 fruit trees and planted more flowers and veggies.  Just got to sort out a wild flower patch now.  Top temperature today was 25C but meant to drop a little tomorrow.

Nice to see folk pulling together and helping someone with a problem, bravo 👏🌞

    Good  Afternoon  Everybody  !!

Just  back  from  my  short  visit  to  the  Sarf West  Peninsular  wink.

Absolutely  glorious  weather  after  the  first  few  days  at  Godrevy Park  -  BUT  I'll  forgive  them  that  since  the  visiting  chippy  provided  some  of  the  very  best  Fish n' Chips  I've  had  in  many  a  long  year  laughing.  Even  managed  to  meet  somebody  who  owned  up  to  having  met  TinWheeler  -  Shock  Horror surprised  -  some  mustachioed  chappy  claiming  to  be  a  Site  Warden,  would  you  believe  ??undecided.  Trevithick  Day  was  as  good  as  I  recall  from  my  sole  previous  visit,  definitely  got  me  'steaming  hot'  ready  for  my  next  outing  to  Yeovil's  rally.

Exmoor  House  Site  Was  a  change  for  me  so  far  this  year  --  all  H/standing  But,  like  Godrevy,  flat  as  a  level  pancake  if  you've  gone  nose  first  !!  Then  a  day  out  at  Yeovil's  Abbey  Hill  rally  all  in  the  blistering  sunshine  --  left  old  Brian  quite  pooped  I  can  assure  you.  Still  now  I'm  home  with  loads  of  washing  to  do  and  and  and  its *****  *****   **** raining  !  grrr.

Hoping  all  you  patients  I  left  are  fully  recovered ( not  yet  had  time  to  peruse  all  those  pages  of  posts - but  I'll  do  it  before  the  ironing  !! )

Brue,  It  was  absolutely  glorious  in  the  west  country  after  the  first  few  days  of  "Welcoming Wetness"  !!  Long  long  time  since  I'd  been  to  Abbey  Hill  and I'd  forgotten  how  uneven  the  ground  was,  and  also  how    green  the  car parks  were.  Thank  'evans  it  was  dry  wink   !!

Did  have  a  chat  to  Lady Warden  at  Exmoor  House  and  she's  booked  for  a  trip  to  Oz,  N Zealand  etc  and  I  tried  to get  her  to  contact  Bakers2,  but  apparently  a  CT Person  she  most  certainly  is  Not  !!  Still  at  least  they  approved  of  my  choice  of  music ( CD bought  at  Trevithick  Day  --  The  Singing  Seagulls  no  less -- £10  and  a  free  ball  point  !! )

Glad to hear that those that have been away and are now home all arrived safely.

You can keep the rain down there TG. We don't want it heading up into Scotland, the little we had today was sufficient for the time being, thanks.

There's plenty of flat walking for you and the dogs at Kingsbury, M. Enjoy your stay there.

It's a shame about the car fire Gill, but at least no-one was injured. Do you have any idea of what caused it?

Guess that you're staying at Burnham, B2. Hope you have a pleasant stay and see the hares and Barn Owl.

Mixed weather here today, and another day spent at DD's house.  Offers for the house she want ed had to be in by 11am, so we headed down there around 10.30 to keep her company during the long wait, only to find she had gone out for a walk with the baby.

Having somehow forgotten our keys, we retreated to the car to await her return, fortunately not long to wait.  She kept busy dish washing and tidying then we had lunch.  The wait continued till about 2.30pm when her solicitor called to say her offer had been accepted!

It was not the highest, but chosen as she does not need to conclude a sale on her present house before buying the new one, so could offer what the vendor wanted.....an early entry date.

Once we had got her feet back on the ground, OH took Callum out in his pushchair while DD and I started getting her budgies and cages ready to come on holiday up to us for a few weeks.  They are now installed in our sun room.....with sheets covering all the other furniture!

So now the big tidy-up, declutter and clean starts tomorrow, with the aim of marketing the house next week.  I feel tired already!

Only bad news is that her entry date is a couple of days before we are due to return from our July trip, so we will need to cut it short by about a week.

Thank H&T.  Might save them for when I am in an extravagant mood.  I paid more than I would generally pay for bottles of wine.  They were probably a bit overpriced, but I'll let you know in due course.  😉
