Hooray! that's xmas over and done with for another 350+ days!

    OMG it's new year next!

Oh dear - I have another birthday coming up soon.

    Where does time get to?

Mind you it was nice stuffing the face and drinking with company instead of watching the scales

It was a late start today after all the festivities of yesterday smile

Decided we needed some exercise,  so as it was sunny we walked the couple of miles out of town to see the local Morris Dancers outside the village pub. Enjoyed a drink then walked home. Dog is now curled up in his bed fast asleep,  OH has to be up at 3 am tomorrow as he is back at work frown so has just taken himself off to bed. I am now enjoying a bit of peace and quiet.smile

Yes we had a lot of rain yesterday, spoke to the relatives in USA where they had 5 inches of snow. looked out at midnight and we had snow falling here! I didn't expect them to send it over as a present!

    You and me both, David.smile

Had a busy day yesterday. In self survival mode ( that is I was doing the cooking) so leftovers today.

Had a nice walk this morning, not many people walking off the excesses. Still, they were probably filling out their gym application forms.

Do you remember when Boxing Day used to be the day when the first adverts for next years holidays came out? It was a sort of tradition. No holiday ads allowed before Christmas or else.

After rain during the night we've had a dry, sunny at times but chilly day today. Shortish walk this morning and an even shorter one this afternoon. Site owner called in after lunch for a Christmas drink and a chat.

Hope everyone has had a restful boxing day after your indulgences yesterday.

Lovely bright and sunny day today, good walk after lunch.

Yesterday didn't quite happen the way it was supposed to, Sister phoned first thing to say she was no better and had been up all night coughing, to add to it her OH was also feeling poorly and had gone back to bed.

Visit to Mum was a bit fraught as she also was not feeling good (chest infection) the fall she had a few days ago where she banged her head, has resulted in a massive black and yellow bruise surprised

So Christmas day after that was very quiet, just the 2 of us for lunch.

Nice to hear how others's day went, glad most had a good time.

My mum is poorly too Tammyg, a worry isn't it. Apart from and including being with Mum we've just had a marathon two days, sixteens relatives and ten neighbours, I have lost count.  wink Shattered is the word I am looking for....

It's been nearly a week since we arrived here so I guess we're halfway through our stay. We plan to do some shopping today as we have some friends coming over for lunch tomorrow. We plan to do a different roast dish as I expect they'll have had enough of turkey over Christmas so perhaps roast beef instead. They said that they can eat anything as long as its not spicy and they don't like shellfish either. So it gives plenty of scope of other dishes, depending on what we can find at the Eastville Tesco Extra.

I can hear the rain on the caravan roof as I type this.

Probably pop into Southport town later as Fliss has a M&S  voucher as part of her Christmas presents from her sister. I might look for a pair of shoes and a winter jacket to replace one with a pulled seam.

Last week I was about to go into a department store to look for a smart coat. I usually have problems finding what I want and next door was a charity shop with a sale on. Saved me looking further. Nice Moorcroft coat, like new, for £5. I was very pleased at having to look no further. wink

It's been raining here since about 4pm yesterday, sometimes hard. It was drizzle about 8am. Now we have large flakes of snow. Son's partner coming down apparently heavy snow just south of Peterborough M1 closed,  lucky she'l. Need the A1. I'm hoping it won't settle or last around here - I have a plane to catch tomorrow 😲.

Off to make breakfast now. Enjoy your day folks.

Brue and Tammygirl sorry to hear about your mum's. It' really worrying when they'e older. Apart from a cold mine seemed in reasonable fettle for 87.

OH has woken up with the cold this morning coughing and sneezing well, great timing!  Mine came back a bit yesterday but fingers crossed seems OK today.

Wishing those poorly - not from over indulgence 😉 better.

Great bargain EasyT 😆.  Don't know if it's the price or not having good to hunt for what you wanted 😉

Thanks B2, hope your OH will be ok, we can't throw these cold bugs off but have kept going. Having a quiet day but going out again tonight to the panto. Have been reading the news on line about the snow and power cuts, we had some snow late last night but it turned back to rain.

Enjoy your new coat EasyT, sounds good.

Keep warm and safe everyone. smile

The moral of the story JVB is not to let any type of fuel run out....but enough said I think.

Well we didn't get a white Christmas but it seems we had a white Boxing Day night! We woke up this morning to find remnants of snow on the grass and on the front windscreen of the Shogun.

Lovely sunny morning here in Perth, very hard frost overnight so much that it looks like a fine layer of snow on the grass.

Today we are going to have a drive over to Dundee for a browse around the retail park furniture shops. OH would like a new bigger TV but first we would need to change the corner unit we have the current one on, problem is its an awkward corner and we can't get anything too big as it won't fit. There is a reason why we have not changed the TV before but hey ho! we will go and have a look around, too nice to be indoors anyway.

Good bargain on the new coat ET

Hope the snow doesn't cause you any problems Bakers2
